I’m shocked how they treat their housekeeping staff , the management speaks very rude with them, even us customers some of us we think they deserve to be respected way much more… stop bossing them around and screaming on them in the corridors because guests can hear it too and it does put a very bad image on hotel ! As well if you act with them so inappropriate and rude in the corridors what’s happening when the guests can’t hear it ??? Terrible because they prepare rooms very well and always do service them on time. Apex Hotel Bath Higher authority please take this into consideration. We would not be returning back to this Apex hotel if it’s going to continue like that. I saw how upset that person was , no one deserves to be treated like this.
APEX Edinburgh grassmarket Hotel
The cost of the room was £300+ and for that price, one has an expectation of standard, quality, comfort & service.
Going to our room, there were dirty ear buds on the carpet in the hallway. When we entered our room, we found the bathroom cleanliness unacceptable as there was mould on the anti-slip mat, the tile grouting and around the edge of the bath (we have photos).
We stayed on a day when the outside temp. exceeded 30 + deg. C and our room temp. was approaching 40 Deg. C. We did not have a pleasant night as sleep was impossible in these conditions..
No aircon or ventilation was available & we could not open the window sufficiently to obtain fresh air. We asked at reception for a different room but the response was to offer a 2nd fan which was ludicrous as it did nothing but stir hot air round.
At check-out, we made known our issues to the duty manager - she offered 25% discount and we asked for further discount as in our opinion, the cost of our stay was worth much less. She stated that this was all she was permitted to offer without contacting a senior manager. As our schedule was tight we could not afford to wait & we reluctantly paid the bill.
Our stay in Edinburgh at your hotel was neither a happy or enjoyable experience we will not be recommending you to friends, family or colleagues and our trustpilot review will reflect this.
We haved since received an email form Apex Hotels offering an apology from one of their managers with a further discount. We are now happy to close the issue and put it behind us. Thank you Apex.
Paying money for nothing
I’ve booked room in this hotel, however I was not able to attend due to work engagements. I’ve spoke with a representative from the hotel Ms. Amanda and she said that they will take the payment although I never showed up. She also offered me a different date for my stay but at the higher rate.
Overall it’s one bad experience.
Very poor level of cleaning at Bath Apex Hotel.
The shower was levelled incorrectly meaning water didn't drain out all the way. So we returned to our room with it smelling of stagnant/still water.
Adding to this the floor of the shower felt mouldy to the foot and there was mould in several places in the shower. A little bit of bleach on it for 5 minutes will remove this which made us feel like the shower wasn't getting cleaned.
One of our towels had a big reddish brown stain on it which again made us question the level of cleaning being applied.
We left the room in the morning and left the sign on the door asking for the room to be refreshed. We returned at 4pm to see that hadn't happened, we went to the spa to give them more time to clean the room. At 5pm we returned to the room and the cleaner had only just got in there and was still in there. He left without cleaning the toilet.
Our stay was only 2 nights so we didn't feel it was worth changing rooms Saturday evening, but this was a real disappointment for us.
Apex city hotel Bath
I have had the worst service and breakfast experience EVER at this hotel, I have a lot to write down but I’ll make it short.
*breakfast was horrible, waited ages to be seated and then we thought it would be a buffet! The waitress took ages to come take our order and the tables around us was all filled with dirty dishes no one did cleared them out.. when the food came I lost my appetite because of the dirty environment and the food tasted like poison.
*we requested for robes and we were told they don’t give robes to our type of booking! We actually paid £478 for 2 nights in this hotel!!! How do we not get robes?? I would get a luxury stay for similar amount in London
*Then the pool area, there wasn’t any pool person around the swimming pool and I was like what if someone was drowning??? Nobody to help!
If you don’t want a terrible stay, avoid this hotel at all cost as there is nothing luxury about it
Not a pleasant experience
Poor staff numbers on arrival, queues for check-in with staff simply hanging about and twiddling their thumbs.
Queues for breakfast and service attrocious.
The room was freezing and we contacted staff on the first night who promised us a resolution, and then never bothered to call back.
