Beware of these folks
Beware of these folks! Hold on to your pocketbook. First of all, I was referred to Airrosti by my Baylor Scott & White health care provider and was told that they accept BSW Insurance. They do but ONLY the top of the line BSW Insurance (I found out later). Upon getting an appointment, I received a text from them advising me to get their Iphone App so that I could take care of my paperwork before my appointment. So, I download their App and every time I open it, it just locks up on the opening page. I called them back & advised them of my issues with their App & they asked if I had a home computer, which I do. They then advised me to get their computer App & directed me to where I could get it. After going to the aforementioned place to get their App, I found out that it was not compatible with an Apple computer, which is what I have. I called them again & told them that neither App would work for me & asked that they either text or email me the information, and they agreed. However, the info that they sent me all referred me back to the Apps that I can’t use.
So I finally got their estimate of my responsibility for the upcoming visit, which was $198.00. They would not accept Medicare or my BSW Seniorcare Insurance. Okay, I can live with that if they can help my problems and give me some relief. I arrive at their office for my appointment and sat down in the waiting room. After a bit, a gentleman opened the window & asked if he could help me. I said yes, I am here for my 4:00 PM appointment. The very next words out of his mouth were “That will be $198.00”. I’m appalled & shocked and told him that I haven’t even spoke to the doc and that he hasn’t even seen me yet. I informed him that I’m not paying him anything until after I am seen.
He then dropped the subject and I continued to wait for my appointment. Approximately 30-40 minutes later, I was called back to the exam room. I gave the doc a CD of my X-rays and the diagnosis after being read by the radiologist. He informed me that he did not need the CD, only the diagnosis. Upon reading the diagnosis, he told me that he did not believe that he could help me, as my issues were not within his field of expertise. After that, he said that he might be able to provide some temporary relief and proceeded to do so pressure point manipulation around my neck & shoulders for approximately 5-8 minutes and the took me to their in-house Physical Therapist who showed me 3 simple exercises to do at home daily. Then he sold me a “therapy” ball for $4.00 and then wanted the full $202.00 payment which I paid.
The doc’s pressure point manipulation did not provide any relief at all and after doing the subsequent physical therapy for a week, it did nothing at all either.
So why didn’t they just tell me when the doc said that he did not feel that he could help me, just send me on my way and cancel the appointment? No, they converse with me for about 20 minutes and take my $202.00. Just be aware of their business practices……..
