Complete customer service failure

Complete customer service failure. I’ve been stuck in an automated loop and disconnected multiple times while trying to submit my Qualified Health Coverage (QHC) letter. Allstate’s lack of support for Michigan residents is costing me real money every month. For months have been stuck paying for the most expensive tier of insurance because their staff doesn't understand how to process a simple PIP selection. If you don't have a local agent, you're invisible to this company. My time and money are being wasted by their incompetence.

Extremely Frustrating Claims Experience-No Transparency or Support

My experience with this insurance company has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional from start to finish. Not only was I given a low-ball estimate that doesn’t match the contractor’s actual repair costs, but when I asked for clarification about who is responsible for the price difference, the adjuster refused to provide a clear explanation. I was also unable to reach any supervisor for help.



What made this situation even worse were the accusations made against me. The adjuster (Mr.McDonald)claimed in a email reply, that I was “harassing” him simply for asking questions about my own claim. He also accused me of committing insurance fraud and state I used the initial start‑up check to pay a credit card bill while waiting for repair work to move forward (OMG). I found these accusations to be completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and upsetting.



I expected transparency, guidance, and respect during this process. Instead, I was met with poor communication, unfair accusations, and no support from management. This entire experience has been extremely stressful, and I hope the company improves how they train their adjusters and handle customer concerns.

Cancelled after 40 + years nobody respects loyalty anymore!

After 40 years of loyalty. My Dad's policy was cancelled because he put his house up for sale. They considered it vacant. He lives there with a bed, washer and dryer, fridge, food, TV, and a chair. The real estate lady told him it would sell quick so I gave him my timeline of moving his stuff to TN. We made the move and got all of his stuff to TN. Got his banking taken care of and his mail transferred. Unfortunately the house has not sold yet and so he is living there with basics. I am sending any pertinent mail to him via UPS. Allstate cancelled his insurance. Nobody will insure the house now.

AllState is a scam. The CEO should be tried in a people's court

I signed up for Allstate car insurance with more than a decade of a clean driving record, no lapse in payments, and no prior claims in my entire life. They charged me over 300 dollars a month for the minimum, legally-required insurance. They signed me up through a subsidiary without telling me, and it took me about six hours to find out how to even get my policy documents and pay my bill, since their website doesn't work well for subsidiary companies. I had to take a day off of work to do this, costing me over $400 in pay in addition to the insane cost of insurance.

I would never use all state ever…

I would never use all state ever again... $40,000 worth of damage to my carport / driveway and they sent me a check for $6800. The snow/ice weight caused a carport to collapse. We removed the carport and had lowes install a new one. They said we don't cover earthquakes... I said get me a new person if you think a snow and ice fall is considered a earthquake. The second person called me and said we don't cover volcano eruptions... I live in dallas. We don't get volcanos. This is caused by the weight of the snow/ice during our january blizzard. The third person called and said you had some ice damage. OMG. The carport is covered up to $48,000 minus a small deductible. Why in the world is so difficult to get a check? They keep wording it for the "exclusions" when the policy clearly covers for collapse by snow/ice.

FRAUDS-CHEATS-LIARS - you’re in GRAFT HANDS w/Allstate - Allstate confirmed they enjoy ELDER ABUSE!! insurance is a scam and Allstate is the worst!!!! DELAY-DENY-DEFEND!! Zero claims, 50 years of premiums and they lie cheat and steal. Adjusters come across as Christians (their churches should ban them) while lying, stealing and covering up damage to expose homeowners to toxic dangerous substances. They get you to move out, then delay payment of housing. They get you to use their contractors - Graft Hands Repair Network and Allstates contractors tell you they will do things later and then delay it - they do the easy work, charge a lot, leave homeowners with dangerous mold and wet areas but say they are done. Allstate pays them in advance in violation of regulations. Complete scam. Allstate abuses elderly homeowners and keep them out of their home until they die so Allstate doesn’t have to pay. Go with CA Fair Plan - avoid Allstate - Graft Hands!!! The responses to each complaint go nowhere, just canned response.

Find another insurance company

They got rid of local agent offices saving them millions.. yet more than double insurance prices the last 6 years.. while we do all the work an agent did through their app when registering vehicles and taking off vehicles. So we are effectively doing the job of an agent but getting charged more than double. I'm currently looking into other insurance companies because as someone with a perfect driving record and 0 accidents... I shouldn't be getting charged $200 a month for 1 vehicle. I've also been with allstate since I got my license almost 20 yrs ago.

