I'm Andy Vincent, a personal trainer and strength coach based in Lisbon with over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry. I work exclusively with women, helping them build real, lasting strength through education-based coaching that covers training, nutrition, lifestyle, and recovery. My coaching is built around a long-term relationship. New clients begin with a structured 16-week onboarding phase designed to build a genuine foundation in training, nutrition, and the habits that create sustainable results. It's an education-first introduction that ensures you understand your body, your programming, and the reasoning behind every decision we make together. From there, we continue working together for as long as you want to keep progressing. Every client goes through a thorough intake and injury screening process before we begin, and programmes are updated regularly to reflect your progress and evolving goals. Coaching is delivered online through my custom app, which means we can work together wherever you are. You'll receive weekly check-ins, video reviews of your technique, and direct access to me throughout. Alongside my coaching work, I produce content across YouTube, Instagram, and my podcast, Smart Strength Training, where I cover evidence-based topics including progressive overload, protein, recovery, metabolism, and the psychology of training. Everything I share is aimed at one audience: women who want to train smarter and build strength sustainably. An outstanding trainer, with a wealth of knowledge & supportive guidance

I struggled to get back to fitness following surgery, and started working with Andy last year. Andy has provided a bespoke, structured training programme and an unmatched level of support. This has enabled me to train consistently over 16 months, improving my strength, resilience and confidence. Despite being an online programme, whatever level of programme you choose there is plenty of valuable interaction, feedback and support.

When Andy says he works exclusively with women, this is not a marketing ploy.
His genuine interest and deep expertise in women’s health are evident in the guidance he provides at every stage of training. He consistently shares insights that are both evidence-based and aligned with current research and ongoing conversations within the field, particularly in womens health.

If you’re looking for a professional trainer that is truly committed to helping you in your fitness and lifestyle goals, Andy Vincent is simply the best.

Brilliant Trainer

I’ve had the pleasure of being trained by Andy for the last 5 years. Throughout this time Andy’s trained me, a previously non-runner, through a marathon and into a much more confident gym goer in the weights room. Andy’s flexed my training schedule up and down, from gym workouts to homework’s and back again to suit whatever was happening in my life. This flexible approach and having bespoke workouts have made it so much easier for me to be consistent with my training and enjoying it along the way!

Andy has a wealth of knowledge and keeps up to date with the latest research. There’s so much mis-information in the fitness world so having Andy to ask questions and to learn from, knowing Andy’s response is based on research and years of experience has been invaluable.

I’d highly recommend Andy.

Expert in the field!

What a journey it has been with Andy these last 5 years! I have been at different stages in my life while working with Andy, meaning from
super fit to where I had unfortunately not a lot of gas in the metaphorical tank. At either stage, he stayed with me, gave me confidence, showed creativity to adapt my program(s) to create those small steps that would lead to big steps! The knowledge about fitness, nutrition and health/rest is def at the forefront and what’s great is that he is able to communicate it effortlessly! It has been such a fun and rewarding experience for me and I could not have wished for a better coach!

Six whole years!!

I began working with Andy nearly six years ago. Lockdown meant I had been throwing myself around my living room doing HIIT training but I knew that I wanted to focus on strength training as a form of exercise I could carry on after Covid.

Having him as my PT has kept me more accountable than I ever could have imagined. He creates training programmes which are easy to follow and tailored to however much time and whatever equipment you have available.

Over time I’ve learnt that I prefer longer training blocks so I can really see progression in what I’m doing and he’s happy to respond to this. That said, he changes up my programme enough to keep it interesting and if I get ‘stuck’ with an exercise or don’t see the progression I want, he breaks it down, gives me feedback on my form and pointers on how to progress.

I see him as a non-negotiable, monthly investment because he makes it easy to get in the gym and do something that I now love.

Brilliant trainer!

I have been training with Andy for just under a year and I’m so glad I made the move to being one of his clients.
Despite being a regular gym goer, Andy refreshed my knowledge on all aspects of exercise/technique/nutrition.

All his knowledge is science backed which he clearly is very passionate about. I love this, knowing that I have someone supporting me with proper knowledge rather than trends and fads that flood social media spaces.

Andy is also a realist and understands that life sometimes gets in the way of training and nutrition but has tricks to help you balance it without the guilt society puts on us.

All his clients are women which he talks frequently about on socials, and I feel he has genuinely educated himself on the many life stages women go through and creates training programs to benefit wherever we are in our lives and fitness journeys.
The one thing I really appreciate with Andy is that he is always there, will answer messages and always comes through with what he says he will, when he says he will.

Great personal training and support in improving all round health

Have been training with Andy for just under a year and have found it made a huge difference to my overall wellbeing.
I mainly signed up initially to optimise my training and it is great to have a personalised, well rounded programme with feedback on form and to understand how to progress. Andy has helped me with resistance training, cardio and mobility and I have really felt the benefit of his experience and knowledge.
I have found the additional support around diet, sleep, recovery and hydration etc to be really helpful, with practical advice and regular check ins to keep you focused.

I’ve been training with Andy online for…

I’ve been training with Andy online for around two years and it’s the best decision I made for my training. As a PT, I needed someone who understood my busy lifestyle and keep me accountable for my own training.

I have had many different goals throughout our time together and he always tailors my programme to my specific needs. The mix of progression and variety is perfect for me, which has allowed me to stick to the programme over such a long time.

I would highly recommend Andy if you want to learn new things, progress your training and feel supported in your goals.

I wouldn't want any other coach!

I've been working with Andy for two years now and I wouldn't want to work with any other coach. He is extremely knowledgeable and hugely experienced. As a coach myself, at the outset this made me worry that maybe I wasn't strong enough or perfect enough to work with him. That was a silly concern on reflection, and I shouldn't have worried. Andy met me exactly where I was and I am a better lifter and coach because of him. While being a font of knowledge on the nerdy training stuff, Andy is also very fun to work with with - which helps me to stay engaged and consistent. Grab a spot if/when you can - you won't regret it.

Andy has restored my love to train

Andy has restored my love to train. I am a bit older than the normal gym bunny but Andy designs programs to ensure I get stronger with enjoyable exercises. He is incredibly knowledgeable and will design programs around any injuries to ensure you can still train & strengthen any weaknesses to avoid further injuries. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

An exceptional coach!

Andy is an exceptional coach. His years of experience, combined with a genuine commitment to continuous learning, give me complete confidence in his approach. The progress I’ve made over the past 3.5 years is a clear reflection of his expertise and guidance. From setting ambitious yet achievable goals to his compassionate and empathetic approach, he strikes the perfect balance between pushing you and supporting you. I genuinely couldn’t imagine a better person to guide me on this journey.

Best coach I’ve worked with

Andy’s experience and knowledge really stand out. You can tell he knows exactly what he’s doing and everything is backed by real understanding, not guesswork.

The support and coaching have been outstanding. It is not just about training plans, it is the guidance, accountability and consistency that make the difference. He actually cares about your progress and makes sure you stay on track.

This is more than just trying to get results short term. It feels like a long term approach to improving performance, habits and mindset.

Genuinely the best coach I have had and I love having him in my corner.
