Seamless integration

Seamless integration from airport to rental agency, then onto adventures and B&B's. Price-point was on target. Definitely needed GPS. Would have liked a little bigger car included in package. When choosing B&B, a little more detail about each location.
I would definitely recommend this company all n all.

We Love Ireland but this company (and it is NOT Aer Lingus) Not so much

We returned yesterday from our vacation in Ireland and though we had a good time, it was mainly because we love the country, the people and the history. We were not as happy with our Aer Lingus accommodations.

First let me say that we booked one other trip through Aer Lingus several years ago and were super pleased. This trip was nowhere near the standard though we paid more for this trip than we did before. Second, we didn’t realize that we were buying it from another company, i.e., Aer Lingus Vacation Store and therefore, would not be able to work through Aer Lingus if problems arose. While trying to work through flight issues, you would have thought that we had purchased our trip from a discount travel company not connected in any way to Aer Lingus. At no point in our research to purchase this tour was it billed as a discount, cut-rate, third class tour. We purchased it in February, paid in full, and expected what we could see on the websites as we checked out the hotels.

Let’s start with the flights. I have travelled around the world and never, let me repeat, never have I had seats in the middle at the rear of the plane. I buy in advance, work through reputable (I thought) companies and don’t like surprises. Our seats were noisy, cramped, and we certainly had no view going in either direction of our trip. Coming back, though I tried in advance to change our seats they were one row farther back on return. We arrived at the airport at 10:30am for a 4pm flight specifically so that we could try to do something about our seats. Our first line was an hour in length only to be told be your agent that there was nothing she could do. The agent said that I needed to contact Aer Lingus directly or go stand in another, very long line. I called Aer Lingus, waiting on hold for a very long time. This agent said there was nothing she could do and no I couldn’t even pay for better seats…and then she hung up on me. And then we tried at the gate. We were told that we could pay 1,500 Euros, each, to change our seats. Really? You had use of our money for 4 months and the only thing you could provide was at the back of the plane and in the middle?

Now let’s look at hotels. We stayed at 4 hotels along our journey. The Europa Hotel was as advertised and lovely. We had a view of motors and sheet metal but the room was fine. The Alexander Hotel in Dublin was a trip. If we had stayed on either Floor 2, 3, 4, or 5 our room would have been as advertised. Oops, we were put on the 6th floor. Besides no view, the room was old, dirty, and hot. On our second trip to Dublin, we were on the 3rd floor. Lovely hotel….too bad we didn’t have that experience the first time! And then we get to the Imperial Hotel in Galway. First we took an elevator to the Third floor. Then with luggage, we maneuvered steps, then several hallways…we were all of the way at the back of the hotel above a busy (please understand noisy) street. We laughed about it with other guests and decided that must be where they put all Americans.

The good parts of the trip included our ease in exchanging rail and hotel vouchers, and our breakfasts were fine. However, our flights did not set the stage to begin or end well and we did not have to receive the worst rooms in a facility.

We will not use you again to book a vacation. There is no reason to book/pay in advance, have no input into accommodations (we were not able to access early check-ins or seat assignments since we had booked through a “third party), and not be able to rely on Aer Lingus to provide a standard of reasonableness.

I will make sure that this is noted on as many social media sites as possible. This was not well done.

Angie: We're sorry to hear of your disappointment with your past trip with us.

The Aer Lingus Vacation Store provides the vacation packages for Aer Lingus Airlines but you are correct that the airline cannot assist with any bookings made via the Aer Lingus Vacation Store because the airline does not have access to any Vacation Store bookings.

We have made improvements since you travel with us so please visit us at www.aerlingusvacationstore.com and browse our vacation packages.

Our experience with Aer Lingus was …

Our experience with Aer Lingus was amazing! We used their vacation store to book a flight, car rental, and B&B stays for our week long stay in Ireland. The pricing was great and the overall experience was as well. We could not have asked for a better trip and it all started with Aer Lingus.

Fly and Drive package

Did Fly and Drive package. Pricing excellent and flight out of Bradley Hartford on time and less traffic than other major airports. Dublin airport with US Custom and Immigration onsite was very easy .

