All-Risks Insurance Brokers consistently fail

So many issues over the last five years. Recently, my house insurance policy came due and my agent decided that he wanted to dig through phone records of the original application to confirm that his company wasn't at fault for a misunderstanding that would now cost me an additional $100. He made a request on my behalf to extend my policy deadline without asking my consent so that he could do this. Then after I paid the policy renewal (through them which has been five years of past practice), they never contacted me to let me know an additional amount was owing. Apparently because my broker already asked for an extension earlier (without my consent), when payment wasn't received in two weeks, they just canceled my policy. Yes, a letter came in the mail that I took a while to read, but as my brokers, they should have said something! Mail takes a while to turn around. They should have called me for payment, they should have called me to let me know it was about to be canceled. They had the documents and they did nothing about it. When I spoke to Peter Marossis to request that he admit to my insurance company the part his company played in this debacle so that I could avoid paying extra high fees for three years, he refused saying "it's more of a courtesy to let you know about payments. as long as the insurance company sent you the letter, our job is done." What? Letting me know my policy is about to be canceled is not a courtesy! It's a broker's job. And their refusal to assist in fixing the issue they created is maddening.
