For those planning a summer sailing holiday avoid this company at all costs. They are criminal in how they lie and scam people.

I had one of their poorly maintained sailboats hit my sailboat. Their crew were incompetent and most likely did not have any sailing qualifications to hire the boat in the first place. Their batteries kept dying which led to the problem.

Upon contacting the company they assured me they had talked to the skipper of the boat and verified they had hit my boat. They told me everything would be taken care of after I filed a report. Afterwards dealing with their Jeaneau rep who was rude and refused to acknolwedge the incident and they did everything to block me from an insurance claim. My understanding is they charged the crew for the damage then denied their was an incident

Avoid them. They have many many complaints.

We had a great week, though there was a lack of wind.

Avoid Athenian, or be vey careful with a full tight contract if you are stuck with them. You will pay and pay right down to the toilet paper. In return you will get polished arrogance and indifference no matter what problems occur. We had a tired, poorly prepared Lagoon with no icebox or freezer so no ice, broken aircon and a skipper who avoided any way he could to put up the sails and scammed the port fees and costs. We loved our island visits, but use anyone but Arhenian.

Our experience with Athenian Yachts was nothing short of a nightmare. We chartered the catamaran "Billy M" from July 13th to July 20th, expecting a dream vacation, but what we received was a dangerous, poorly maintained boat that put our lives at risk.

On the third day of our trip, while walking down the stairs to the cabin, a floor panel broke beneath me, causing me to fall half a meter into the floor. This resulted in a severe injury that required 12 stitches, and I had to be rushed to the hospital in Volos via a medical speed boat organized by the Greek Coast Guard. Our vacation was completely ruined, and we were forced to cut our trip short and return to Skiathos.

What is even more appalling is the company’s complete lack of responsibility and basic human decency. Despite clear evidence of the faulty and unsafe condition of their vessel, they refused to accept any liability for the accident. To this day, we have not received a single apology for the injuries and trauma we suffered. Instead, they have shown nothing but arrogance and indifference.

Their refusal to address or even acknowledge the severe safety issues with their boats is beyond alarming. This company is clearly more interested in taking your money than in ensuring the safety and well-being of their customers. I feel compelled to warn others – DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. The negligence and lack of accountability are shocking, and I would never want anyone else to endure the pain, distress, and ruined vacation that we experienced.

If you value your safety and your vacation, steer clear of Athenian Yachts. There are far better, safer, and more reputable companies out there. Don’t make the same mistake we did.

We booked a catamaran charter around Corfu for the whole family and their partners. Well, where can I start. From booking, to the actual holiday it has been a pleasure. Everyone has answered every query we made, however small, with no issues whatsoever. We booked a Skipper and Hostess who were absolutely amazing and became part of our family by the end of the holiday. The Skipper let us join in as much as we wanted with the sailing of the boat and our Hostess cooked breakfast and lunch (which were supposed to be light meals - but she fed us so well with local cuisine) and wouldn't let us help her at any point - "we were on vacation" was her reply.
The boat was fantastic and very comfortable. We experienced a heatwave while on holiday and the air conditioned cabins were gratefully received, and so were the regular stops to cool down in the sea. It was the holiday of a lifetime with our family and we all enjoyed it immensely. Thank you Dimitri and Eva and of course Athenian Yachts. We would certainly recommend you in a heartbeat.

We had an amazing week. The staff was so helpful.. they showed us all the equipment so we didn’t lose so much time on searching and we left straight after the check in. For sure we will be back next year!

I'm a professional skipper and I work with many companies, but Athenians is a complete scam. They tried to charge me for a missing cushion that was not on the boat at check in. Thankfully I had a video proof. Ridiculous prices for other kind of damages, like 100-200 euro for a thing that takes 2 minutes to fix. The base manager in Athens is a very rude and unpleasant person. At check-in you have to insist for things to be fixed.
Definitely a company to avoid if you want a pleasant vacation.

The vessel was in terrible shape; it was dirty and did not look at all like what we had expected. When we communicated the issues we were treated like we were the problem and had to deal with their mess of a yacht. I'm sorry to be so negative but please do better and don't let your customers down with such a low quality experience for such high prices.

We had a wonderful vacation with Athenian Yachts Lefkas, despite the capricious weather and some small technical problems with the boat that were efficiently and quickly solved by the base staff. Really professional, very friendly staff, they were really helpful when we needed it. Thanks again, especially to Kostantinos (Ktinos). We will definitely come back next year!

We booked a 2018 Jeanneau 49 that depsite having been in charter for 5 years, was in good condition with wear that was expected after 5 years.

Check-in staff and procedure was straight forward. Costas gave us enough time to go through the boat's massive amount of inventory and we made sure to check everything that was on the inventory list. The few things we objected to were immediately solved.

During the trip we were in contact with Costas from Corfu base and Nikos from Lefkas base to coordinate a repair for a torn genoa. We lost half a day for the repair but Nikos made sure everything was carefully planned to lose as little time as pssible.

The only things to improve on this particular boat were:
1. the outboard engine was leaking quite a bit of oil. Hence we tried to use it as little as possible
2. the genoa was quite worn and we were just the unlucky group during whose trip it finally gave in. Thanks to a deposit insurance, we didnt lose any money for the repair

I can fully recommend Athenian's Corfu and Lefkas operations + team + the boat we had.
As each base has their own staff and boats, my review for these two specific locations.
