Considering 104 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with product quality, including unusable glasses, low-quality frames, and lenses that scratched easily or had optical defects. Reviewers frequently encountered poor customer service, describing staff as rude, unhelpful, and difficult to reach, leading to unresolved issues and long wait times. The lady up front when you walk in ack like she don’t want to be here. Then she is real short with you. If they don’t want to be here get them out . Not nice at all to paying customers.then we wanted to look at the frame and the lady said ya need to go and sit down . Not nice . I don’t like people like that .

I had a disappointing experience at…

I had a disappointing experience at America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses. This was my first time needing corrective glasses, so I trusted the guidance I received during my appointment.

I scheduled the visit because I was having serious eye strain from working long hours on the computer. I explained clearly that I have difficulty seeing up close and that, because of my job, I cannot constantly take glasses on and off throughout the day.

The ophthalmologist was professional, attentive, and recommended progressive lenses with blue light protection and anti-reflective coating. After the exam, I was sent to choose my frames. The assistant only discussed pricing and told me the glasses would be ready in two weeks.

When I returned to pick them up, I realized the lenses were not progressive lenses as discussed with the doctor. When I complained, the store manager told me that the store does not necessarily follow the doctor’s recommendations. That was extremely frustrating after spending money and waiting weeks for glasses that do not meet my needs.

Unfortunately, the issue was not with the doctor, but with the store’s communication and execution. As a first-time glasses patient, I expected better guidance, better communication, and more professionalism.

I went to the Fairfax office on Lee…

I went to the Fairfax office on Lee Highway for my annual contact check up. I have been using contacts for almost 40 years and have NEVER left without a “trial” pair. The optometrist usually fits me with a pair of contacts and has me read the chart to ensure a comfortable and mutually satisfying fit. I was told they do not have my prescription which is NOT an abnormal prescription. No stigma, both eyes are the same. I paid $119 and walked out with no contacts to include the trial Pair to tide me over until my contacts arrive?! Therefore I chose to take my prescription elsewhere. It was incredibly inconvenient. I think this is unacceptable!

Poor service and terrible

I took my wife in this week for her eye exam and to get new contact lenses. She is already a customer of America's Best, and we can tell you that a lot has changed. The service is terrible—completely unprofessional compared to the last time we visited. It was unfriendly, and when they handed over the contact lenses, they didn't even ask her to try them on to see if they fit properly—something they *did* do during our last visit. Finally, they didn't offer any special deals or promotions. I regret going back. If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not go to the Dearborn store; I do not recommend it.

GREAT Service

Ms. Kelly was awesome! My Dad broke the side arm on his glasses (15 yrs old) and Kelly was able to find the correct replacement and fix the glasses in an hour!!! So grateful. Everyone was so helpful and nice.

Don't do it...stay away from online!

Ordered contacts online (as I've done for years). Was alerted at the time or ordering that I needed an exam. I was offered an online exam at the time I ordered my contacts. I took the online exam offered by America's Best and received a receipt as well as a prescription the same day as I ordered the contacts. 2 days later I received an email that I had not completed the exam. I contacted the online customer service and ended up having to forward them the email of the prescription they gave me so it could be attached to my order. After 3 more days, I received another email stating that I needed to complete the online exam. I called customer service again and was informed my prescription was not attached, again, I forwarded the prescription. At this point I requested a supervisor to speak to. I was told I would be contacted within 24-48 hours. 50 hours later, after no contact, I called again. This was 10 days after placing, and paying for my order (yes, they charged my card the day I ordered) I spoke to a supervisor who informed me that even though they could see when and how I received my exam and prescription (through their website), the only thing they could do would be to cancel my original order, have me wait 3-5 business days to receive my money back and then replace the order. This was the only resolution I was offered, I did ask multiple times for someone to just "push a button" and send me the contacts I already paid for since this was all caused by a glitch in their system. An excuse I was given is that their website and system had been not updating properly. I ended up cancelling my order, I will not give America's Best any more of my money, ever! I have been a customer with them since the 90's, this did not matter. I have had great in office experiences in the past but due to this online BS, I will never go back!

Had a horrible experience at AB in…

Had a horrible experience at AB in Charleston so this year I decided to give the Spartanburg office a try. The Customer Service SUCKS.The Optometrist was great but I will never go back to deal with their crappy Customer Service again. If you ask a question it is because you are needing understanding not questioned back and told you’re not understood. If I understand I won’t have a question to call with. I’ll pay extra for service elsewhere to keep from dealing with the disrespect.

