Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 37 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, citing long wait times and unhelpful representatives who were often unable to resolve their issues. People frequently reported difficulties contacting support, with some experiencing hours-long holds and others noting that call-back services were unavailable or ineffective. The website was also a major source of frustration, with complaints about geo-blocking, slow loading times, and problems with logging in or resetting credentials. Some people were dissatisfied with the product itself, mentioning issues like poor quality items or difficulties in earning and redeeming miles, with some even losing accumulated miles due to expiration. However, some reviewers were happy with the product, receiving their rewards and having positive interactions with customer service representatives who helped them recover lost miles.

Airmiles Onyx priorty service is a joke...........

How does this company stay in business. If owned by BMO, you should be ashamed. As many others have noted, their phone support system is ridiculous and has been for a long time. No calls back when promised, Airlines can't/won't help so you end up forfeiting points and making your own flight arrangements. I can't understand how this is allowed to continue.

Don't think transactions are being…

Don't think transactions are being posted to my account. Tried signing into my account but unable to do so despite trying both email and account number. Waited on the phone for over 1.5 hours with no answer. Tried phoning again and requested call back but never received one. I give up on Air Miles!

Very Very Very bad experience with…

Very Very Very bad experience with their phone lines, customer service, online platform, and everything. It’s a terrible platform that everybody avoids phone calls. Airmiles.ca simply does not respect its customers. I tried calling and they always say they are too busy and call you back, but never call back. I tried online, and they say somebody would call me and they never did. I left a request for a callback twice after waiting more than an hour on the phone and still, nobody returned my calls. It is one of the worst company doing business in Canada. They should not be in the business. The government should cancel Airmiles.ca's license.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience with their phone lines, customer service, online platform, and basically everything. It’s a terrible platform that everybody needs to avoid at all cost. Aeroplane is way better. Airmiles.ca simply do not respect their customers. I tried calling and they always say they cannot take my call. I tried online, and they say somebody will call you and they never did. I left a request for a callback twice after waiting more than an hour on the phone and still, nobody returned my calls.

Completely inconsistent info/functionality

Their chatbot, front line staff and FAQs are useless. The documentation clearly says that you can pick a separate address for a merchandise rewards. Yet when you try to send to Quebec it fails because of “security failure”. The chatbot doesn't provide any clarity and waiting on the line first led to one call center member apologizing and say wait a few days and try again. The next one after a week just said “sorry that function doesn't exist, we have to ship to your account address” so now we have to pay on our own to ship a saucepan cross country. Their messages across all platforms should be consistent, not just a frustrating mess

Literally the most expensive and…

Literally the most expensive and terrible points system I have ever dealt with. Airline canceled my flight and air miles can’t do anything to refund. The customer agent literally hung up on us when we asked a question. Don’t waist your time with these people.

Trying to contact air miles is…

Trying to contact air miles is excruciating. They clearly do not have enough staff to take all the complaints. They keep you waiting 15-20 minutes on the line and then hang up on you. I've just learned that Metro is dropping them. Who else is going to drop them? Can we really count on this company? It's just another example of a poorly run Canadian enterprise?

I would like to use my air miles for… travel

I would like to use my air miles for some travel perks but by 90% Airmiles Travel charges 50% more for the same package compared to all other travel companies. Such as Air Canada, Air Transit, Red Tag etc. It seems like they want your business then when it comes time to cash in, they give you the business! Brutal!

Not worth your time

Not worth your time, they don't pay most of the offers they advertise and when you contact them they do nothing but make excuses, they had a offer for 500 airmiles for making a purchase with Samsung posted on the Samsung page and airmiles, I tired to contact them after a month so I could remember all the info I needed they then tell me I got to wait 3 months before I can submit a missing miles report lol I couldn't find the ad and now they say sorry nothing we can do, we'll there is something I can do, I won't be using this anymore, used it again today and got ripped 50 points that's it for me keep them.

Beware: Will not take back defective merchandise.

I redeemed my points for an Apple product which came to me nonfunctional. As in, dead and it couldn't be recharged. Obviously, I wanted to return a defective product and get my points back. I filled in a merchandise return form in March, no response in two months; so I resent, only to be rejected because the company determined it should be Apple's problem even though AppleCare did not come with this product. Apple was also useless (no return or replacement, bring it to an Apple store and pay to have it fixed since the product isn't under AppleCare). Did I mention the serial number on the product didn't match any on Apple's files?
So after being with Air Miles for years; I am cancelling my account with them (which you can't do online, and you have to call. No convenient "deactivate my account" button online). Horrible and clunky customer service, and no way to return defective merchandise.

I have been saving air Miles for years

I have been saving air Miles for years. Had enough to cover 10 days in Hawaii in Dec. Preferred hotel was 37,000 points when I looked 6 weeks ago. Tuesday it was 51,000 points. When I went to book THE NEXT DAY it had moved to 56,000 points. Useless program

Just an overall pathetic program

Just an overall pathetic program and you are lucky if you live long enough to get any trip covered before you perish. Takes forever to accrue any points and other points programs such as Aeroplan or even Scene give far better incentives ... A/Ms just seems obsolete, and regimented to have to shop where they say or buy certain items someone else wants to push on you ... just lame

Trying to use their website just to reset a password - site doesn't even send a reset repones to my email used for the account - and try to get someone on the phone ... good luck .. and for what .. its bee a f* half hour, even with multitasking I feel like I have wasted time off my life haha

Gold Member for as long as I can remember (1998?). They stole my points (I have never used any).
Terms and Conditions state inactivity for over 2 years.
Will boycott all businesses who partner with airmiles.ca in the future (luckily the LCBO is no longer a partner)
(Air Canada pulled the same crap when they switched providers a while ago) - I have been avoiding AC as much as possible since then

Recently

Recently, I have got extremely negative experience with customer service personnel hired by AirMiles help centre. They are very lazy to open and read requested by them order confirmations about missing miles. They do not care to verify what they are stating, what is the impression about professionalism, and what customers think about them. One of such 'heroes' of AirMiles customer service: Shabab from Customer Care (I have no idea about Shabab's last name: he did not provide it). Now this Shabab is sends requests once in three (!) weeks (not oftener) requests for every 1-3 AirMiles-worth purchases making fun of AirMiles customers. Probably, they were unable for some reasons to hire anybody familiar with English-speaking customer service: accuracy, responsibility, and professionalism. Probably, the lack of English makes Shabab to understand a request in 3 weeks only, I do not know. And the same lack of English makes Shabab deaf about clients' requests, making instead fun of them.

There is no such thing as customer…

There is no such thing as customer service with this company. It is impossible to get an employee on the phone and somethings can only be done by phone through an employee. Another scam no actual value because they have to many "conditions" to meet an a very unaccessible system. Save yourself the time and headach and just don't bother