Made a claim online thru the Allstate…

Made a claim online thru the Allstate app and scheduled an appointment. Day came and they never showed. Between waiting for them snd phone call I wasted over 3 hours of my time. On the phone call (answered by an answering service in Mexico) I’m told they (a vender contracted by Allstate) tried calling me 2 times the day after I scheduled the appointment and never left a vm or text or email or even an update on the app. The day they picked for me to reschedule was a day and time I would be at work. Asked to complain to a supervisor but one isnt assigned to the claim. I thought I was in “good hands”with Allstate, but really Allstate has me in somebody else’s hands. I’d venture to say Allstate doesnt have any hands at all. NEVER should of switched.

Nightmare

Nightmare to deal with. When contractors hear I have Allstate insurance they run. I have the best insurance package they have and I’m still paying out of pocket. Awful.

Canceled my policy on February 6 2026…

Canceled my policy on February 6 2026 and Allstate owes me $246.00 credit they said it was sent out back in February 7 2026 it is now March 11 2026 still haven’t seen the cheque. this company is shady.mi do not recommend Allstate insurance.

Rates have gone sky high on all of my policies.

My agent only spoke with we when I became a new customer. Not they wont take calls or return calls. Why have an agent if they will not speak with you.

I am moving all my policies from Allstate.

My recommendation, DON'T USE ALLSTATE.

Their AI will not connect you with a…

Their AI will not connect you with a human. If you go thru the agent to get connected to a claim person. They pay no attention to what you say. Just continue their checklist.
They lowball the claim by a factor of 10 as a negotiating position. Thus ridiculously delaying the process. They use call centers in foreign countries that speak very poor English.
I made the mistake of selecting by price. Allstate is the worst insurance experience i have ever had. If my claim ever gets resolved I will cancel immediately.
Strongly recommend no one ever do business with them

Horrible stories throughout

Oh boy long story short they made me sign a cancellation for a policy that I asked them to not renew as the truck didn’t run anymore, but in reading lots of the reviews from other people, I saw my story already stated in other reviews, as of time I wrote this I am not resolved, this issue is now 3 1/2 weeks running and not resolved.

The worst car insurance company, so dishonest and unethical, so many games

The worst car insurance company for sure. So unethical, unfair, and dishonest. They play so many games. Low ball estimates to pay less for damages. They make so many errors with your name, emails, links, putting errors on the estimate, they are a mess and so nonresponsive. Just so many games. Very dehumanizing with them. Not sure how they are allowed to operate as a business in this country. They have to be the most dishonest company I have ever seen. Then their virtual assist app does not work, so you cannot get a fair estimate of damage. Their reviews on Google play for their app are horrible, it does not work. They give you so much run around. I would never use them or recommend them. I had damage done to my car by their policy holder and it has been a nightmare from hell. You are not in good hands with Allstate. Beware of this company. I saw all the bad reviews, thousands on BBB, Consumer Affairs, Smart Consumer, Yelp, Google, here and so many, they have the worst reviews. They need our prayers. It is like dancing with the devil dealing with them. Just absolutely horrible!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. On 5/27/25, got hit by a car. Police report stated other driver fault. Other driver admitted fault. Worked with a claim individual on the phone who stated Geico and he found accident was the driver's fault. Geico refused to compensate me. Claim specialist at All State said that since I had liability only, he couldn't help me. He would've helped me get my fair compensation if I had full coverage. Car repair was $3,000 which I had to incur on my own. Two weeks ago pulled over by police stating no insurance and plate suspended. I showed insurance. Cop said go to DMV. Gave me a warning. Very hard to get an appointment and pulled over again today. Same thing, another warning but told next pull over a citation and court along with misdemeanor. Caused to be late to work. Elderly mom and friend went to All State office in Bolingbrook, IL. They said we had no agent and car was supposed to be reported by US to DMV. Had to pay 106.00 and they got it reported. Didn't know I didn't have an agent or needed one. Shouldn't customer service advised when I signed up? Company sure takes our money every month. This company is very disappointing. Big name, but horrible service and communication. Look elsewhere folks, don't get sucked in. I have anxiety and ptsd. I work hard for my money. This company no help.

Liars,scammers….. I agree to a quote and once I agreed to it,and I made a payment and they charge me a higher amount..than they come up with bullshit excuses why they charged me more .. be very careful… I will not recommend Allstate to anyone

Whenever you decide to go looking for new car insurance, be sure NOT to get a quote from these guys. They've called and emailed me multiple times over the last week, even after repeatedly telling them I found something else. Borderline harassment.
