I was a member for 10 years

I was a member for 10 years. All the old employees are gone and replaced by young kids who don’t know how to run a business and close people’s accounts for no reason. Don’t let these kids disrupt your whole life cause they’re immature and bad at business. Better options in spearfish.

If I could give minus stars

If I could give minus stars, I would. We have never had good experiences with them and we've been using them for 6 years.
Every time we have an issue, we complain. Nothing happens...until I put a bad review on the internet. Then someone higher up calls and pleads with us to take it down and they are so sorry about our experience, it won't happen again...blah, blah, blah.
This time it's staying up. I'm fed up with them and will be changing services, even if I have to move to another state!

Registration process

Everyone was helpful in setting up a mailbox and getting vehicle registration for my vehicles. Took a while to sort out my paperwork, but working with Mercedes, made it all come together. Kudos to Mercedes! Thank you, Rick

Super happy new customer

I had a great experience from setting up my mailbox to getting my truck registered and plated in a rush. Props to Mercedes for excellent communication and execution!

I was a customer for many years

I was a customer for many years. In the last 4 months I ordered my mail sent to me numerous times. The business isn't that complicated, you get the bags from the post office, you sort it and put it in the corresponding pub, when the customer orders their mail sent, you empty the pub and ship it. August 11th they shipped my mail. I received, a check, several bills, appointment card from the VA and bills. All sent in late May to mid June. When I called they told me I wasn't respectful towards a company I pay and trusted to get all of my mail to me. They didn't like the questions I asked about where was this mail for three months, would you be pissed, I sure would be, the mail manager said I was talking down to him as if he was 12. Funny thing is, if I paid a 12 year old to handle my mail would have gotten to me in a timely manner. He hung up on me several times.
After running customer oriented businesses over the years, I would have tried to calm the customer down, I would have offered to review the security footage and I would tell the customer I'd have the scalp of the person that mishandled the mail on my lodgepole the next morning. Instead I was labeled as a "bad customer " funny thing is I've was a customer since 2008 or so.
The next day the general manager calls me, he refuses to listen to anything I say, starts yelling at me and trying to belittle me, he tells me he deals with stupid phone calls every day and I was stupid. He said when we are through he's gonna fly down to where I am and kick my ass. He tells me that they couldn't have screwed up obviously the post office sent it to the wrong place, I was a usps bulk mail clerk, it don't work like that and anyway if the post office sent it to the wrong place and it was first class mail they would have marked the envelopes up. That coupled with the mail being delivered on different days to this place makes the odds out in space that it would all get lost at once.
He got me so pissed that words were exchanged, he fired me as a customer, I hope the Business owner Donald Humes reads this review.
Anyway between that and the last time I titled anything through them was a complete disaster I wound not recommend anyone to do business with this company under any circumstance.

Terrible customer service and false…

Terrible customer service and false advertising! I sent in the forms to set up my PMB, but heard nothing back from them for over 10 days. I called several times and received excuse after excuse. I was transferred to Donna who never answers. I would leave voicemails, but never got a call back! They say that a PMB can be used for anything, but forget to mention that most banks will not accept a PMB address. Even their welcome kit said that this is due to banks misinterpreting the Patriot Act and it includes a link for a workaround to this issue. However, the link does not work. When I requested a working link, the information included was completely contradictory! It said that the Patriot Act does not allow banks to accept a PMB as your residence and that you need a bricks and mortar address. They suggest using the address of a friend in SD. If I were able to do that, I would not need their service! When I finally got a hold of Donna, she tried to get me to pay her $100 personally to use her address! This screams SCAM!

Avoid this company

The mailbox side of this business was easy and pleasant to work with

Having said that, the vehicle registration side of the business it a total clusterf#ck. Our handler, Lani...I will say her name again so there is no mistake, LANI, was incompetent and downright ignorant. She would read one form we sent her and react immediately to that saying we did it wrong. We would correct the mistake and she would then look at the next form in the packet. We are now 48 days into the process, 32 emails of forms (which involve trips to office Max to print scan and send) multiple trips to a notary because the linked form from her was an outdated one. The checklist provided by her at the beginning we completed, then she informed us that the forms associated with that checklist are no longer used

My guess is she is a former VA employee and is well trained in the art of I just come to get paid not to do actual work.

I recommend immediate termination of this employee or reassignment to duties more suited her abilities, might I suggest human paperweight.

After talking to management, I was informed that this is the way they do business and I would just have to deal with it. I guess that since s Dakota is becoming popular they can be as ignorant, rude and incompetent as they want.

Update number 2 Per Amy, and she agreed to allow me to record the conversation, I quote "if you leave that negative Google review up, we will keep your money, not offer a refund, or complete your registration"

Update 3, received an email from them suspending my account. No reason given, guess they can't handle truthful reviews

Save $ On New Registration

We used Americas Mailbox to register a new RV and save thousands of dollars in the process. Amy was the representative who helped with the process. Everything went very smoothly and we had our vehicle registered and the new license plates in about 3 weeks total. The only downfall thus far in the experience is when you leave a voicemail with the vehicle registration department nobody calls you back : (

Great for vehicle registration, terrible for mail

Overall, it’s a great service for getting vehicles registered in South Dakota. But as a commercial mail receiving agency, I’ve had much better service from smaller shops. This company has grown a lot, so they’ve had to upgrade their website/UI (which was sorely outdated), but I’ve had a lot of problems since the update. I’ve had scheduled shipments continue to ship for weeks despite cancelling them, and most recently I’ve had individual shipment requests “disappear” from the system so mail doesn’t get forwarded.

Emailing and calling is no help. When my mail was lost after multiple erroneous shipments, they said they’d pay for priority mail shipping to the correct location for one incident, and that was it— but even then, they never followed through with reimbursement.

Basically, this service is great when it works, and awful when it doesn’t, and you never know which you’re gonna get.

I even upgraded to their top tier plan in the hopes of fewer screwups and a more personal service, but it hasn’t made a difference. (In that regard, I guess it’s good to know you get the same service no matter what you pay for.)

They also use gmail for everything, which looks unprofessional and it makes me extremely uncomfortable sending sensitive information to a google service.

This is a 5-star service for vehicle registrations, but everyday mail service is 1 Star, so I’ll average it out and make this a 3 star review.
