Start to finish great service

Start to finish great service
We had a 17 panel and battery system installed, from the initial survey I knew the service was going to be great.
Clear communication and explanation throughout the entire process, even applying for the grant was made easy. Installation team for both the roof and electrical works where professional and very tidy. Would highly recommend.

I had my panels installed a few years…

I had my panels installed a few years ago and the process was so smooth. I save thousands on my electricity costs and whether it is Trevor or Pauric, Jason or the rest of the team they are all responsive and always professional.

They stand by their product and their customers. Pauric in sales is great
, he will not try to sell you on more than you need and offers lots of advice on energy products.

I will return to them again and actually I believe solar is cheaper than when I got the system installed - so I would encourage people to go green and also to trust this company.

It’s rare to find a company nowadays that is sincere and also good on price.

Here's my experience with this…

Here's my experience with this company... AEI installed a Solar Thermal system on my property in 2019... This system was basically a 30 glass tube system that will, if it works, heat water from April to October, so the immersion or gas heating system will not need to be utilized...That's all I wanted, a simple water heating system for the Spring/Summer months ... We have a sticker on our "immense" boiler that AEI installed , stating that the first "Service" was not due until Sept 2022... We got the remainder of 2019 and 2020 out of the system but in 2021, nothing?? Water was ice cold from April onwards? I got in contact and AEI informed me that the Glycol had to drained and replaced at a cost of 300/350 euro... So I am thinking ?? Where's the saving in getting this installed ?? In the mean time I have a serious leak in my attic, that when I investigate it, it is a Smashed tile , just on the right hand side of the Velux window that AEI staff were using to get in and out onto my roof... This was an easy repair so I did not make a big deal of it.. Stuff happens at the end of the day??. So we got the rest of 2021 and, I think, the majority of 2022 out of the system, but in early 2023 the system seemed to implode?? So out come AEI again, reluctantly, I might add, and have to perform a major repair... The cost of this is predominently covered by AEI but I still have to hand over close on €400 for what is essentially not my fault??... And then the fun started!! We had a leak in our back room whenever we had heavy rain... This is Ireland so, no guesses as to how often this happened?? I'm convinced that it's my old gutters and I replaced them at a cost of €1500.. The problem persists and numerous roofers that I employ state that the problem is under the solar tubes... So I contact AEI and they are having none of it as the contract for repairs has expired... They, however put me in contact with a roofing contractor that they employ on a regular basis, TIBBY ROOFING... Tiberiu came out to me and reinstates that the problem is underneath the solar tubes... Tiberiu to his credit, rang around to numerous colleagues and fellow roofing professionals and enquired as to how much it would cost to dismantle and reassemble my solar system and the cheapest quote that he could get was €3000??... He attempted , with my permission, to dismantle the system and I would, when I could assemble the funds, get it reinstalled... However, as he informed me previously , the chances of dismantling the system without damage was minimal?? The complete system was literally, ripped out and skipped.. As predicted , Tiberiu discovered THREE SHATTERED tiles under the solar tubes that could have only been damaged , either during the initial installation or the major repair in the previous year?? Upon Tiberiu's recommendation I got the whole roof refelted , insulated and latted as they had to do a major repair due to AEIs ineptitude and indifference .. So,so far since 2019... Over €5000 to get the initial system installed, €950 for repairs, €1500 for unneeded gutters, €4000 for essentially unneeded Roóf repairs and €4000 to replace a system that I was informed by AEI, a year after installing, "Well it is Old Technology after all??" So here I am, in 2025 feeling that, this whole,," get solar installed, save money, save the environment"is nothing but a money wasting scam...My advice is , think seriously before you contract this or any other company for any Solar installations and definitely get an independent roofer to inspect and meticulously examine your roof for any damage after and before you hand over the final payment!! To say that this has left a sour taste in my mouth for contracting any form of Solar installation is a serious understatement

Alternative Energy Ireland installed…

Alternative Energy Ireland installed our Solar PV System recently. We are really delighted with every aspect of the service the company provides. The panels were installed initially by one team and subsequently connected to the grid by a second team. Both teams were so very helpful and efficient, and very easy to have in the house. I was very reassured by both team's emphasis on safety. We can see through an app on our phones just how the panels are preforming and how much electricity is being generated.
I found the sales person to be very helpful and constructive in his advice, and he left us make our own decision without any pressure. He helped us with the administration of the grant application and in this area the company provides a wonderful service.
We have also been very impressed with the back up service and know that our panels can be checked remotely which is very reassuring. And help is just a phone call away.
I really can't speak highly enough of AEI and I have no hesitation in recommending them to others considering the installation of a Solar PV System.
