While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I've been using AQL for 13 years for my NPO's incoming landline calls. Never had any complaints against them but their price hike in June has basically priced us out as a customer, i.e. suddenly a £16... See more

How very strange that others give bad reviews of AQL. I've had first 2 then 3 numbers with them for over 10 years and found it a 5 star service. I'm talking about their £2 a month phone numbers, call... See more

In almost all instances when there is a suspected scam or similar on one of our numbers, it’s not aql, but overseas scammers using third-party networks to spoof calls. If you believe you’ve been contacted by a suspicious or fraudulent party, please report it to us here (we can act more quickly if you let us know the exact number that called you). In addition to reporting to us, you can also report issues directly to Ofcom too.

I participated in AQL's hackathon in Leeds and I particularly enjoyed it. Ahead of the hackathon, all the docs, notes, code repositories, etc where sent ahead of time. You were told exactly how your system should be setup so that you hit the ground running once your arrive (you wouldn't be bogged down with setup trivia at the venue).
The expectations from the Hackathon's where very clear, the tasks and how to go about them was also well explained.
They also had Staff on ground to help folks who might have issues either understanding or implementing the tasks.
The success criteria was also quite clear leading up to how the winners in the hackathon emerged.
In an LLM first world now, I really liked how forward thinking they were to include some of that into the hackathon.
Generally I think the hackathon was beautifully organised and well thought through.
One place of improvement I'll recommend is that the Hackathon woulld solve novel issues that have not been already solved in either the IOT, energy or environment space... whilst the Hackathon may not provide enough time to solve the issue... it might be the foundation of Open Source Software contribution for most of the attendees.

We recently worked with aql to develop a platform for our remote unit, which required expert software solutions to enable precise control over its functions both remotely and nearby. From the very beginning, the team at aql demonstrated exceptional expertise and a thorough understanding of our unique requirements.
Their platform has significantly streamlined our operations, ensuring smooth control and reliable performance. The communication throughout the process was outstanding, and they were quick to address any questions or adjustments we needed along the way.
If you’re looking for a software company that combines technical know-how with a customer-centric approach, I highly recommend aql.

aql is a highly professional company; queries are answered quickly and efficiently. Support staff are knowledgeable and focus on actually resolving customer issues, rather than simply closing tickets. Very refreshing attitude.

From the first meeting, the team at AQL was extremely helpful, guiding me through everything—from the initial agreements and facility tours to the onboarding process. Unfortunately, I had to recently dismantle our installation due to IT restructuring, but I couldn’t recommend this data centre more highly. The setup at Salem Church is world-class, and the security measures are exceptionally reassuring.

My team won a really enjoyable event. Thank you to Josh and AQL for taking the time to organise this.

I found the hackathon to be very well planned.
A lot of thought had gone into designing the smart city scenario and much hard work must have gone into the varied challenges that were set and the way they functioned in a browser-friendly web application.
The difficulty level was a bit beyond me as a beginning level coder, but thankfully others on my team picked up the slack.
I had lots of fun and it was a great experience, but since the event was promoted in first-year university lectures, it would have nice either to have had a few tasks that were within the reach of computer science freshers, or a debriefing afterwards to explain how some of the tasks could have been completed.
Nonetheless, the event still definitely deserved 5 stars.

aql hosted an exceptional hackathon on our campus at the University of Huddersfield. Our undergraduate students completed a series of challenges increasing in difficulty, and had to work together using the skills they have developed on their Computing and Computer Science degrees to solve these real-world problems. The aql team were incredibly supportive, professional and friendly with all the students, and I would recommend this as a brilliant activity to engage students in developing their skills beyond their course in preparation for the workplace.
