WARNING for tourists

WARNING for tourists: Hidden contactless payment traps at Arriva Brescia buses!
I took the Peschiera del Garda → Desenzano bus LN 026 (7 Mar 2026, 17:04) with my companion. Paid 16€ via contactless card for a 15 km trip that should cost max 7€ total (their calculator shows 2.9€/person). ‼️ Bus showed only 0.02€ card check, real 16€ charge hit 2 days later ‼️
Major issues:
• NO CLEAR INFO at boarding or stations about “tap in/tap out” rule
• Extremely overcrowded bus – standing room only, physically impossible to reach validator at exit to re-scan ( if you ‼️ know this rule in advance to re-scan your card or wallet )
• Rude drivers gave zero instructions to confused tourists
• Unreliable schedules – buses don’t arrive on time, you’re stuck waiting with no info
• No visible signs explaining payment rules
Result: System charged maximum fare because we couldn’t “tap out.”

my complaint with registration number TICKET#9544562

Arriva refused refund claiming: “Dovrai passare la tua carta… sia in salita che in discesa” (tap in/out).” “ corre ricordare che viene riportata sia a bordo autobus, sia sul nostro sito web ufficiale”

‼️ WHERE? No visible signs! Fine print on website only..‼️
BEWARE: Always buy paper tickets at tabaccherie. Avoid contactless unless you speak fluent Italian and know their secret rules. Huge disappointment for tourists expecting clear service.

The company charged 80 Euro for short…

The company charged 80 Euro for short bus trips in total because we payed via Visa Card on the bus. The did not inform us that you have to check out when you leave The bus.
Their reply to our request to pay back the amount was unbelievable! The just wrote that it was Our own fault!

Unreliable Airport Service

Line 268 to Turin Airport - buses don’t turn up, there is no live information so you don’t know when (or if) a bus will arrive. The express bus didn’t turn up, so we were forced to catch the local stopping service, but there is no difference in price. Certainly find a different way to Turin Airport (there is a train), but avoid Arriva Italia at all costs.

LN026 is an absolute shambles…

LN026 is an absolute shambles to and from sirmione to peschiera del garda .20 mins late going there a very long wait for shuttle so walked instead 1.7 KM .

A massive tourist attraction but transport links extremely poor service, buses don’t turn up at any of the times on the boards . We waited over 90 mins at bus stop and then two turned up . The shuttle bus men went round three times and kept saying 10 mins 10 min , very poor services to paying customers!

The same happened in Malcesine LN 483

LN026

Last LN026 bus never arrived as timetabled in Sirmione - ended up walking to Pescharia at 11pm at night. Absolute joke of a company.

Chronic Delays

Unfortunately, with such an unreliable experience, I cannot recommend Arriva Italia to anyone seeking dependable transport. Improvements are urgently needed to meet even the most basic standards of customer service.

Avoid Arriva Italia – Unreliable Service and Dishonest Drivers

Our experience with Arriva Italia’s LN026 line was incredibly frustrating. We waited over 2 hours in Sirmione for a bus that never came – multiple scheduled buses were either missing or full, and no real-time updates were provided. Locals advised us to just walk, which we eventually had to do.

Later that day, we boarded a bus from Peschiera to Sirmione. The driver refused card payment, claiming “cash only,” and charged us 8 euros, although the printed tickets clearly said 5 euros total. Other passengers used cards just fine. When we confronted him at the end of the ride, he acted confused, pretended not to understand English anymore, and reluctantly gave us 3 euros back.

This feels like a scam targeting tourists, and we have photo/video evidence to prove it. If this is how Arriva operates, we strongly recommend avoiding them entirely.

ticket machine doesn't allow you to buy your ticket to peschara from sirmione largo faselo, forcing you to pay 1 ticket for the shuttle and then a new more expensive in bus ticket in sirmione. Typical italian chaos

Scammers.

Scammers..
Bus from Torino Airport to Porta Susa
The ticket STILL costs 7.5€ when there is a train that costs 3€!!!! That aside, I decided to take it because I have the option to get my ticket reimbursed from my company. I pay by card expecting to get a receipt, the driver tells me to scan the QR code for the ticket. The QR code leads to the site that CLEANS THE BUS and has nothing to do with the ticketing. AFTER I PAY, I discover that the bus is full. The driver does not even bother to tell us that the seats are full and we have the option to stay on foot. I had no choice but to dangerously stand on foot for at least 20 minutes with a luggage between my legs because of course an AIRPORT BUS has no place to put the luggage!.. I ask the bus driver again about the receipt, he tells me to scan another QR code. I asked for further instructions in case the QR code doesnt work he tells me he DOESN’T KNOW how im supposed to get my receipt. I register on the site trying to discover how the hell i should get my receipt. They force me to make an account. Then force me to add my card information which then shows that my card has not been used (even though the bank transaction shows on my phone)😂😂
THANK YOU for wasting my time money and patience and honestly its not about the money but after a long trip no one needs this negative energy on top of the strain of travelling!

Disservizio grave

Grazie

This afternoon we accompanied our 20-year-old daughter to the Verres (AO) bus station to catch the bus to Milan.
Ticket paid for and registered online, complete with names, phone, email.
The 6.30 p.m. run will never pass, our daughter remained at the deserted bus station (can you imagine our apprehension), we went back to the valley, never thinking that such a basic public service could blow up a run (the last one) without giving notice. The driver of the run in the opposite direction to Aosta oblivious to everything, the ‘customer service’ not responding.
My wife and I are astonished at the behaviour of Arriva (a name that sounds like a hoax in this case), what do you think? Has this happened to you before? What can one do to complain about such a blatant disservice (considering that the Aosta Valley railway is not in service)?
Thank you

Terrible experience with Arriva bus

There are no benches or places to sit. Full of homeless people. As if that wasn't enough, we waited 2 hours for the 11am bus. Even though it hadn't arrived yet, the 11:30 bus arrived, and we asked for information and they gave us a terrible answer.

Arriva.it

Arriva.it: transport of Bergamo province

This system of public transport has no client service at all. On the site it is written that you are allowed to buy tickets in the bus, the driver will give it to you for a regular price. But while entering the bus, it turns out that he doesn’t sell tickets, but still he lets you enter the bus and go to your destination. Shortly, on the next bus stop, the controller gets on the bus and starts checking the tickets. As we didn’t have any, but the driver let us take a ride, nevertheless the controller gives us a fine. As he said, there is no way to buy a ticket straight at the drivers post, you have to do it on the site or at the local tabaccherias. The question is: 1) why the site gives us a wrong information? 2) why the passenger, who has no ticket, is entering the bus after the drivers permission and still he gets a fine, but not a driver, whose responsibility is to check the availability of a ticket?

Horrifc

Horrifc. Canceling services without warning, not servicing stops that the live service says they do, just terrible.

You can't trust this company

You can't trust this company. Their timetable is worth nothing. They will take your money but the bus is optional. Just tried to travel from Sirmione to Desenzano. Normally it is 25 mins. With Arriva it is 3 hours at best.
