Review

My experience with this developer has been less than satisfactory. I would not recommend.

Review of Astir Developer's First Project in London

As an owner of astir's first development project in London, I can honestly say that my experience has been very disappointing. The original move-in date was delayed by over a year, and yet, despite the development not being fully completed, the developer rushed to collect the remaining payments from some owners, including myself, and allowed us to move into a property that still cannot provide the basic living conditions required for daily life.

One of the main issues is the use of the parking area. The developer stipulated that owners could only use the parking area after 1 PM, meaning all delivery arrangements had to be made for the afternoon. Although I made efforts to arrange my furniture delivery for after 1 PM, when the delivery company arrived, they found that the parking area was still under construction and could not enter. I had to spend a significant amount of time and effort liaising with the developer to allow the delivery company access. However, another furniture company, whose delivery was not arranged for after 1 PM, experienced three failed delivery attempts. Today, their fourth delivery was again scheduled for around 11 AM, so I had to contact the developer again to ask for help in arranging for the delivery driver to successfully access the development and deliver the furniture to my unit.

When I contacted the developer for assistance, their response was quite indifferent, directing me to contact the property management company. The problem is that the property management company has no authority over the developer’s construction team, leaving us owners trapped in a never-ending cycle of issues.

Furthermore, the developer seems to have failed to properly protect the common areas and did not complete the necessary finishing work. Walls and doors were damaged during the construction process, and when I emailed the developer about these issues, I asked whether these damages would be repaired before the construction was finished, or if the responsibility for repairing them would fall on us owners. However, they never responded to my inquiry. The only reply I received was to contact the property management company for management issues. It was clear that it was their construction work that caused damage to the common areas, but their response felt completely irresponsible, which left me feeling very frustrated and dissatisfied.

Initially, I had high expectations for Astir, especially given their second project planned for Lewisham. However, after this experience, I’ve decided that I will no longer consider purchasing any projects from developers who may lack extensive experience. This decision feels like the most reasonable one to avoid facing similar problems in the future. I strongly recommend that other consumers be cautious when selecting developers, and choose those with proven experience and a strong reputation. This way, consumers’ interests are better protected, and the management and construction of projects are more likely to proceed smoothly, avoiding the issues I encountered.
