If you are moving more than 50 miles, find another moving company.
American VL got everything wrong from quoting, to packing, loading, transit, and unloading. They didn't do an inventory when we solicited a quote, when we called to confirm the week before they move, they had a half a truck to move our goods, the packers got there late, neither the pack or load were done on time, and then they tried to ask for full payment when they hadn't even delivered the truckers. In addition they had to subcontract to an "independent" packer and mover because they didn't have a truck they could route to our house even though we had this reserved for over a month.

The gentleman that moved our furniture in and out could not have been more efficent or nicer!

Amazing service provided by imperial! We used their hourly service and they estimated the exact amount of time it took. It was an incredibly smooth process and all of our things were treated with care. I would definitely recommend!

The people I worked with were all great. My biggest complaint was the quote of the time of pick up and delivery. It was not made clear that the time quoted was an estimate of arrival time not the time period to arrive and complete the task. That needs to be corrected in your conversations with first time customers.i had to pay overtime to my home help because of this problem.

They under quoted us over 2k but at this point we had no choice but to pay because the movers were already there. It took them about it a week and a half to deliver our things and we noticed several of our items were broken. They were not very helpful in regards to under quoting us and our stuff went through way too many people.

On time. all people were cooperative and supportive. The crew doing the unloading were superior. Moved from Colorado to Florida. Billing was the expected amount.

Driver and crews were excellent

Movers showed up early on the first day promised of the 3 day window. They worked efficiently and were very careful with our furniture and other belongings. Everything was delivered promptly the next morning to our new location. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Edward (the driver) did a great job with his communication and being where he said he would be at any time.
Junior might not have exactly known how the process worked and/or communicated it correctly such as which day the packers would be at our house, how long it would take and when our household goods would be delivered. That made it difficult in knowing what day we could be at our closing on the home.
The guys that did the packing did a good job and the guys that unloaded the truck did a phenomenal job and had it done quickly.
Deanna also did great communicating with us and checking in to see how it was going.

They were a day late for the packing and I had confirmed twice with them on the day. When they did show up they were professional, competent, and gave us confidence in our choice. They arrived at our new home at the time the driver said and unloaded quickly and efficiently.

American van lines was very professional from the moment I called. They were also very efficient-- on call, we went through inventory and within a short time had an estimated cost which was only revised by veteran discount and senior discount. Moving date range was established and actually scheduled through logistics. The $ did not change. The dates for move were refined as we got close to moving date. Driver was assigned a specific date and he showed up when scheduled.
The driver was the ultimate professional. He an his co worker, padded all furniture and loaded the furniture. Delivery date ranged were set and met with exact date and time which was communicated by driver a day before arrival of furniture. Everything was moved in, unwrapped, and placed where we wanted. The driver made the move seamless. Thank you for your professional service. I definitely recommend American Van Lines for anyone moving (large load of small load) I moved from TX to CA

I feel compelled to share my experience in hopes of sparing others from the frustration, stress, and financial loss I endured. I strongly advise against booking your move with American Van Lines.
From the outset, the process was plagued by misleading estimates and inaccurate pricing. What was initially presented as a straightforward, cost-effective move quickly spiraled into a situation characterized by unjustified price escalations and a complete lack of transparency. It became increasingly clear that the initial quote was either irresponsibly optimistic or deliberately deceptive.
The on-site management of the move was chaotic and poorly executed. Communication was inconsistent, timelines were disregarded, and the crew appeared disorganized and ill-prepared. Rather than facilitating a smooth transition, the experience added considerable stress during an already challenging time.
To make matters worse, my attempts to resolve these issues with customer service were met with dismissiveness and a clear lack of professionalism. Instead of addressing my concerns with accountability and integrity, representatives threatened to withhold my belongings unless I paid them immediately. Their focus was not on resolving the situation, but rather on deflecting responsibility and extracting additional payment.
In my view, this company operates with tactics that border on coercive — employing a bait-and-switch model that feels more like legalized extortion than a professional moving service.
Do yourself a favor: avoid American Van Lines at all costs. The short-term savings they promise are not worth the long-term consequences. This was, without a doubt, one of the most regrettable service decisions I’ve ever made.
