I ordered a chair and it has a broken…

I ordered a chair and it has a broken leg. It won’t screw into leg hole. I’m just disappointed with the quality.
I sent in a video as I was told to do and Article said they would replace. Now they are saying replacement is delayed after weeks of waiting. I definitely expect more out of a $600 chair.

I am so disappointed.

I am so disappointed.
I thought that we had finally found a Canadian company that valued it's customers. I am so disappointed to report that Article is no better than Structube for customer service. My chaise lounge arrived severely damaged - likely by a forklift, since the box had a huge rip in it which was clearly visible. I refused acceptance of delivery and sent the item back with the delivery partners. I then called the company, submitted pics (thank goodness we took them), and was told I would be immediately refunded, both the chaise cost and the shipping and assembly cost, as well as receive a credit for $75.00 for next purchase for the inconvenience (which, let's face it, means more business for them). The associate said that she would email me confirmation of all the above within minutes. No email came. The next day I was told i would have to wait until my item arrived at the Vancouver warehouse before i would receive a refund. This was a shock, since it is not at all what i was promised. After 45 minutes, i was refunded the cost of the chaise. They did not, however, refund me the shipping or the assembly cost. They said this was because there was another item in the order - a side table, which cost less than the assembly and shipping cost and WE ASSEMBLED OURSELVES!!
I spent an hour and a half of my workday on the phone being put on hold 5 times while the agent "spoke with her supervisor" in an attempt to deliver the service that was promised to me the previous day. I was then informed that they would refund the portion of the shipping and handling for the chaise, but i would have to pay $49 for the shipping of the side table.
Seriously??

My $49 shipping charge is going to make or break Article's profits for July 23, 2024??

The customer service agent expressed that she WANTED to help me, but Article did not give her the agency to do so. And, even though yesterday's agent had promised to rectify things for me, her notes were apparently not robust enough to verify my story, so I had to fight for an hour and a half for what I had been promised the day before.

After repeatedly asking for the email of someone who could answer to this, and repeatedly being asked what they can do to ameliorate me and repeatedly receiving the same response from me "just keep your promises from yesterday!", they conceded to refunding the entire shipping, after they finally pulled the conversation recording from the day before to verify that I, "the loyal customer", was indeed telling the truth.

What started out as a great relationship 2 years ago with a sofa, chair and ottoman purchase and a referral to my family who also purchased items, has ended in a customer service nightmare and Article's loss of my family's business.

Customer service is the true and only differentiator in any business, Article. Product I can (and will) get somewhere else.

Article is a great company with great furniture!

Article has been a great company to buy from. The products themselves and the people delivering have all been great! My most recent purchase has been an armchair that perfectly fits our room. It's comfortable to sit in and wonderful to look at. I've received ample updates from Article about my delivery and our delivery people have always been friendly and helpful when bringing our order.

Buyer Beware

Took them over a month to collect my return after repeated 'errors' on their part, then the actual return was botched by them, it's now been over 2 months since I asked for the return and they still have not refunded me while I continue to be charged monstrous interest on my credit card for an expensive purchase. Am now having to file a fraud claim via credit card for my refund which they keep assuring me 'will be done promptly' though it's now well outside their allowable time to issue the refund. Their most recent feedback is that they only have record of one item being collected vs the two that were collected. Just brutal and a really needlessly stressful and feels like it's never going to end. Buyer beware.

Low quality amd poor customer service

I love the sofa We bought (Sven Sectional sofa in velvet fabric) but the back cushions do not hold up well at all. They get misshapen and over time become impossible to get back to a reasonable shape. The entire sofa sheds feathers regularly which make the dark blue fabric look dirty and shabby. Rather than buy a whole new couch we wanted to order new back and side cushions in a contrasting color to fix our issues and also get a more funky custom look. Customer service says they won’t sell replacement parts. I am willing to pay for new cushions to fix their quality problems and they won’t even do that. I asked the rep to escalate it to management and she said they don’t have any sales people and therefore can’t help me. Bizarre response.

Bottom line… quality sucks and they won’t help you even if you are willing to pay extra.

Great experience ordering from Article

Article was great! The reviews and pictures that others had posted were especially helpful before I purchased. The AI to see how the item would look in your home was also immensely helpful. Delivery was well organized and clearly communicated -- the service they used was quick to respond and the delivery man was incredibly kind and helpful. The piece of furniture is exactly as described, very well made, and looks amazing in the space.

Disappointing customer service/experience from Article

I am incredibly disappointed with the customer service experience I’ve had with Article. Despite being a customer who appreciates the design and quality of their products, my recent interaction with their customer care has left me feeling completely brushed off and disregarded.

I recently purchased the Mod Chair in Spearmint Aqua, which I absolutely love. The chair’s design fits perfectly within my space, and its aesthetic is exactly what I was looking for. However, when I inquired about purchasing additional fabric to cover a coordinating ottoman, I encountered an unexpected and frustrating roadblock. (I want to note that if they sold a coordinating ottoman, I would've purchased it from them!)

I reached out to Article’s customer service, hoping for assistance in acquiring the same fabric or at least information about the manufacturer. Instead, I received a response that felt like a brush-off. They flatly refused to disclose the manufacturer’s information or offer any means of purchasing the fabric. Despite my clear explanation of why this information was important to me, their response was a firm "no" with no real effort to find a solution.

Their offer to send a swatch felt like an empty gesture, especially after their unwillingness to provide any meaningful assistance. To make matters worse, I have strong suspicions that a supervisor wasn’t even consulted on my request, despite their claim to the contrary. It felt more like an attempt to quickly silence my concerns rather than genuinely address them.

If it weren’t for my genuine love of the chair’s design and how well it fits within my space, I would have considered returning it solely based on this lackluster customer service experience. The unwillingness to help a customer find a reasonable solution is incredibly disappointing. I feel let down and ignored, and I’m left with the impression that Article cares more about maintaining their proprietary information than ensuring customer satisfaction. I would even sign an NDA if required, but in all seriousness, I just want to recover an ottoman, nothing more.

If you’re looking for excellent design, Article delivers. But if you value a company that stands behind its customers and goes the extra mile to help them, look elsewhere. My experience has been soured by their lack of effort to accommodate a reasonable request, and I will be sure to share this experience with others considering their products.
