While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Ancestry DNA

Ancestry DNA, what an awful company for customer service, I still have 2 case numbers for help from 22/11/20 and one phone call and still unresolved, all I want is to download my DNA file for comparison, I have followed the on site instruction at least 10 times to access this file I get as fas as we will email instruction and I never ever get one.

So sorry to say quick to take your money but get a problem and customer service is non existent, buyer beware.

Be very careful using Ancestry.co.uk

Be very careful with this company they run an opt out service for a free monthly trial, and their website guides you all the way to supplying your credit card details, even during so called free holiday weekend trials.

The thing that angers me the most is that Ancestry.co.uk are using "OUR PUBLIC RECORDS" to obtain money, this is not expectable to me, why doesn't the British government provide this service to it's people, instead of selling this on to a third party. We all have the rights to our information, after all we provided it in the first place.

This company doesn't even tell you your free monthly trial is up in two days and to tick a box if you wish to start a monthly payment plan, no they hope you forget to cancel your free month before it ends so they can start charging from your credit card that you had to supply first.

This type of practice say's so much about how this company is run, having read a lot about people being charge for quite some time afterwards because they didn't tell them they want to finish after the free trial was over (after all they do have your e-mail address).

If you do choose to use them be careful and even tell them at the same time you sign up you do not wish to continue after the trial period and see what happens.