They canceled my appointment as I was…

They canceled my appointment as I was standing in their lobby. My phone received an alert as I walked in the door, and I questioned the desk as to why I was receiving an alert that my appointment was canceled. It was 430 on the dot and she said that there would be no grace period, and they refused to see us.

Enormously pleased America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses customer.

I am enormously pleased to be a customer with America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses at the Folsom location. I have received new glasses two times over the years from this company and each time the glasses have been most satisfactory. I extensively work with my computer and also play the piano for Church services. Recently, I found the computer words and notes on piano music to be blurred and difficult to read and went to America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses for consultation and assistance. I was prescribed a pair of glasses specifically for close up work and reading. I was most pleasantly surprised and delighted to discover these glasses made the computer words and notes on piano music to be sharp and crystal clear. How indeed grateful I am to the talented employees and Optometrist for granting me the remarkable gift of clear vision with my computer and music. There can be no greater Blessing than the gift of clear vision. The employee, Avery who assisted me, was efficient and a pleasure to work with .

Thumbs up for America's Best, but staffing is tight

I've used various America's Best locations for years, in both the greater metro Atlanta area and now in eastern Iowa. I could not be more pleased with the friendliness and professional helpfulness of the store personnel. Erica at the Davenport (IA) Commons office recently was just a standout. The ONLY thing that caused me to take off one star is not the staff's fault. The offices typically seem understaffed, though the professionals there work very hard and fast to do their best.

I went on Feb 1st to get eye exam and glazes. Ir is now 3/21 and still no glasses. I will agree the frames were very reasonably priced and the eye exam dr very nice. Can not say much good about the lab that puts it all together. LONG WAITING TIME !! This will be the last time to use them. I have read a lot about the frames breaking and the lens popping out so I have yet to see how that is going to be.

Americas Worst!!!!

Horrible customer service and dishoonest. Prescribed glasses I did not need. I went to another optometrist and proved I have 20 20 vision. AB has refused to send the refund owed to me. Corporate office keeps giving me the run around, putting me on hold and not coming back to the phone, changing the story about when the check was mailed to me, saying they have no accounting information so all they can do is have acct stop payment and reissue. Not Americas Best but Americas Worst!!! I have filed a complaint with Ca State Optometry and Better Business Bureau.

The eye doctor seemed to be uncaring and was just "pushing buttons" to get through the "exam." I went there because they had a quick appointment opening, but after explaining to the doctor that I had started to see floaters in my left eye, nothing was done to diagnose these issues.

The staff in customer service were prompt and helpful. Although having gone there for "2 pair for 95", I ended up spending $371.

SAVE YOUR MONEY

They have now made my glassed twice and still not right. Now they want me to come in again and get another exam. The doctor is like 80 and I think he is the problem. Save your money and go somewhere else. Guessed on date because I do not remember when this started.

America's best is literally the worst

America's best is literally the worst. I went there pay for prescription took an exam right and then I expect to get my prescription but apparently they want me to go back now because they offered me to try these bifocal contacts I never got and I don't care I don't want them anyway they ask me for one to try it I said sure maybe I'll try it but I just want to regular prescription up that they gave me a sample pair for right but now I can't keep my prescription and then they want me to come back and take another prescription I don't have time for that like I went there and it took me hours to get the prescription in the first place and then this time they made me wait an hour on the phone on hold just for someone to tell me I need to come back there prescription or say I already have already done but they still they can't make it work and want me to come back to them like I'm going to give them more money for stuff and I need a refund for this person I already took but you say I took cuz I can't get a prescription for 20 years I've gotten I've gone to exams never once have had to come back and not be able to get my prescription it's the only place ever that holds your prescription it's trying to extort you with it like blackmail me for my so I can go buy them some other things to contact when I just want a prescription you know like it's this place is the worst

Highly recommended!!…

I recently stopped by America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses in Hinesville, Georgia, for a routine eye exam, and it was hands down the best experience I've had at any optical store—quick, friendly, and top-tier service all around!
Right from the start, Collette, the classy and professional receptionist, made me feel welcome with her warm greeting and efficient check-in. The whole staff stays on task and is always eager to help, creating a seamless visit.
Manager Jennifer is fantastic—she's out on the floor working alongside everyone, and it's clear she has a strong, positive rapport with her team, which keeps the vibe upbeat.
Dr. Akbar is brilliant and thorough; he patiently answered all my questions about my changing vision and even followed up with a call when I had a follow-up concern. Totally trustworthy!
And tech Raina? She's spot on—got me in to see the doctor without any delay, but still took time to chat and remember details from my previous visit, treating me like family. During my appointment, she even helped adjust my frames on the spot when they felt off.
If you're in Hinesville, this is the spot for eye care. Five stars, no doubt!