Room cleanliness and hygiene was poor, and was not adequately stocked with bath robes, towels, and basics of shower gel/ shampoo, etc.
It was only upon second day of complaint was this finally resolved.

Had a notification our hotel was cancelled 3 days before arrival and moved to the opposite side of town. Been trying to contact them via email and on booking.com but have been ignored.
Have had our hotel rooms cancelled by…
Have had our hotel rooms cancelled by Apex Temple Court Hotel London 9 days before our check in date due to over booking by the hotel. These rooms were booked and payed for in February 2021 before the hotel was fully booked let alone over booked for our reservation dates. How does the company feel that this is a morally acceptable to treat their customers in this way. Shame on you, DISGUSTING.
Two comfortable and enjoyable days in Bath Apex
Spent two comfortable and enjoyable days in Bath. Rooms clean and tidy; toiletries topped up. Dificult to find a suitable, convenient slot for breakfast; all booked up. Dining staff were pleasant and helpful. They attended to every request politely and willingly. Clearing of tables was exceedingly noisy and distractiong.
Reception staff were friendly and efficient, as were the bar staff
Lack of a dedicated car park is a problem; and there are no "contracts" with car parks
Short-staffed - Covid issue - as all hotels are. Baggage transport to room was d.i.y. - alternative was to get reception staff to vacate post and help with our luggage
Little gestures e.g offering a token to get a celebratory glass of wine for a birthday/anniversary, shows the caring and obliging attitude
2 stars for dinner at Apex Dundee :-(
2 stars for dinner at Apex Dundee :-(. Veggie burger was undercooked - and at £14.50 for a veggie burger that is a cardinal sin!! I know we are vegetarians but we still want food that’s cooked properly!! £60 price tag for a very very disappointing dinner. Won’t be back!
Disappointment on a grand scale
Apex Grassmarket Hotel in Edinburgh was a disappointment on a grand scale. I enjoyed the city, but the hotel was a total letdown; it was old and rundown, with poor customer service. Walls marked. Stains on the carpet that appear to have been discoloured by a chemical or something. The bed was as hard as stone and made sleeping impossible. The staff was unable to assist as no top mattresses were available to soften it. The water in the swimming pool was filthy. The sauna was broken. Why? After all, this is not a cheap hotel. I paid £161 for a mediocre hotel that was no better than some cheap guesthouses. Will I be back definitely not. Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Fantastic service and friendly staff at the Apex hotel Dundee
Spotlessly clean and given the issue we have just now a credit in how the look after customers
The swimming pool was open but the other facilities we’re still waiting to be back operational COVID-19 depending
The meal we had was absolutely fantastic however the £8 extra for the 6oz steak was expensive
Ok the steak was fantastic but still overpriced which was a shame given the service and the rest of the meal
The only thing was the room temperature which was an issue but not under apex hotels control given that the rooms don’t have air conditioning
Fantastic stay and that you for your friendly assistance at all times
Thanks

Apex Hotel Bath.
I am doing this to show how rubbish customer service is a paramount to a hotel and results in you getting a terrible review.
I would have given 4 or 5 but your staff let you down.
Reception was great and helpful, dining staff really below par for a 4 star hotel.
Never argue with paying customers, they end up taking to Trust Pilot, Booking.com and Trip Advisor.
Great company, great hotel
Have stayed at a few Apex Hotels in Edinburgh and Bath and have always had a great experience. Staff are warm and friendly and can't do enough for you. Lots to love about the hotels and each has its own character, but is still uniquely "Apex". Recommended.
Absolute Disapointment
Stayed at Apex Edinburgh Castle View Hotel.
I visited Edinburgh for a few days, to explore and enjoy the beauty of the city and unfortunately decided to stay at this establishment called Apex. I loved the city, but the hotel was a complete disappointment, the old and poorly managed with very poor customer service.
--- The hotel advertises some of the facilities as a part of the hotel package when in reality the facilities are closed. After questioning why the reception staff blames the booking. com for not updating the information.
