Music did not release on Apple Music

The time that it took to release my latest single was great, however it never released on Apple Music. Maybe the timing is off, but it’s been around a week now and no show on apple services. Other than that it’s all well and dandy.

Hi there.

Your release might not be eligible for Apple.

Please contact our support so we can look into it.

If it's the case that the release is not eligible for Apple, we can help you fix the issues and make it eligible for Apple.

Apple is pretty strict with their metadata guidelines, and we apologize for this but it's entirely out of our control.

Fast and reliable

I switched from Distrokid til Anti-Joy because of them offering more for less, and I am not disappointed. They get your music out fast and they respond to your questions in a timely manner. I can't recommend them enough. Really good.

Hi there.

Thank you for your review.

Even though you've given us a five star review, there is always room for improvements. If you want to, we'd appreciate it if you could edit your review and include what we could improve. If you do not want to do that, we totally understand and that's entirely fine.

We belive customer feedback is the best way to improve.

Have a great day.

Very slow to process releases, extremely rude customer service

Very slow to process releases, very poor customer service. I think they prioritise your processing when you're on the free trial to entice you to sign up for a year and then they shove you to the back of the queue. I regret paying. I had my release canned due to a copyright flag but they didn't even notify me, the release disappeared from my panel and I didn't receive an email - literally nothing. It simply vanished. 0 notification or explanation.

EDIT: Anti-Joy have replied to this to state that my basis for them having "poor customer service" was related to this one incident from today, despite me having messaged them prior to this (on March 31st) and having waited 5 days for a response (received on April 5th). It was over a weekend so that might account for 2 days of that wait time, but it was still an extremely long time to wait. Coupled with the complete lack of notification re: my copyright flag, I conclude that the customer service is "very poor". Of course their subsequent reply has validated this conclusion.

Today, on the other hand, after writing a review on Trust Pilot I get an IMMEDIATE response. How strange! It seems to me that they are more concerned with the artifice of providing good customer service than the actual reality of doing so. Perhaps anybody who wants a prompt (and yet extremely rude and snarky) response to their query should simply write a review on Trust Pilot and be sent to the front of the queue.

Additional edit: Now when I log in to my dashboard I am greeted with a blank page (despite their website landing page still working). Perhaps I have been banned for the crime of paying for their service and writing a 2-star review, or perhaps the website is just bad. Regardless, does not bode well.

Hi, Ciaran.

I'm sorry about your experience.

We do not prioritize any releases over others. Releases are reviewed in the order they have been uploaded.

There can be various reasons as to why the review process might have taken longer, but that's a question for customer support and not me.

We are currently having an issue with delivery of releases, but hope to have it resolved in a few days so we can go back to having released delivered same day as they were reviewed.

We have the absolute best customer service. So if you can please elaborate on why you think our support is poor, please do.

However, here is what I can see from my end.

You've contacted customer support once, and that was two hours ago. So your basis for poor customer support is contacting us once and not waiting more than two hours for a response, even though you are contacting us while support is out? Great :)

Very good

Had some problems with royalty withdrawals. Which was fixed by the team. Overall great experience. Great distributor. Can't wait to see it grow.

Advocate for Artists

After deciding to put out my first album, and after doing research I felt that Antijoy was the way to go. I'm so thankful I made that decision. Through the whole process they were so helpful, as their little help chat bubble actually works and works well. You get real humans, who care about music, talking to you and working through the issues. My album cover got denied by a certain store and within maybe 10 mins of me sending the new cover to an employee named Jonas the album was live in the store. I really couldn't have done it without antijoy as a distributor AND and advocate for a starting artist.

Great service!. Hoping to keep seeing their growth! and improvement!!

They always helped me out with my releases on time, I can always ask them anything refering to using Royalty free samples or acapellas and how to have them correctly cleared, as well as always being kind and really patient.
It can still improve a bit more by having a constant response rate.
Some times I would have to wait for the next day to hear a response, or sometimes it's instantly lmao but that's it!, great service!

Very good service for a more-than-reasonable price

Quick response to any message I sent them. I hope they will add more to their FAQ section, so I can find answers quicker by myself, but its easy to get those answers from them by sending a message. You get a lot for the basic, flat price and they seem to have an aspiration to add more. So far, so good.

