Bought and received the ‘Revery’ dress…

Bought and received the ‘Revery’ dress in cream for a wedding. It was without a doubt, one of the most horrendously constructed gowns I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing.

The dress totally felt like parchment paper— and aside from the complete lack of quality, the stitching was already coming undone with a cacophony of strings hanging down from the seams. It is without a doubt, one of the worst made dresses I’ve ever had to pay over 200$+ for, I cannot believe I paid that much for something that felt as if I could get for 8$ on some Chinese drop ship website. I wish this website allowed for photos, because it was mind boggling how horribly this dress was made.

I emailed the company to basically notify them, “Yeah, uh, your photos are not accurate representations of what leaves the distribution center and ends up in consumers hands,” and they basically were like, “Yeah lol, we know. Oopsies. Glad Revolve refunded you. But uh… maybe… sorta… perhaps we might check that out. Sowwwwwy!”

…as if I hadn’t spent a good chunk of money on their so called ‘dress’ (if you can even call scraps of papier-mâché stuck together a dress).

I ended up going on a different website (it rhymes with ‘NuNu’s) and purchased a dress for 90$ that ACTUALLY came structured, properly sewn, etc. I looked fabulous, and I didn’t have to wear the ASTR paper dress that looked as if it would disintegrate in the wind! Woo hoo!

Long story short? This experience put such a bad taste in my mouth, I will never purchase another item from this brand again.

Poor refund and quality experience

As others have mentioned, the return policy is more difficult with ASTR. It is 14-15 days for a refund on original payment, which is short. I then received a gift card to use since I returned within 15-30 days, which I tried to use online for another order, but you have to be very careful and triple check that it has been utilized as the payment system does revert back to your credit card if you have an existing account. This happened to me - I distinctly remember entering the gift card number, and my credit card was charged. If not, you will need to pay out of pocket again and ASTR customer service will not correct. I do hope this doesn’t happen again when I try to use my gift card in the future, but if it does, then I find this very suspicious and it will need to be reported to BBB and credit card company. Also, I personally find their clothes overpriced for what they are in terms of quality. I think you can find items with similar quality for $30-50 cheaper somewhere else. Just my opinion - unsure about the reason for the up-charge since the item quality is not there and the quality more resembles items from other lower cost brands like H&M etc.

They removed my review

They removed my review. Very bad product quality. I recently wrote a negative review about one of their products (a corset). It is very poorly made, as the metal boning is coming through the fabric and piercing into my skin. They refused to publish my review. Please never buy from them!

Poor customer service

I have been a loyal customer for years now, but my most recent purchase was the last. Also note that their return policy has changed such that you are deducted $5 from any return. In my case, I submitted screenshots of the exact same item color and size on sale at another major retailer for half off (which realistically correlates with the quality of the item and what it’s actually worth), and also included pictures of the item in my hand, brand new and unworn since my original order from ASTR. I offered to accept a partial refund, and if necessary, to send the item back (brand new in the original bag it came in) so I could place a new order from the other retailer half off, and they consistently refused after chatting, calling, and texting. As other reviewers have mentioned, chat responses take at least 20 minutes to receive, and if it’s not a favorable answer, they will simply stop replying. They also claim the person over the phone is the only one you can speak to, no further management or anyone it can be escalated to. Very difficult to digest, as they clearly are not willing to make even a one time exception to help repeat customers. Buyer beware!

Broken dress & terrible customer service

Paid £170 for a dress which arrived broken. When I emailed and sent multiple photos of the damage, (broken elastic, made the dress unwearable) the customer service team asked me ‘if I adjust the straps will it fix the issue’. It has now been over a week and I have been given no solution, my sisters graduation is this week and I have no dress; and no money to buy another option. Customer service has been horrific. I bought directly from ASTRs website FYI

received the wrong size

I received a dress in the wrong size. I ordered this for a very important event and bought the dress specifically to match the theme of the wedding. Once I received the item I took the tags off not realizing I was sent a totally different size than I ordered. The dress was way too small. I had to go out last second and spend more money on a dress because I was sent the wrong one. Now I've stepped away from work again to speak with customer service during their open hours for the 2nd time, because the first time i was in the chat for over an hour as they were taking over 20 minutes to answer each message and then just stopped answering, now they are telling me that I need to take time out of my work day (which I have to request off from a manager and we are extremely busy right now) to send this back to them in order to receive a refund. I expected much better customer service from a company that advertises itself as the best wedding guest clothing store...then sends the wrong size. I get mistakes happen, and I have been a loyal customer for years now, but not after this.

BEWARE

I thought this was a great shop until I discovered their hidden "free" return agenda. If you exceed a certain amount of returns in a period of time they place you on a modified return. Which means you need to pay a 15 percent restocking fee. This is ridiculous to me. Why advertise that you have free shipping and free returns and then screw your customers who are honestly trying to find a dress that fits? Anyone knows when you order a dress online there's a good chance it won't fit or it won't look they way you expected it to. I followed all of the return rules and am appalled that I'm being made to pay this fee. Apparently I was sent an email 6 months ago telling me this. I never saw that email. When I talked to a customer care member she kept copying and pasting the policy and telling me I should have read it more carefully. Real helpful, right? I believe if this is a policy that they are not trying to hide then they should advertise it on the store's homepage OR when I logged into my account there should have been an alert waiting for me telling me of this BEFORE I unknowingly bought two more dresses from them. This is the first order I have made in 6 months but somehow I am still on a modified return policy?????? Shame on them. They have lost my business for good.

Worst Customer Service Experience I've EVER Had!

WARNING! DO NOT BUY FROM ASTR'S FACEBOOK SHOP! I purchased a dress from ASTR for my sister's wedding through Facebook, as they were offering a coupon. I wound up exchanging the dress once and then ultimately returning it as neither size fit right. Instead of giving me my money back, they gave me store credit, despite sending the dress back well within the 28-day period stated on their website. I tried contacting them via email and never received a response. I sent two messages through their website contact form, and still nothing. I called them and the customer service representative I spoke to said I would receive a refund and email confirming it by that Monday. Neither the refund or email came. I then received an email response from one of the forms I had filled out and a new customer service representative seemed confused about how to issue a refund since it was a Facebook shop order and said he would work on it. I also contacted Facebook's customer service for the shop and after several weeks of talking in circles with a bot I gave up trying to get in touch with a human. After dealing with all of this for over a month, I received this useless message from ASTR: "Due to a system error with our integrated Facebook platform, I am unable to process the refund to the original payment." Now I'm out $170 because their customer service team doesn't know how to do their job. Never shopping there again.

Great dress brand

I first found them at Nordstrom and LOVED the styles. It's so well made and well priced for the quality. They have the best dresses. I bought some dresses on Black Friday and can't wait to have an occasion. Their sweaters were really cute and feminine. They are one of my favorite brands
