AffordableArt.com is a new space dedicated to helping you find extraordinary, beautiful, original artworks for your home. Reflecting the same ethos as our sister brand, Affordable Art Fair, our aim is to democratise the art world and empower people who have never purchased art before to do so, because we believe everyone should be able to own art.
It was with this aim of making contemporary art accessible to everyone that Will Ramsay founded the Affordable Art Fair in 1999. Since then, our fairs have introduced thousands of people to the pleasure of collecting quality contemporary art in a fun, inspiring and informative environment.
In 2017 we introduced our online marketplace, connecting art lovers with over 200 galleries around the world, 365 days a year. I paid £735 for a crooked canvass!
I paid £735 for a painting and took it to a professional for framing, who advised that it is going to cost a substantial amount of extra money to frame it as the canvass is misaligned. I don’t expect to spend this much on art and have an imperfectly aligned product.

Easy way to find a print I was searching for - purchase system was painless (apart from parting with the money). Good communications from all parties and print arrived by courier well packaged and promptly. No issues at all and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again

outrageous shipping costs
I bought a photo (art) for €584 and was charged just under €174 for shipping. The photo came in a cardboard tube, which couldn't have cost much to ship. Afterwards, however, I received an invoice from the freight company for import duties and expenses of just under €71.
I think it is simply outrageous to charge such a high price for shipping when, without any indication, there are also considerable import costs.
I consider this to be dubious.

As we are a marketplace, all artworks sold on AffordableArt.com are dispatched directly from the gallery, so the prices and the shipping destinations depend on where they are based in relation to the customer. As well as the actual shipping cost which takes into account the dimensions and weight of the artwork, they may need to factor in packaging, and any insurance into their shipping prices.
In the instance that you come across some art you would like to purchase where the delivery cost is discouraging you, we are very happy for you to contact us, as the gallery may be willing to discuss this further. This can be done by visiting the artwork page and clicking the 'Enquire about this piece' underneath the 'Buy Now' button.
Regarding the import charge, kindly note that all international shipments may be subject to additional import taxes and customs duties upon arrival to the destination country.
We do communicate this clearly at checkout, but apologise if this wasn't clear to you at the time of placing your order.
We would very much like to rectify this for you, and are in the process of reaching out to the gallery for more information about the shipping cost you were charged for this particular order. Slow to arrive
Affordable Art itself is very good but the gallery was very slow to deliver the painting and gave very little information about when we would see it. I had to chase it up twice. In contrast, the money left my account almost immediately, no lingering in pending.