Exceptional Music Distributor

This was my first experience with a music distributor, and I could not have wished any better. I was a little hesitant at first because this company was not very known. However almost immediately after I asked customer service, I got a response, and since then the experience has been wonderful. My song went live when I asked them to and they always respond very fast. I fully recommend this music distributor.

Wow. Anit-Joy is the greatest.!

Wow.. Anit-Joy is the best music distribution service I came across of. Anti-joy treated me like a customer before I became a customer which is hard to find in the world of business.

The one downfall at the moment is not distributing to Facebook and Instagram but still, the service is amazing for the amount of money I pay.

Thanks Anti-joy.. Keep doing the most.

First impressions aren't everything

First release was good, then most of my professionally made artworks started getting rejected when even the artist name started getting detected as "unnecessary text" and many other false/nothing reasons. And the fun part is those same releases with those same artworks were live for years via other distributors! When i raised an issue with this and mailed them individually about each release, i got no reply on most of them and just repeating the same non reason started earlier, on two of them

Hi there.

Unfortunately, the guidelines are set by stores and we have to follow them.

Stores require that the text in the artwork is IDENTICAL to the information listed in the metadata. That means, if the artist name is "Superman The Band," but it's written "Superman" on the artwork, it's not allowed.

Stores also require that the artworks in question aren't pixelated or blurry, and that it's a minimum of 3000x3000.

Some distributors can get past this requirement due to size and capitalism. Which is incredibly unfair for smaller businesses like ourselves, as we have to adhere to these rules. However, supporting capitalism is up to you as the user.

We always respond to emails and chat messages pretty quickly. If you haven't gotten a response. It's possible the email wasn't sent or ended up in a spam filter.

If you need more information about the guidelines set by stores, please refer to the Apple Music style guide which can be found here:
https://help.apple.com/itc/musicstyleguide/en.lproj/static.html

Check point 7 (especially 7.1 and 7.2) about artworks. There you'll see that we are simply adhering to the rules of the services we distribute to. Simply put. You are reviewing Apple and not our services.

Have a good day.

Anti-Joy’s Service Is Unmatched

What a great customer service team Anti-Joy has. They respond quickly and attentively, something that seems to be lost amongst the larger distribution companies. I would be willing to pay more for this service if they charged—that’s how good they are. Never looking back at TuneCore or any others again.

Honest and Good Distribution

Honest and Good Distribution

Anti-Joy is a honest, good and very supportive distributor. With their fast and helpful support it makes it one of the best distributor companies i made a part of as an artist. Even trying to protect the artists from time to time, like if there could be any copyright issue with their release. They always have the best intention and really try to show they care.

If your not sure if you should work and try Anti-Joy as your own distributor, just remember "you never really know until you give it a go".

Be free to do as you please, but i would give it a try. You'll be actually suprised how a small team of awesome people can be such a blessing as distributor.

Yours truly,

-

Great Support

Great Support! Highly Recommend. I would recommend that they add more info to their website about what they offer, and when is the On-demand merch store coming? And what promotional tools do you offer?

I think its a very progressive company but

I think its a very progressive company, however the customer service should be more professional with communication and more precise with information.

UPDATE: After 2 releases I realised that there actually isn't any playlist promotion or pitching as stated in your website. Like i said before also, customer service should be more professional in communication and more precise and helpful with feedback and information. There was an instance i asked about a particular service and the reply was just ''No'', no extra information, no professional reply, just a plain and simple 'No'

I do not feel like the company cares about me as a customer, and also from your revised new offers I do not understand why there are better advantages for 5 artists compared to solo artists which is why i said the comnpany feels 'band focused'

LAST UPDATE: Thank you for trying to clarify the 5 artists thing, I think by collaborations you mean features...if that is it then i understand and i was wrong about them being 'band focused'

You implied that me saying customer service replied to me simply saying 'No' was a lie, i think the better response would have been to simply apologize and assure me that your communication and customer service have gotten better instead of stating here that what happened to me personally is not true. ( this is a clear example of what i mean when i say the company should be more professional in communication)
I have noticed that the customer service has gotten better though which is why i say this company is progressive because it seems they read and apply useful reviews.

In your reply you clearly ignored the part where i stated there is no playlist promotion even though that is one of the 'bonuses' you advertise on your website (and also one of the reasons i was drawn to this company out of the rest).

