Very nice, dog friendly pub.

The Crown at Aldbourne (SN8 2DU), is a great pub dog friendly pub. Great food and beer and reasonably priced. Dog friendly rooms at a very modest £10 extra, (when we went, check before booking, obviously). We arrived just after the kitchen closed, due to a RTC, but the chef rustled up a very nice home made pizza for us. Nice walks around the pub to walk the dog. Only stayed one night, as we were on our way to Wales, but we shall return!
I can't recommend The Crown and thw staff, highly enough!
Oh. And a historical fact-in 1944, the cellar was used by Easy Co., 2nd Batt. 506th PIR, 101st Airbourne Div., (of Band of Brothers fame), as their command post.
