Disappointing Experience With Alisa Larsen’s Fall In Love With Your Voice

I enrolled in a special four-month version of the FILWYV program after learning about Alisa Larsen’s work. She is an exceptionally talented, classically trained singer and certified yoga teacher with impressive performance skills. Her voice and artistry are genuinely inspiring.
The program includes access to an app containing vocal exercises, song preparation and performance lessons, infographics, and approximately 60 yoga videos. There is also a private Facebook group and a weekly masterclass component.
However, in my experience, the program lacks structure. It is essentially a large library of resources rather than a step-by-step curriculum. Students are expected to choose their own path without clear progression, goals, or benchmarks. For a premium program (the annual offering is advertised at $5,500 USD), I expected a more organized, professionally produced, and sequential learning system.
The videos are largely unscripted and loosely delivered. Many contained errors, tangential commentary, and distracting elements that did not reflect an upmarket production standard. While Alisa was responsive in the Facebook group, overall engagement within the community was minimal.
There is also no opportunity to “try before you buy.” Given the significant cost and the no-refund contract, prospective students should be aware that there is no trial period, sample module, or preview option to evaluate whether the format and teaching style are a good fit.
The most difficult part of my experience was the weekly masterclass. I was transparent from the beginning about my performance anxiety and explained that I experience significant physical symptoms when singing in front of others. During one session, despite asking to go last because I was not ready, I was required to perform. I found this experience deeply uncomfortable and unhelpful. My concerns about anxiety were met with “everyone gets stage fright,” which did not reflect an understanding of the severity of my situation.
When I requested a refund, there was initial resistance, followed by an offer of private lessons. I tried two sessions, but they lacked preparation, structure, and defined goals. I ultimately received a partial refund.
In summary, while Alisa Larsen is an accomplished performer, I did not find the program structured, organized, or professionally delivered at a level consistent with its price point. Prospective students should carefully review the contract (which clearly states there are no refunds), understand that there is no trial option, and ensure they are comfortable with a self-directed, library-style format before enrolling.
