terrible terrible

I used to shop with them but don't anymore. I received expensive beans and the packaging was pierced. I contact them but as usual the ignorance is high. Dont take risk even when they have some good coffee. At the end its not worth the risk. They should be reported to trading standards.

First rate service and great prices. Super fast delivery to UK.

I've been ordering my illy coffee ese pods from Aromatico.co.uk and depending on when the exchange rate is beneficial, from their German site Espresso-special since 2012. The service has always been great and they deliver to the UK incredibly quickly, usually within two days of the order being placed. The prices are a good saving on what you pay in supermarkets. I would highly recommend this company and cannot fault it.

Best Avoided

I've been buying from Aromatico for a few years. They are a German company who also trade under the '.co.uk' banner. They stock a good range of coffee and, to be fair, when I've placed an order it has turned up. For this reason they obtain the second star.

I judge a company not by what it does when things go well but by how it treats its customers when there's a problem. After all, taking someone's money and then popping something in the post isn't too difficult. Keeping them happy after you've goofed up is. Sadly, Aromatico have proved that they really don't care and this is in contrast to other companies I've reviewed who have gone out of their way to remedy problems.

To be specific, I recently placed an order with Aromatico and a large part of the order was ESE pods. I specifically ordered the ones I had received previously and liked. But when the package arrived the pods were wrong. Incidentally, packaging with aromatico can be a basic affair. ESE pods are often supplied individually and in my orders they have been used to pad other goods - in the same way other companies do with bits of polystyrene. This has never particularly bothered me although you do lose one or two pods which can get crushed.

I contacted Aromatico about the mistake, more than once, but on each occasion I was simply ignored; having Googled them this is not an unfamiliar story. There's a certain arrogance in just ignoring someone that does rile me, but more than that it doesn't make good business sense. I've placed a number of previous orders with them and was likely to place many more. If Aromatico had got in touch, even to make a small gesture such as - oh, I don't know - free delivery on my next order, then I'd have been happy. Now I will find an alternative supplier and warn you, the person reading this, of how you might be treated.

As I paid via Paypal I did consider raising a dispute. But life's too short to spend it squabbling. I have some coffee and it isn't bad so I'll drink it and then delete Aromatico from my favourites list.

So, in summary, if all goes smoothly then you might be OK with Aromatico. But if there's any sort of problem then you're on your own.

Good coffee... but very poor customer service

I have been very pleased with doing business with Aromatico, but the last two shipments have been a disaster.

If you purchase a minimum of 3 kg. coffee of a particular brand, the customer will be promised an original Italian coffee cup and saucer for free. Therefore, I bought a few months ago 3 kg of coffee, hoping to receive a coffee cup with the saucer. Unfortunately, there was no cup in the package and Aromatico explained to me that it was because I had not chosen the cup in the webshop basket. This is obviously not true, but it was agreed that Aromatico would send the cup with the next purchase if I just made them aware of the error again.

A week ago, I bought another 6 kg of coffee in the hope of receiving two coffee cups incl. saucer and therefore I was extra careful with the order in the webshop basket, so that Aromatico could not claim that I once more had made a mistake.

When I shortly after received the package, there were, ONCE more, no cups in the package, and now Aromatico (or the owner, the ”nice” Mr. Schwarz) claims that I did not order the cups and the fault is all my own.
There is obviously an error in Aromatico’s webshop, as they will not admit. After recent contact, where the nice Mr. Schwarz denies having made mistakes (obviously), the company has closed the Support Ticket and now ignores any request from me.

Interestingly, the coffee from my recent purchase is still in the webshop basket and waits for me to choose my coffee cup (large or small) and pay, even though I've already received the package.

As mentioned, there is obviously an error in Aromaticos shop, but the nice Mr. Schwarz refuses yet to deliver the goods that the customer have paid for.

I therefore warn about buying anything from Aromatico. I can’t stop thinking about what happens, if a kilo og more is missing in the shipment? Of course, Aromatico will ignore it.

Aromatico’s range of Italian coffee is almost unique large, but the company really do not care about their customers and ignore any request for help when there are problems.

And this is very sad.

Poor customer service... average coffee

Had few coffee deliveries from this company over the past few years. They have a good choice of Italian coffee with a reasonable price.
However the first (and last) time I received damaged goods because either poor packaging or mishandling of the courier (thought they use UPS), the customer service was appalling! They did not take any responsibility as seller and refused to change or refund the damaged goods....

If I were you I wouldn't bother to try them...
