The best TCG store in Amsterdam, with the best choice and, expecially, the best and most friendly staff ever!!! If you love Pokemon, One Piece, Dragonball or TCGs in general, this is the place to go!

I have been going to Amsterdam toys for almost 5 or 6 months now - they are always welcoming to customers and go the extra mile to really create a community at their store! It’s a great store and a great place to hang out and enjoy your hobbies with other people!

Dishonest Shazamterdamtoys.

First of all, The staff is always nice and honest. They always make me feel that they love the Pokèmon Community very much. They hold different card tournaments every month, where really so many different people participate, young and old. They have all kinds of everything in their store loose packs, Collection boxes and elite trainer boxes not only Pokemon related but also one piece, lorcana and different kinds of tcg. They also sell binders full of different loose cards.The prices are always good, even when a hyped set is out they sell their products for normal prices. They always try to avoid scalpers by only selling a maximum of products per person, so everyone can buy something. I am happy and grateful that they exist and happy and grateful for all the beautiful people I have met thanks to them, come by soon and experience it all for yourself.

The store and the tournaments are amazing and smooth and the community/people attending those tournaments regularly are really nice and willing to help new joiners as well as the organisers ofc. Very recommended

I don’t have an interest in collecting any cards, nor do I play any game of cards.
Yet it’s always a massive pleasure to accompany my wife to the store and tournaments as she’s a big card collector and player of the Pokemon card game.
The owners are always in for a chat and welcome people with the utmost friendliness.
It’s a great pleasure to see all the people together enjoying and share their hobby with eachother.
The store itself it tidy and neat with great looking stuff.

writing this in english to warn any non dutch locals. while they have product with decent prices, its utterly awful customer service. they are not welcoming or friendly, and they dont seem to have the care or understanding for tcg community. they run a decent amount of events in a good location, in a region where there arent many local game stores running events; but they themselves barely know how to run them, what makes locals fun, or manage the software. outside of the players that show up, its just store that just offers cold vibes and has space to pay and play events at your own peril. they seem like a store that begrudgingly holds events because thats part of the deal of running a local game store. they sure as hell dont care about how happy you are in coming. even for our dutch cultural standards, theres a difference between being typische cold and blunt assholes and knowing how to run a community based hobby store.

update at the request for more details: please do not misrepresent the situaton in your reply. while i was late, you lied about being able to edit the events after they have started. as an official bandai judge, i have worked with several LGS's as a judge and in the past have assited in repairing by using TCG+ to allow late attendees or others who forgot to sign up to join the local, fix a wrong score submission, or generally recreate a store tournament. i was understanding for the gundam event as perhaps they are stricter for betas, but denying me entry to the one piece local—that had only just paired and players were begining set up—was just insult to injury.

furthermore, you claimed i was dropped from the gundam event, yet the app clearly shows me as still part of the event in the official standings, so whatever reasoning you offered is already leading me to question the quality of your service anymore.

you are well within your right to deny me play, you are correct i was late. other stores are a bit more lenient and friendly, but it is ultimately the TO's decision. at official events, if you are 5 minutes late you are dropped, and theres no negotiating that, im not lost on this concept, strict timing needs to be adhered to ensure all rounds are played in a timely manner. however, the beta event has no official prizing or requirements for rounds, the site and event itself state it is a casual affair. no players were at risk for being robbed or slighted of any opportunity by a few minutes delay. only i am affected by this decision, robbing me of enjoying a new tcg. the beta is meant as a nice moment for players to get together, open the new tcg, and discuss and learn. at bigger scale events i understand being stricter, but at a new test event meant to bring in more/ new players, perhaps some lenience would go a long way; i know i would have appreicated it as i had taken a half day and left work as soon as i could for this given i cannot normally go to play card games at 1300 on a friday, and arriving at 1303 was the best i could do.

you didnt want to talk to me then so im not sure i want to talk with you anymore about it. whats done is done and i dont think anything that can be said will change the events of today. given all of this, i will have to deny your request that i come by the store to discuss it further. i will, i suspect to your pleasure, not be coming by again as i do not feel welcome there. especially for this, as i do not believe its worth any more time, effort, and stress to further discuss this awful experience.

Perfect place to get started with Pokémon for my son Kaiden. Very friendly staff and great community!

My first time there was for a tournament, in Amsterdam is no many places where is possible to play card games so made me so happy find a place for it. After my 1st tournament I could not stop to go weekly there to buy single card, busted, sleeves or anything else from tcg, sometimes I buy a small figure or funky. Definitely is an amazing place an 100% recommend if you like the tcg, Pokémon, One piece, Dragon ball or Lorcana.
