ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT THE CARE!

I had 3 basil cell carcinomas, 1 on my forehead and 2 on my chest. None of these were big...but the scars are.
Dr. Bettencourt did the removal of all 3. Had I known then what I know now...I would have went elsewhere, but unfortunately the person I learned my lesson from had hers removed after my treatment was over.
First off this doctor made me come back 3 separate times, 1 for each lesion. Each time spending less than 1 minute total removing the skin and tissue...then maybe 2 to 3 minutes each time stitching me up.
I later found out that all 3 of these could have and should have been done at the same time, as were the 5 lesions my friend had on her forehead done...and she has NO SCARING! All her lesions were approximately the same size as mine.
The only reason for her removing 1 leison at a time is so she could charge my insurance for 3 separate surgeries! Had she removed them all at the same time and been done with it, she would have only got paid for 1 surgery.
My forehead had 3 shabby and careless stitches put in, which left me with a large dented and puckered scar 1.25" long and 3/4" wide!

Company charges the patient…

So the company charges the patient $5.00 for their PPE supplies. But require you to bring your own face mask. They don't offer hand sanitizer only do a temperature check and a little bit to close for comfort. Also the wait time is just ridiculous. When I first got here there was 2 lady waiting an hour later and now there is a total of 5 of us waiting. This has been the only Dr during the virus that I've been too that makes you wait so long. This isn't prevention.

Advanced Dermatologist n East Setauket…

Advanced Dermatologist n East Setauket is the worse. The staff is rude, arrogant, the so call manager does not do what she says that she will do. I have been a patient at that office for 6 + years I was seeing Jennifer Wong who is great, she cares for her patients. I spoke with Jennifer Wong on video on May 13, 2020, she order my medicine through specialty pharmacy I normally receive notice from them within two days, when I didn't receive anything from them I called the company where I get my medicine. they advised me that they send out faxes to Advanced Dermatologist twice in January five times in February and never received anything back. On May 15, 2020 I started calling that office and they claimed that they faxed out the form, as of May 26, 2020 the company never received it. I called the so call manger who said that she was going to call them, as of June 5,2020 they never received a call from her. I called back the East Setauket office and spoke to the so call manager who told me that the fax machine was down for weeks, so I said who is lying to me you or your staff. By June 12, 2020 I still did not receive anything. I went to my primary physician and she filled out the form which was one page, faxed to the company the next day and by June 15, 2020 I received notice that I was getting my medicine. I had no help from this office and they use the excuse that they were short hand because of the virus, well that is funny because all other doctors office were working to help the patients not advanced Dermatologist they could care less about your needs. I found out that Jennifer Wong will not be in that office again and neither will I. But if you own money you see how fast that are on your back. I owned $14.00 and when I called to schedule the appointment with Jennifer Wong I was told that I had to pay that amount. I advised them that was paid already and before they tell you that you owe money they should check the records but I guess that too easy. When you called that office they went to a call center, which no other office had a call center. The company where I got my medicine from called then numerous times and after the last call they told them that I was going to a different office, which was not true. I had the Astoria office called them and left them a message to call me, I left numerous message to please call me back, and I am still waiting for a call back. Now I do not want to hear from them, they are so unprofessional incompetent and they don't give a damn about their patients.

All staff are very professionals.

All staff are very professionals.. knowledgeable and very polite.. Top customer service..they know exactly what I want as describe. Thank you for my beautiful skin.. Highky recommended.

Nice personal but no results because of corona and no refunds

Very, very nice personnel. However I have not gotten the results I wished for in any way as I have payed for a treatment I will not receive due to the corona virus. A global pandemic is raging and the state of NSW is closing down as well and still, Advanced Dermatology offers no refund or any other solution. They just care about keeping your money. I can understand if I myself didn’t make it to an appointment but the whole world is in lockdown and surely it should be considered in the refund policy.

I love Advanced Dermatology

I love AD! They are so fast, and always send extra goodies. I will never buy anywhere else. I am a Glymed user, and AD carries everything I need, at great prices. The site is super easy to use, and again...super fast shipping.

Since going here I've had no complaints…

Since going here I've had no complaints to date. I didn't have to wait too long to get in... wait time for my appointment was short and close to my time which is rare for a Drs office these days. Friendly staff and Dr. Would recommend.

NEVER AGAIN!

I was prescribed a gel and NEVER told it could burn my skin. Plus I had to pay $211.00 for the gel and I later found out there was a $63.00 generic I could have gotten. It burned my full chest skin severely and I couldn't sleep at night and couldn't put clothing near it for over 2 weeks! When I went into see the PA after I used the 2 doses and showed her my burning red chest, she said she was happy for me because that meant that the gel was working!

I spent a full week in burning pain and when I called for help twice in one day, no one called me back. When I went into the office the next day, I overheard the staff talking about my phone call because I was crying on the phone. When I told the receptionist that was me and that I needed to see a doctor immediately she said, "We don't have a doctor here." She gave me an appointment at the Sumter office and the doctor there was THE WORST. I kept telling him I was and had been in burning pain on my entire chest from the gel and his response was, "Pain is subjective." not once but twice. Finally, he said that I probably had an allergic reaction and prescribed a steroid cream. I was told I could come back in 2 days but when I went to make the appointment, the receptionist said, " We don't have a doctor here on Thursdays." What kind of a practice has no doctor at all in their Brownwood office and days in the Sumter Office without a doctor? Never again!

ADAM of AD. IS my SKINS, New BFF

I am so GLAD, I am a patient of ADVANCED DERMATOLOGY and PA-C, ADAM. I suffered from itching, way too long - doing MY Best IDEAS & nothing helped. Called for an appointment. Saw ADAM the next day & Within One (1) DAY. One round of medication and I was back to normal!! 😇🥰. No more insane, crazy, intense itching!

Thank you Adam for being so SMART and knowledgeable allowing me to become itch free and heal so quickly!! NOT ONLY are you SMART; you bring your A game of professional skills and you obvious love for your career choice is evident in your patient’s care! Adam, you sir, are a terrific addition to the entire Staff! I can Honestly say, this medical group are at the top of my favorite Medical Teams. I never have to wait forever, for an appointment or a long wait in the office. I am a very happy patient of the Medical Team of ADVANCED DERMATOLOGY. Thank you each one, for your part within this medical for the part you play, keeping my skin and me happier in the last quarter of my life on this Earth🥰

It used to be a great experience.

I gave this office 2 stars only because of the continued presence of Dr. Wright, who is a wonderful physician who has been providing skin cancer care for me for over 30 years. Other than that it would earn a zero.

The staff has gone downhill, trying to speak to anyone in the local office by phone is a joke because everything goes to voicemail and they DO NOT return calls, and scheduling is done by an outside service that can't answer any questions.

When this was Dr Wright's private business it was great; now that it's been sold to a national corporate medical entity it's a horribly frustrating and miserable experience. Look elsewhere for a decent dermatologist as I will be, since Dr Wright will likely retire soon in any event

Dr Ecker

Dr. Ecker was magnificent and his recommendation for the worse case of Rosacea my wife has ever experienced was right on. Thank-you SO MUCH. You can't imagine how helpless I felt trying to handle my wife's affliction as she has Alzheimer's..

Normally my experience is excellent

Normally my experience is excellent, however on this particular appointment the Dr. seemed to be in a rush and was more concerned about talking about his many years of experience to the Dr. that was visiting that day.