I will be cancelling my subscription, however i think this company has a lot of potential but just seem quite new. Hope you will be big in future.
And oh i love the name a lot its really cool ANTI-JOY

Hi, Desmond.

Thanks for your review!

We always try to respond within a timely and professional manner, as well as provide accurate information. For release times, it can sometimes be hard to provide accurate information as it depends on a lot of stuff, if it's not about release date, sorry about that, and as our team grows and improves, that issue will hopefully be sorted!

We don't specifically see ourselves as a band-focused distributor. We work with a lot of solo artists. If it's the 5 artist slots, that's mostly for artists who collaborate with other artists as well.

If there are any specific features you think are missing, don't hesitate to let us know! :)

Reply to updated review:

First off, it's simply not true that our customer support replied with a plain "No".

You seem to misunderstand what "5 artists" actually means. It has nothing to do with bands or solo artists. It just means you can distribute music for up to 5 artists. This is, in fact, very useful for solo artists. As some solo artists do collaborations with other artists. This means they can collaborate with up to 5 artists in total.

A band is also just "one" artist name. Meaning one artist slot would be fine for bands as well. Therefore, it has nothing to do with whether you are a band or not.

Reply to second update:

Sorry, I missed the thing about playlist promotion. We do actually offer playlist pitching as we claim, but maybe not in the way that you think. For some stores like Spotify. You pitch your music to playlists using Spotify for Artists. And for some other stores like Apple Music. Only your provider (distributor) can pitch music to their editorial playlists. However, we automatically pitch our artists' music to these editorial playlists (for stores like Apple Music, iTunes, etc., we cannot automatically pitch to Spotify, as that's done via the Spotify for Artists platform).

I hope that cleared up the confusion.

If you are looking for something like OneRPM's pitching to their playlist partners or something like Distrokid's Spotlight feature. That's not currently something we offer. But we are working on some amazing playlisting features that's never been seen before and we can't wait to announce it.

my first release was smooth

my first release was smooth, and then it's time for the second release. i was submitted the track around 23rd may, the process was smooth, changed from processing to delivered around 3 days and chose the release date 27th june (which is almost 5 weeks) should be more than enough to avoid delay or something similar. but then it's 28th june evening the release still can't be seen anywhere, it's not live yet. emailed them 2 times + send them an instagram dm for any explanation, when they usually reply in minutes / hour, they haven't replied till now.

Worst than free distribution services

Please read this review before purchasing antijoy plans.First of all they doesn't provide content I'd and many main store's such a instagram etc... Please check it before buying any plan. And they don't even fix it even after months. For 20$ others provide all stores including content I'd .You will get many other distributors who is a lot better than this. Even free distribution services now provide content I'd. This is such a shameful thing. Please don't waste your money.Content I'd is much important because i get a lot of streams in YouTube. It's not about copying others .And i also read reviews like me who are facing this issues and also other .This is such a lame excuse. For me i get a lot of views and streams on youtube and i don't want others to use my song without giving any rights to me and there is no use for me even after giving copyright strikes. This is my personal opinion i don't like this distribution service and I have already switched to another distributior. They does the job well.If you are looking for normal streaming services you can go still i don't recommend it.If this issues get's fixed i will update the review .

Hi there.

We don't claim to distribute to Content ID anywhere, so this isn't really a valid review of our services.

Many people can do without Content ID. It shouldn't really be a deal-breaker, unless your intent is to upload stolen music.

Sure, some other distributors have Content ID (and we will too soon). But free distributors aren't really "free." They charge a percentage of your royalties.

Some paid distributors also charge a percentage, and the ones that don't, tend to have a bunch of other fees. Most distributors have a fee for Content ID (in the form of a percentage or yearly fee). Most paid distributors (that aren't us), also have hidden fees for basic stuff like Shazam/Siri.

Most other distributors also lack many of the features that we offer, such as smartlinks, presave links, artist websites, merchandise (soon), stats, no royalty commission, promoart generator, newsletters, playlisting, recoupments, splits, detailed reports, best and most proactive customer service, and much more.

If Content ID is your only concern for what makes distribution good (which it must be based on the fact your review is a 1-star review), that means you likely intent to distribute stolen music.

Even without Content ID, you will be paid for streams on YouTube.

Edit: You said YouTube Music. YouTube Music is monetized via Anti-Joy whether you have Content ID or not enabled. Content ID is only for reuploads of your music on YT.