--- About the customer service, employees do not know basic information about the hotel, therefore failing to provide any assistance when required. Rude and careless, extremely unhelpful. Instead of helping its guests, they blame someone else, very poor.
--- About the hotel, the hotel is poorly managed, the facilities are old and worn.
. I have never in my life slept on an older and cheaper mattress in my life, sleeping on the floor would feel nicer.
. The chair in our room was broken and it was not possible to adjust the height, instead every time someone sits on the chair the height of the chair would go all the way down.
. The desk which TV was placed on is damaged, had some stickers on.
. Walls marked.
.Some white stains to the carpet look like discoloured by some chemical or something + coffee/bloodstains, not entirely sure what is it.
. Poorly cleaner, dust everywhere, and limescale in the shower.
.Water in the swimming pool was really dirty.
.Hair drier melted and stop working when it is overheated.
It is my personal experience and opinion about this hotel, hope someone had better and a small notice, there are few people working there that do provide good customer service, like 2 do not recall their names. thanks
APEX Bath Hotel
APEX Bath Hotel - Hotel is nice and clean, customer service and cleaning staff truly awful. I stayed at the hotel last week for 3 nights. During our stay my friend realised that her earrings were missing, we assumed that she had placed them somewhere else in the room and would find them when packing. On the morning of our departure I also realised that some of my earrings were also missing.
We reported this to the front desk team, the first member of staff laughed when we said what had happened. The manager on shift at the time took our details and promised he would look into it. We were promised an update within 4 days, the update/call never happened. I had to call the hotel for an update and go through the whole scenario again as the details had no been registered or looked into. I received a call today from the manager looking into it and she basically shared that there was no way that the member of staff who cleaned the room that day took anything, as she has been working with them for a long time. Basically this is telling me that both my friend and I are lying? Who lies about items being stolen from the room? I know I personally have more important things to do with my time.
My advice is to not bring anything of value to this hotel, they have thieves amongst their team, even worse they have a management team who are incompetent and unable to manage a compliant in the correct way. I personally will never stay with the Apex Hotel group again.

This company claims they are carrying about all employees- I work for them and is the worst place I ever work for in my 16 years experience in hospitality.
Apex hotel Glasgow.
So check in is 14:30. We arrived at the hotel at 14:30 only to be told our room wasn’t ready. Room not ready until after 3pm. So not a great start. Got to the room and it was stinking of smoke. They did send the house cleaner to put some machine in to clear the air. (Lucky we were going out). The air conditioning in the room is extremely noisy so we had to put that of at night to try and get to sleep. Upon arriving back to the hotel around 9pm we thought we would have a few drinks in the bar before retiring up to our room. Bar staff was very rude to myself and my wife. Will I be back definitely not. Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
Apex Waterloo Place, Edinburgh
My worst night ever in any hotel.
The bed was hard as stone and impossible to sleep in. The staff could not help because there were no top mattresses available to soften it.
Why? This is not a cheap hotel after all.
I travel a lot, but this hotel was definitely my worst night out ever, and I will not come back.
On the positive side: nice hotel in other respects, very friendly staff, ok restaurant (but disastrous wine selection). But no use when you cannot sleep.
Apex Hotel Glasgow
Stayed for 4 nights in the alleged 4 star hotel.
Pros:
great location for city centre
Very clean modern hotel
Great friendly staff - really nice staff!
Cons:
Smallest room I have ever stayed in, especially in a 4 star hotel, just about room to walk around the bed
No sofa or table/chair in room to eat at
Awful restaurant, just dont bother
Odd arrangement with towels, no where to hang towels in bathroom, one hook on the back of the door but no towel rail for showering and drying towels
Tiny wardrobe space for 2 people
Style over substance
So, great hotel for one night maybe and no eating in the restaurant which has a weird assortment of tables and too trendy chairs making comfortable dining difficulty - dont try room service as there is no where to eat only in your bed
I did express all these opinions to the staff on leaving whose response was that I had only booked a standard room (!!) in a travel lodge or premier Inn maybe you can get away with this but in a 4* hotel, I expect better. Felt a bit conned.