We had a great trip

We had a great trip, but we found that if we had booked things separately, we could have saved some money. But the hotel locations were wonderful and we had a fantastic honeymoon.

All of the staff and employees we …

All of the staff and employees we encounted were kind and hospitable. However you need to notify those flying out of JFK that your ticket counter does not open until 2pm! We took a redeye from the west coast landing at JFK at 6 a.m.and had to sit until the AerLingus counter opened!
Flight was good, car rental went smoothly, regarding the hotels most were on the outskirts of the towns so driving 20 miniutes to town was not good, the public parts of the hotels (lobby, dinning area, lounge areas) were all fine but the rooms were okay to substandard. Particulary the Inn at Dromoland ...it was a tour bus haven. Not what we expected in a self-driving trip.

This trip was a great value, but....

This trip was a great value. 3 out of the 5 hotels were very good. However, Limerick City Hotel is one of the worst hotels I have ever experienced. Dirty (dirty bedding too) smelled of smoke, and no air conditioning. The Blarney hotel was also disappointing- dirty room, mold in the bathroom, and along window casing, and also in he middle of nowhere. We did not end up staying in either of these hotels and had the extra expense off getting new rooms at different hotels. Aer Lingus should not use these hotels! The best hotel was the International Hotel in Killarney. Lovely and wonderful staff. All in all this vacation was a great way to see a lot of Ireland in 11 days. Next trip I would likely only get a fly and drive package and chose hotels myself.

Worthwhile, great value, made for a great trip

This was all that we expected and more.
The car, as one would expect, was small. A Clio of Renault. I was pressured to upgrade, but there was no need. It had GPS and room for the two of us. Pressure also to move up to diesel,"so much more efficient," but for less than 500 miles, there was no point.
The hotel was easy to find because of GPS. A first class hotel, geat place for the first night. Far better than I expected.
The vouchers for the B&Bs all worked out. Granted, none was available in Dublin, but staying north of town put us near the bus, Malahide, and the airport.
This was a great trip, made so by the opportunities of the Aer Lingus Vacation. We highly recommend it.

Flights were nice as were hotels

Flights were nice as were hotels. Could have skipped the town of Killarney or spent less time there and more somewhere else, like Dublin. Would book through Aer Lingus again. Ireland was fantastic.

Not Impressed

Old 757 200 aircraft
Bulk head seats with zero storage and limited leg room considering I Paid for upgraded seats;
Screen on bulkhead wall turned on bright entire flight - impeded ability to sleep;
Equivalent to US domestic (means not good) = not impressed. (First international airline to disappoint);
Food was good (Beef stew) considering there were no dietary option when booking the flight through the Aer Lingus vacation store.

Return Flight: Coffee service but no coffee?????? AM meal service with only cold drinks- still puzzled. Meals served - all carbs and no diet food. Inquired about hummus plate referenced in flight menu and told they do not sell any of the menu items on this flight. Flight attendant did not seem to care. Nuts and power bars will be the meal for next 8 hours.

The Aer Lingus Vacation Store offers …Vacations that will fit any budget.

The Aer Lingus Vacation Store (ALVS) offers vacations packages that are budget friendly. Their Customer Service is "Second to None" and their responses to inquires by email or phone are always prompt, professional and responsive. Thanks to the folks at ALVS we had an awesome 8 day trip to Ireland that included a rental car and vehicle insurance.

Booking and confirmation of our flight and car rental was stress free. We also appreciated ALVS's attention to detail by providing minimum passport requirements in advance of our travel.

Looking forward to booking another "longer trip" with ALVS once the change jars are filled.

We loved the Aer Lingus rail travel …

We loved the Aer Lingus rail travel package to Dublin, Cork, and Killarney!! The trains were easy to navigate and it was great to have the flexibility of a voucher instead of a specific train reservation at a set time. The hotels were all wonderful and centrally located. We had so much fun, and would highly recommend the trip!!

Great trip to Ireland

Great trip to Ireland. Everything worked out as planned. Especially appreciated the rental car from Dooleys. No hidden fees or upcharges for insurance, etc. Just took the car and returned it a week later without issue.
