Don’t go here!

The people at the entrance were nice, but the lifeguards not so much.

I was working as a playworker for a group called “speelplein” and we were there with a group of 4 adults and 46 kids. One of our kiddos spat down the stairs in the pool. And to be fair thats disgusting.

We talked to the kid and said he should apologize and perhaps sit with us for a while. They were really incomprehensible of the fact that we were with such a big group and threatened to kick us all out. All 50 of us! They said we should either “kick the 14 year old out by himself” or “one of the adults goes with him”. I asked if him sitting with us and saying sorry was enough and he replied with a smirk and attitude and said “no thats not possible”.

After consulting his fellow lifeguards he came back and said the following :”We are going to give you a warning for now. One more incident and all 50 of you are out! And not just the kids, you too!”

Try collecting all 50 teenagers ages 10-15 in a swimming park and giving them the briefing we got a warning and they have to behave extra hard because otherwise we get kicked out.

All 4 of us adults were stressed out of out minds and didnt get to enjoy at all.
Coming from a ‘grown man’. This was embarrassing and blown way out of proportion. His reason was calling it “education”.

It might just be me that finds this absurd, but maybe next time have a lifguard give big groups a brief briefing with expectations and rules. Cause the way they handled it was inhumane.

Also you cant bring your own lunches. If you want to eat something in the pool goodluck. We had to wait atleast 1 hour for something to eat. Fix your logistics please.

And definitely dont go here with dutch native language groups. There was 1 lifeguard that “understood” Dutch. And 1 lifeguard that “understood” English. And its not a joke. They really only could speak french fluently.

Maybe give them some english lessons. Its a touristic place after all. Its belgium. The least you could do is learn a extra language or two just like the flemish part.

Definitely advise against going here with groups. Absolutely not made for groups or organized for groups.
