I fail to see why AOL need to regularly request I "prove" who I am - I have had my same account for at least 20 years. This annoying incessant pop-up rubbish NEVER happens with my Gmail account.

Actually, less than zero. After Yahoo got involved with AOL, one of my inboxes was deluged with spam. Now, if I understand correctly, Yahoo has sold AOL on, so let's hope there is substantial change... See more

Order cancelled at short notice.

Ordered and paid for a larder fridge 2/3 weeks ago which was supposed to be delivered this Friday, aol phoned today to say there was a hold up and they didnt know when it would be in stock again. Less than 48hrs notice for a cancellation of delivery is just not acceptable! I doubt this fridge was ever actually in stock. I asked for compensation and was offered a £20 voucher off any future order, I doubt it'll be used.

An AOL member since the beginning!

I've been an AOL user since the year 1990, and even though I've tried other servers, I have kept AOL because it fits all of my working and personal email needs. It is a very friendly server, very easy to use, and everything I've learned on how to use all the benefits of a PC I've learned from AOL through their Help feature. I hope they will keep offering services because I am not planning to switch.

Purchased a range cooker and cooker hood 4 weeks before delivery date. Afternoon before expected delivery received an email stating delivery now 3 weeks late and cooker not in stock. New kitchen is being fitted next week so we have no cooker. AO are selling appliances they don't have in stock. Now we have to wait 7 days for our money back this is a shoddy company one to avoid.

AOL wont fix spam blocking

AOL mail is probably the worst option for spam mail. I get around 100 spam mail a day from one source who slightly modifies their address so every "sender" is different.
AOL spam blockers are 100% ineffective in these circumstances. Tech support offer no help whatsoever.
I see that others were complaining 6 months ago to AOL about mail the same sender, but no positive action has been taken.
My particular issue is with a sender using the mail address ending @ (variable) . zoqloq, com

I have a new device and cannot remember my email password autosaved on old device. I contacted aol customer service for assistance. However I discovered that aol charges for customer service help thru some sort of "premium" thing for premium plan customers (premium for email addresses???). Also they were unable to help me because they could not verify the name on my account. Apparently youre not allowed to use stage names, nicknames or aliases as account names. Ive had this aol account since when the company first launched and internet was dial up. However after this experience, I now desire to delete my accounts and never deal with them again. Crappy service and crappy company.

I just talked to some idiot in India

I just talked to some idiot in India. I have tried resetting my account password and exhausted my recovery account options because I never received the text message to my phone nor did I receive an email to my recovery email account. I was told that I need to speak with the person that set this account up originally. That was me 25 years ago. He kept telling me the same thing. They are incompetent in India. I am beyond pissed off about this. Now I can't get any of my emails.

THE WORST!!

Sadly, Verizon FIOS, a great ISP, farmed out its email component to AOL. I use Outlook, Yahoo, and Yandex. NONE of those services rack up the amount of spam the way AOL does. If I get 5 spam emails a year with those other services it's a lot. With AOL...I rack up at least 25-40 spam emails A DAY. That's just insane. Yes, they go to my spam folder, but it seems as if AOL actually encourages spam, whereas all of the other online services block spam. If I didn't need AOL to get my Verizon FIOS bills, etc., I'd dump it in a New York minute.

Still waiting for my promised call from aol.
I am so angry that I trusted them to install my oven @ a cost of £100 to find it did not work due to them pushing it back too far!!
Pushing so hard on a plug that its indented the casing & stopped the fan working.
So could this be a problem in the future?
It was NOT fitted properly so I should be refunded.
After buying from aol for many years & so have friends & family, this is the last time.

Poor Service just blanked me

I have been with AOL for many years. Recently my email address got comprised and the account was blocked.
About two weeks after it was blocked I asked AOL if I could get access to my old emails as I was fighting a scam/fraud case and l needed information from emails to pass to my Credit card company.
Initially they were quite helpful but to date have not given me access, I have sent at least 4 chase up emails but they have just ignored them even though I have explained my situation.
I feel completely let down by AOL.

I have spent hours literally on the phone trying to correct my problem. I was hacked and I reset my password. I would not work/I have talkied to three different associates. Last time I was on the phone for over 2 hours. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor and she said they will just tell you the same thing and would not put them on. I have been with your company for many years and this experience is so far pass unexceptable. This girl kept saying try the password again altho I e told her it was saying invalid. Then she tells me after 2 hours that we can't keep trying it cause we tried it too many times. All I want to do is get back into my emails. I am going to try one more time in a couple hours and then I am going to stop my automatic payment cause she said I couldn;t call and cancel with you because they would not be able to pull up my account without a poassword. What kind of establishment is this.

unusual volume of explicit SPAM

i’ve had an AOL email address for 20+ years so SPAM is to be expected. Up until recently they did a reasonable job of recognising & quarantining SPAM but over the last few months the volume of obvious SPAM ending up in my in box is ridiculous. Unhelpful unsympathetic boiler plate responses from customer services. Seems to be an service wide issue from what i’ve read on various forums. Time to start the switch me thinks.

I have a UK aol account but keep getting 50 plus US spam emails per day. Most are from the same address but with some different numbers in the address. Blocking them make no difference and AOL no longer seam to have a proper complaints department email to report these issues to.

Password Reset

My mother recently moved to a nursing home in late July and are in process of setting up her Facebook account. The problem is that she does not remember the password for AOL or Facebook to use these accounts. The options for her to gain access to her password is through a landline phone that does not receive text messages, and a cellphone that she no longer owns. I called the password reset phone number and spoke to a foreigner that I couldn't understand, and he told me that she needs to buy a monthly service plan and all I want is them to reset my mother's password. Terrible customer service!!

Worst crap on the web

Honestly, AOL is the worst. Worst at customer service, worst at communication, worst at everything. If the world was a fair place, AOL would have been torched and burned, with its CEO and CFO hauled out for a round of tarring and feathering. The service is slow, and the service is biased.

Aol had delete all my emails without making a public notice statement warning consumers that they will now start permanently deleting all emails after 12 months.

It would at least be a courtesy if they waited until you logged on to let you know this. Decades of research gone without prior warning. If you have not logged in for over 12 months they delete EVERYTHING!!! Ive had that account for 20 years.

This is horrific and devastating. Im begging people to completely never use aol and even start a class action law suit. Im willing to bet the person making this decision is some intern a-hole with no life experience and deserves his head chopped off

They used to be pretty decent until Verizon ended up owning them, then they went down hill (Verizon has the worst CS phone lines I've ever seen). Too many times when I try to connect I get message "site can't be reached try again later". Too many of their own ads. Improve your service starting to get to much spam also.
