As previous one star reviews have stated Assetz Capital have really left a lot of investors in the lurch. I knew the risks of P2P as I've previously been burnt by Lendy and Crowdstacker too. But AC se... See more

Reliable

Assetz do exactly what they say they do. The staff are easy to talk to. The desktop works well and contains everything you need to know about your investments. With interest rates at an all time low and the stock market volatile, this seems a good option. I was recommended to Assetz and have since recommended others. I was worried about the pandemic and they have weathered it well with a slight reduction in interest rates.

I appreciate Assetz Capital for it's…

I appreciate Assetz Capital for it's wide options for investment prior to the advent of covide. A platform that has developed and improved since it's inception and one which has tried to remain as open as possible to it's retail investors. Unlike several platforms that shut out retail investors when the government wanted their money to be invested.

The only thing I would say is

The only thing I would say is, as a person that is not very technically minded the terminology used on the website can be difficult to fathom. I'm sure much simpler words could be used. Other than that the platform seems to be very good

First rate serice

Although I am a very modest investor I am always assured of help and advice when needed. Assetz offers a wide range of investment, always keeping me informed of any changes and/or new opportunities. I have invested with them now for several years and look forward to many more years of earning good interest with them

Assetz Capital - Coping with Brexit and Covid 19 - A success story

This is my third review of Assetz Capital since I started to invest with them in August 2017 and I still stand by my previous reviews and the comments in them. Since the prior reviews we have had as a country major change due to both Brexit and from February/March 2020 the impact of Covid 19. The immediate impact of Covid 19 on finance started with the crash of the FT100 index from 7400 down to 5000 within days with immediate impact on the value of share holdings and pension fund values, the index has still not recovered its prior value and at the time of writing in April 2021 is only at 6990 following a very slow recovery. However with Assetz Capital there was no change at all in the value of my investments and I continued to receive income from my investment holdings at about the same rate as prior to the crash. I waited to see what would happen over time, expecting some issues with borrowers not being able to maintain their repayments against their loans and possibly defaulting which would impact on my capital and income invested with Assetz Capital. The first impact was that Assetz Capital received fewer investments from lenders and a high level of repayment requests which could not be satisfied immediately or in fact for a significant period until the financial situation improved, they therefore placed a hold on further lending to borrowers and suspended withdrawals from lenders. They also for the first time imposed a small fee on the monthly income of lenders to ensure that they could maintain a viable financial situation for the company. They kept borrowers and lenders informed of the situation and with the permission of the lenders allowed individual borrowers to suspend or vary repayments with a more general forbearance applied to repayments to avoid borrowers from defaulting on their loans. Remarkably the company also undertook the development of a Market Place in the Quick Access account to enable lenders to make new deposits into the Quick Access account with a bonus percentage value where the deposit matched a lenders withdrawal request with the same percentage discount. This enabled both new deposits and withdrawals to be carried out in a controlled and effective manner. As time has passed Assetz Capital has started to receive more volumes of deposits and have been able to remove the fee applied to lenders and the Quick Access account discount percentage is now operating a 0%.As at the end of the 2020/2021 financial year Assetz Capital have begun to offer new loans and there has been little sign of failures of previous loans but of course they may take some time to occur as we come out of Covid 19. In summary I have been very pleased with the way that Assetz Capital have handled the Covid 19 situation for both lenders and borrowers and we should thank the management team and staff for handling the situation so well and fairly for both lenders and borrowers. I remain confident in investing with Assetz Capital.

I have had a positive experience…

I have had a positive experience working with AssetzCaptal. It provides a wide range of options and I think I have adopted a mixture of all of them. I look forward to continued growth of my money.

It's OK

It's OK.

Bearing in mind that we're still in a pandemic, new lending has been virtually paused for months, and the ISA tax rules mean keeping unemployed capital tied up waiting for things to recover, it's probably as good as it can be.

Worth being part of your portfolio

I have been an investor with Assetz for about five years and have found them reliable and capable of tacking the business as the market situation requires.
They have weathered the Covid situation well and whilst the interest rates have lowered they reflect the market/risk.

Best Peer to Peer Platform

I've had money in Funding Circle, Ratesetter, Moneything, Lendy (Saving Stream) and Assetz Capital (AC) over the last eight years. Ratesetter were very good for a long time, but then halved their rates, then closed down completely.
My experience with Funding Circle started well, and AC remind me of them in their halcyon days. However, they disallowed manual lending, and then, in early 2018, the number of defaults increased to a point that, over a period of 6 months, my average return was about 2%. At this time, I had about £50k invested with them. I lost confidence and withdrew everything I could. Shortly after I did, withdrawals became almost impossible, so I got out in the nick of time. More recently, they've disallowed private investors - not that I'd go back.
The other 2 outfits are in administration and I stand to lose thousands - enough said.
Which brings me to AC. Manual lending is what I exclusively do with them, so cannot comment on their other products. I have about £90k invested with them and have been a customer since late 2019. No losses so far and an average rate of return of 6.61%. Not bad.
The only complaint is that I have money in all (what I consider) viable loans, and would like to put more money in if more loans were available.

One of the best platforms

P2P lending is a genuine alternative for protfolio diversification. The last few years have shown that the largest risk in P2P lending is platform risk. Assetz Capital is probably one of the most solid platforms run by professionals that know their market.
