The jewelery is unique and incredebly good, I had a problem with just one of my hangers that oxidised a little and they maneged the problem in zero time, extremely fast and very professional.

Genuine nightmare. Items are not as described/do not match pictures and all gold ordered there can be different shades of it, and dark grays/blacks on jewellery are really just silver. Photos are just extremely retouched to make it look good. But while mediocre product does not need to result in bad review, their customer service department does indeed deserve 0 out of 5. Made me run in circles, got back on their own words multiple times and tried to use gaslighting right at the end. Never again would I consider using company with such terrible CS department and never before have I experienced something like this.
As per their response, I find it funny that after explicitly saying in the text of the review that their customer service is abhorrent they ask you to reach out to them again. To be taken in circles? No, thank you. In any case the practices of this company are definitely something for the ombudsman to look into, as I do not believe they align with UK consumer laws.

I really love the design of the jewelry I bought (earring stack and cuffs). Unfortunately, the closure wasn’t secure after a while, and I lost one earring not long after receiving them because of it. The gold finish also faded to silver quite quickly (even when I remove them with showering and sleeping everynight).
At the time, I contacted customer service and was helped in a kind and professional way. I appreciated that and even removed my negative review because of how well the issue was handled.
However, the same thing has happened again. I lost 3 more earrings because the closure failed. I emailed the company again, but this time I haven’t received any response.
It’s disappointing, especially since I gave the brand a second chance. The designs are lovely, but if the same problem keeps happening and there’s no follow-up, it’s hard to trust the quality or the service.

Ask and Embla offer a unique range of jewellery, the style of which I haven't been able to find anywhere else. However, for the price, my experience has been quite disappointing. I purchased four pieces, two of which broke quickly with minimal wear. The clasps loosened or broke. Ask and Embla were very quick to respond and happy to replace and the replacements haven't showed any issues but I think for the price that these pieces sell for, this should not be happening. The replacements have held up in regards to the clasp but even with only occasional wear, the silver cranium earrings have tarnished to reveal a gold colour underneath.
I love this company's style but would struggle to purchase again.

Originally, I had a fairly good experience. I ordered the “Ouroboros Earrings” which, while lightweight, still resembled the product photos and fulfilled their function. After a few months of maybe biweekly use, I noticed the closing mechanism becoming looser. However, they still worked. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, though, and the clasp mechanism failed completely. Hoops that don’t close are effectively useless, so I decided to reach out about a replacement. I went to the company’s website and found that they had updated the design. In the description, they now note that the previous version was not durable and used cheaper materials. By the time I contacted customer service, I was conveniently (for them) a few weeks outside of the 1-year warranty period, so they would not send a replacement. It is my feeling that since the product stopped functioning due to error in the manufacturer’s design—error that they themselves recognize warranted a public re-release of the product—it should be eligible for replacement. Live and learn. I now know that a measly 1-year warranty means someone doesn’t believe in the durability of whatever it is they’re selling. Jewelry can last for more than one year. Jewelry SHOULD last for more than one year. And if this company is as dedicated to craftsmanship and quality as they say they are, I should be getting five years out of these earrings minimum. In the time since I placed my original order with Ask & Embla (A&E), I’ve explored actual fine, handcrafted jewelry and trained myself to better identify greenwashing. And I’ve realized that there is no way the jewelry A&E is selling isn’t drop shipped or just mass produced. The difference between A&E and Martha Rotten, for example, is mountains and caverns. All my Martha Rotten pieces still look and function like new. And—here’s the kicker—several of them were cheaper than these earrings!
TLDR: Anyone who purchases from A&E, please know that the elevated price does not mean elevated quality. In addition, even if they do tremendously improve the durability of their jewelry, they’re still misleading about it being “handmade” in the sense that the average conscious consumer assumes. Lastly, no matter how “new and improved” their products are, they maintain their limited 1-year warranty, which tells me all I really need to know about much they believe in their craftsmanship. I cannot afford to and also have too much self-respect to spend $60 on the same earrings every year.

I love every piece of jewelry I have from this brand, however I had an issue with a closing mechanism on one of my hangers. I wrote their customer service an email and within five minutes I got my answer and within 15 minutes the whole issue was solved in the best way possible. Excellent customer service! :)
