I paid almost $10,000 for a professional publication of my book almost four years ago. The company did not do what they promised in their contract including things like editing, marketing, etc. In actuality, I did all of the corrections and necessary changes. I've asked for a refund--not the entire amount because they did so some work albeit substandard and ultimately a lack of professional quality and care in the completed project.

American Author House is the worst publisher in the world. They made me by 1000 books to be printed and distributed then the company who was supposed to do that work charged me AGAIN for printing costs. I'm still waiting for an explanation. I have spent almost $30K on my book only to receive less than $100 in royalties. They do not respond to my emails and have failed to produce what they promised in the contract. I believe they are a bunch of SCAM ARTISTS!. Stay away from them if you don't want to lose your shirt!!!

This is my first experience with publishing a children’s book and in many ways I feel taken advantage of. AAH communication was very poor and when I did get to talk to someone personally , the language barrier left a number of misunderstandings . After an initial fee, Multiple additional charges over doubled my cost. I was promised my books would be at Barnes and noble so I purchased some for that purpose which included a written guarantee that my investment would be returned if all the books were not sold. I still have not received my guaranteed funds nor confirmation that the book store actually were selling them . The only communication I received back after multiple attempts was “ contact our legal department. Very disappointed My other books will be published and printed elsewhere

STAY AWAY! Thieving, unprofessional actors in every way. Empty promises, horrible communication, if at all. I went through several project managers for my children’s book. After 1 full year of my wasted time I finally decided I wanted a full refund(per my contract). It has been over 5 months and they still haven’t reimbursed me. Liars and cheats. Seeking litigation now. Don’t be fooled.

Stay away from this operation completely. They are a total disaster, clumsy, no follow up, dead end phone numbers and no service ethics.

American Author House operates at a Three Stooges level of incompetence. The only problem with that statement is that no one at American Author House is smart enough to be Moe. I signed a deal with American Author's House for two novels. Darka's Quest and Severed Ties. American Author House posted two entries of Darka's Quest on Amazon. Despite my many pleadings, the extra listing is still on the Amazon website. I later paid $250.00 to change the cover. They made a new cover that met my approval. Unfortunately. They never uploaded it to IngramSpark. That is only the beginning. I had to pay an extra $400.00 to divide Severed Ties into two books. Severed Ties and Severed Ties II. Lenore's Revenge. American Author House posted an extra incorrect listing of Severed Ties II. Lenore'r Revenge on Amazon. I had to jump through hoops to get it taken down. They delayed the release of the paperback Severed Ties II. Lenore's Revenge because they misspelled the title. I had to correct that blunder. They then told me that they uploaded Severed Ties to Ingram Sparks. That was a lie. They then uploaded Severed Ties with the cover to Severed Ties II. Lenore's Revenge. Any of these errors of competence and negligence on their own may be excusable. Yet the taken as a whole and that American Author House is incapable of correcting their screw-ups makes them a firm to avoid. They will also attempt to sell you marketing packages that are a consummate ripoff. I purchased a social media package for Darka's Quest for $1,100.00. They made me open the social media sites. They did not open a Facebook page. Their postings were AI-written drivel. Please heed my advice. Avoid American Author House like toxic nuclear and biological waste

It has taken them almost a year to get the right version of my book uploaded to the publishing sites. I have had at least six project managers, all overseas as far as I can tell. Bad communication and no follow up. Wrong ISBN number issued. I have asked to talk to a supervisor, no response. I am glad I hired an outside editor to start with as their editing was just formatting with a number of mistakes.

When I was planning to write a book on social problem on " Religions, Science and Human Society' luckily , I came in contact with great intelligent with genius mind , excellent and very cooperative writer , Mr. Jeff Lambert from American Author House company.
