Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 49 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the products, noting that items often did not match the descriptions or images on the website. Customers frequently mentioned poor quality, with products feeling cheap, made from different materials than advertised, and lacking proper branding or labels. Reviewers also found the sizing to be inaccurate and inconsistent with standard measurements. A significant number of people also reported issues with the refund process, stating that the company was reluctant to provide full refunds and often offered partial refunds or required customers to return items to international locations at their own expense, which sometimes exceeded the product's value. The website itself was also a point of contention, with some feeling it was misleading about the company's true location and the origin of its products.

I Paid for Quality, Got a Counterfeit – Misleading, Costly, and Silence When It Mattered Most

I Paid for Quality, Got a Counterfeit – Misleading, Costly, and Silence When It Mattered Most

I ordered what was advertised as an Armoire Men’s Fleece Hooded Jacket for $99.95. The website looked professional, the photos showed a branded, high-quality product, and I trusted I was paying for something genuine.

What I received was a shock — a thin, unbranded, poor-quality jacket with no tags, no labels, no packaging, and none of the promised features. It looked like something worth a few dollars, not a premium product. It was clear to me this was not authentic.

I raised the issue through PayPal and provided detailed evidence. Instead of acknowledging the problem, the seller offered me 15%, then 25% back, suggesting I keep the item. But this wasn’t a minor flaw — this was a fake product, and that’s not acceptable.

They later agreed to a full refund only if I returned the item — fair enough in theory, but the return address they gave me was misleading and unrecognised by Australia Post. I had to troubleshoot the address myself just to send it, which ended up costing me $49.10 in postage.

Since returning the item, I’ve received no further communication, no refund, and no reimbursement for return shipping. I’m now left without the jacket, out of pocket, and feeling completely dismissed.

As a student, this wasn’t just frustrating — it was disheartening. I trusted this business. I followed all the steps. And in return, I’ve been met with avoidance and silence.

I’m sharing this so others are aware. The product I received was misleading, the return process was unclear, and the lack of customer service was unacceptable. I’ve escalated the matter to Fair Trading NSW and PayPal, and I hope no one else has to go through what I did.
“THIS ARMOIRE MELBOURNE IS A BIG SCAM PLEASE BEWARE!!”

Not as Advertised

The product was poor quality and not as advertised. It was advertised as wool but upon looking inside the jumper there was no label anywhere and it appears and feels like polyester! No care instructions etc that you would expect on a wool jumper. Not even a brand tag. Who sells clothing with no labels on it?! So disappointed. Want to send the second one I bought back. That's how disappointing the quality is. Also this is not an Australian website despite being called Armoire Melbourne. Look carefully before you purchase. I didn't. There is no '.com.au.' only '.com.'

Do not waste your money

The pants arrived and looked nothing like they did on the ad . This company is not based in Australia, they are a complete scam in my view - they don’t like giving a full refund if you want to return the item you purchased and in my case offered me %20 refund to keep the pants - mysteriously they then wrote and told me that they were closing my case as I hadn’t responded to their emails - I sent 3 emails- I did not get a refund -my advice avoid this company

These drop shippers are becoming a problem, there are many stores like this and I'm sick of them.
Just DON'T buy... you WILL regret it!
If you're really curious, search for the item on Aliexpress, Temu or Shein, and you'll likely find that $70 item for a $10.

Cheaters and Liars

Cheaters, not a Melbourne store at all, cheap Chinese crap sold as good quality products, now I'm struggling to get a refund and they won't accept returns. They charge a price for the real thing and send you junk. Obviously the authorities can't stop them cheating the public, they shouldn't be able to get away with this. They are definitely breaking the rules. Money down the drain. I wouldn't even wear what I received, and it took forever to arrive.

Misleading, overseas seller posing as an Australian business

I purchased from Armoire Melbourne thinking they were based in Australia. Their website gave no indication that they’re actually operating out of the Netherlands. The product I received was not as described, and when I asked for a refund or return, they refused — insisting I ship it back to Europe at my own cost (more than the item’s value!).

They sent me a so-called “invoice” that’s really just an order confirmation — no ABN, no GST, and nothing compliant with Australian tax laws. It feels deceptive and dishonest.

Avoid this company. Their name and website are misleading, and they do not honour basic consumer rights under Australian law.

To be avoided at all costs. Scam scam scam

I should’ve read Trustpilot before purchasing and getting ripped off with an top that looks nothing like the pictures on their website. Some cheap Chinese crap made of our recycled plastic bags, at least that’s what it feels like. How are these types of operations allowed to continually operate when clearly many people have been conned ??!?
It’s effing ridiculous!!

This company is all about conning …

This company is all about conning customers out of their rights and money, dont deal with them at any cost.
eg. returns are not to melboure you will given a return address to the Netherlands which involves postage cost close to value of the product. This company should be closed down.

This is some sort of knock off site. I ordered actual Berkenstocks - recieved some knock off chinese copy that smells like poly glue.

Also THE WRONG SIZE LOL

Then the automated AI response via email is offering me 15% return on them. And offered me to keep them. Like wtf do they think ill do with the wrong sized shoes.

These guys need to be shutdown. Wouldn’t even recommend 1 star.

Total SCAM beware

If I could rate this site a 0 I would. I purchased pants and a short and T shirt set for over $150au. The quality of the items was extremely poor and nothing like the photos on the website. I contacted them and after many emails they offered a 15% refund, absolutely disgusting. This website is a total scam, I have seen better quality at the markets for under $20. Rip off, do not buy from here!

The site looks legitimate, it’s not.

The site looks legitimate, that is where it ends.
Item ordered was ‘Premium quality Cotton’, item received 100% polyester, nothing like the image on the site, other than the color.
Deceitful + Dishonest = Chinese.
Lessons learnt for future dealing ‘on line’ clothing.
….BUY LOCAL.

If I could rate this company minus one billion stars I would. The item doesn't even look like the picture. It's based in the Netherlands, all information about it being Australian is flagrantly false. This is part of an email I received about returning my item -

"Please make sure that when you declare the value of the item at the post office, it is listed as under $20. If the declared value is higher, the return may be subject to customs duties that we are unfortunately unable to cover."

I wouldn't use these shirts as toilet paper, let alone wear it. They are not the correct size and took 3 weeks to arrive.

Don’t waste your money, buy somewhere else

Don’t waste your hard earned money with this business. As mentioned in other reviews their sizing is not typical of any AUS size and the size charts are effectively pointless.

Similar to other people here, in my experience they will refuse to provide you a refund. They state a 30 day policy for refunds, so be mindful of the date when a complain is logged. They will aim to delay any chance of a refund.

As mentioned below, stay clear of this company.
