Could be simpler to use

Great app for making sure that everything is legit
Could be made easier to use. I have everything on my phone, and I had to repeatedly go back and forth to find individual amounts etc because of the questions, where as they could put all what you require in one question, and then you could answer in part 1,2 and 3 etc

It did exactly what it said it would. I opened the access with my information, they extracted the bank statement. Asked what was regular income and then closed the access. My bank advised they do this sharing so it wasn't without the bank knowing this was happening.

The process was quick and easy but….

The process was quick and easy until it wasn’t. It allowed me to upload all documents I needed until the very end and would not allow me to upload the evidence I needed. I tried to log out and go back in. This didn’t work.

This meant I had to manually send the evidence to my solicitor

Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear you hit a problem at the final hurdle - that's frustrating when everything else had gone smoothly. We aren't aware of any issues around file uploads - could you reach out to us at support@armalytix.com or via live chat with some details of what you were trying to upload so we can investigate?
Glad you were able to get the evidence to your solicitor in the end, and we wish you the best of luck with your property purchase.

Highly intrusive and not risk-based

Our conveyancer asked us to use Armalytix software to verify ‘source of funds’ for our recent property transaction.
Regulations require conveyancers to use a risk-based assessment to understand the source of funds. We were selling one property and buying another with the proceeds so our transaction was very low risk.
The Armalytix questionnaire is not risk-based. As well as asking for details of the transaction, it asked for income verification (payslips) and bank details including information about every transaction in or out of our bank accounts for the past month (via ‘open banking’). This level of scrutiny might be needed for a high-risk transaction but, for us, it was inappropriate.
We complained to the conveyancer, they agreed that the Armalytix questionnaire was unnecessary.
‘Open banking’ has made it easy for companies to access private financial information but we value our privacy and, for security reasons, we do not share bank details unless absolutely necessary.

Hi Andrew,
Sorry to hear you found the process more intrusive than you felt was necessary. It's worth clarifying though that Armalytix doesn't determine the length of bank information your conveyancer requests - we collect what they ask for, based on their own risk assessment. If your conveyancer felt in hindsight that some of the checks (such as income verification) weren't needed for your transaction, then we agree that it does sound like they asked us to perform some unnecessary checks.
On the open banking point, connecting your account shares exactly the same information as emailing bank statements - the difference is that open banking is more secure, as the data goes directly from your bank without passing through email. Uploading statements manually is always an alternative if you prefer.
We wish you the best of luck with your property transaction.

Hi Ruby,
Sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience. We'd be interested to follow up with you about the income calculations point as we've produced thousands of financial reports and aren't aware of any inaccuracies, so it's possible this may be a misunderstanding about how income is calculated from your bank data.
On the bank account issue, if your bank wasn't showing up it's likely it isn't fully supported via Open Banking — annoyingly some banks don't make all their accounts available. Uploading statements manually is a straightforward alternative which our support team can walk you through if necessary. We'd be happy to look into both issues properly - you can reach out to our support team via live chat or at support@armalytix.com.
We wish you the best of luck with your property purchase. Best, Team Armalytix

Initial fears sharing account details…

Initial fears sharing account details with Armalytix, especially when large businesses are reported to have been hacked, but went ahead anyway. Overall easy to do, though I had trouble in my bank allowing them access to 2 savings accounts details, inorder to ascertain the funds were available.
