The teacher is very warm and friendly, giving a relaxed atmosphere. I learned that I knew more than I thought, and I gave the wrong information to the teacher, as to which level of Korean language I am at now... But she improvised and adjusted her class to suite my level.

This is a highly frustrating app which simply doesn’t work properly. Spent days trying to verify my ID and teaching qualifications. I don’t know what kind of technology they use, but you’d expect more from Taiwan. There are weird requirements for your photo and introductory video which is fiddly and wastes time, but ultimately you’ll hit a wall when you try and verify your identity. The window size meant to scan your passport has a weird size and will keep telling you your document isn’t aligned. If you succeed, you’ll get an email telling you they can’t read your document. If they can’t read and accept a national passport, I don’t know what’s better than that. Tried to upload a driving licence, but they won’t accept it. Is a driving licence not a formal ID in Asia? Yet another issue is the selfie you must take as part of the verification process. After 2 full days of frustration with what seems to be early 2000s technology, I’ve given up. The website itself is rather annoying with all the pop ups giving off Temu shopping experience rather than a professional teaching platform. Menu options are scattered all over or hidden instead of allowing for an easy intuitive discovery. Been a long time since I came across such a poor website and app.

Robbie did a really great job of preparing me for the A1 exam and very quickly. Before I started my sessions, I was struggling and he recommended a lot of really great tips to study as well as went over much of the material in the exam.

The way that the platform pairs teachers with students is very useful, and my vietnamese tutor, Francis, is very knowledgeable and helpful, answering any and all questions that I have and creating a fun and efficient learning experience. If you're wanting to learn vietnamese, I could not recommend him more! He teaches me the differences between southern and northern dialects, so I can understand and be understood in both the north and south of vietnam. I have made more progress in three weeks with him than I did in months of using AI apps.

Amazing experience really. I recommend this method.

My teacher, Bea, is very helpful giving me tools to learn and improve my italian. She makes sure I understand what she is saying with good explanations, samples and synonims.

Teacher George is very patient! I booked several more classes with him so I can have more help from his teaching.

I highly recommend Lina.
You should at least give her a try.

Honestly, she is the third tutor I've come into contact with at Amazing Talker. There were problems with the first two, from bad internet connection to misunderstandings. No problems with Lina.

The teacher is excellent. I do not speak Chinese and a few classes in I can already speak simple phrases and understand responses. While the teacher speaks little English, it has not been a barrier to me learning Chinese. In fact, I believe it helped a lot so I do not keep falling back to English.

Rosario is a great teacher to practice speaking Spanish. She was very patient and understanding. She is positive and helpful. I will continue taking lessons with her to improve my Spanish.

Kevin is a great instructor and is helping me with my conversational French. He encourages me to speak and gently corrects me when I don’t say it correctly.

This website & app combo has been amazing at providing affordable lesson plans and making the entire process from sign-up to connecting with your private tutor a breeze. I would recommend this to all of my friends and family.

I like that I can book trial lessons with the instructors to see whose teaching style I like best. I have taken Chinese and Korean lessons on here and have found some great instructors here. I am able to read a good amount of Chinese thanks to my instructor now and I get a lot of speaking practice in. In my opinion this is the best way to learn a language, by having someone to chat with and keep you accountable to studying.

I'm learning beginner Japanese, and not only are there a plethura of tutors available, but they have you fill out a form to better match you! First lesson (trial) is free so you can see how you connect with your tutor & they have all sorts of activities or homework to test your knowledge. They then make a plan to map out what they can/will teach you.
My tutor is Turumi Sensei <3 Very sweet, teaches my lessons in Japanese so I can become more fluent and fluid in pronunciation. 5 out of 5 stars, would totally recommend her to anyone!

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience truly deserves one.

I worked on this platform as a teacher, investing 8–10 hours of real teaching time. Anyone who teaches knows that those hours are not just “screen time.” They include preparation, lesson planning, mental focus, and responsibility toward students.

Out of roughly $70–$80 earned through classes, the actual amount left for payout was shockingly low. After platform deductions and international transfer fees, I was left with around $13. And to make things worse, even when the withdrawal failed, the $25 transfer fee was still deducted.

So let me understand this clearly:
Teachers do the work.
Teachers take the responsibility.
Teachers build the platform’s reputation.
But when it comes to payment issues, teachers carry all the loss.

Support responses were polite but robotic — always referring to “policy” and “standard process.” There was no real effort to protect the teacher’s earnings or show empathy.

A platform that earns from educators should protect them — not shift banking risks entirely onto them.

This experience made me feel undervalued and replaceable. It sends a clear message: teachers are just revenue generators, not partners.

If you are a teacher thinking about joining, please carefully calculate what you will actually receive after all deductions. The advertised earnings can be very misleading once fees are applied.

Very disappointing and not teacher-friendly at all.
