There's quite a bit that went wrong…
There's quite a bit that went wrong with these guys, imagine a construction company that under bids the job then decides that it's not their fault and just let's the owner finish up what they screwed up or didn't finish. An example being the amount of insurance money allotted for kitchen and bathroom faucets and sinks, provided $400 and I place orders for a $50 bathroom faucet so I have $350 to put towards a nice kitchen sink. Then I'm told that they can't get what I wanted out of stock. Then I go and check the job and see they installed the cheapest sink faucet combo from Lowe's! I let them know that this won't do (they also tried this with the toilet and the bathroom light fixture, they changed the toilet). So I send a few more and hear the same thing, after a month I ask if I should just order 1 myself and they can cut me a check and reimburse me for it? Sure, I get the OK before I do anything. The sink I ordered was only $213 total with a nice faucet, I'm saving them $137 on top of it. Then they tell me that they can't find my kitchen light that I wanted claiming it's lost or something. I asked again if I should order one and get reimbursed? Sure, I was told that same day that the correct bathroom light fixture was here and they still couldn't find the kitchen light, so I ordered one for $135, that was about the same as the one they lost. The next night I look in the bathroom box and find the kitchen light, I try to cancel my order but it's on its way. It took 2 months to arrive and I couldn't return it it so I'm stuck with it. They changed out my sink with the one I ordered, nice installation job.
There's a closet door in my garage that is mounted so the door swings inside the closet, making the closet useless. I ask to get it fixed, I'm ignored, they also cut a hole inside that closet for a wall switch then realized their mistake and just left the hole. Didn't connect the garage door wiring, no shelves in 3 locations, no door in my hallway closet. My living room switch (used to have 2, one for the ceiling fan and the other controlled the top outlets) controls nothing. The cable wires were not connected to the plates, I thought I was going crazy till I removed the covers. There's various paint that was forgotten on the front door trim, I had to add a finish board to the bottom of the entrance since there was a 2"gap on the metal safety door. There's screws that are sticking out of the kitchen cabinets from the electrical installation in the island right where your knees are when sitting in a stool. I had to remove them and run shorter screws. My appliances were dropped off on a Tuesday and I asked if I should be getting them ready to install? They knew it had been a year since the fire and I really wanted to get this 4 months job done and start to live normally. They said nope we'll be there just sit back and watch the magic happen. Then it was Sunday night and not a word from them, I went ahead and finished the appliance install, had to get power cords for the garbage disposal and the stove, a water line for the fridge and a dishwasher connection for the dishwasher.
Since I had the water line, the cords for the stove and disposal I figured I'd toss them in for free. Since they found the kitchen light and the bathroom light wasn't exactly what I picked out but it was ok I ran up the total of my reimbursement to be $231 (that's tossing in $30 in cords and a $10 water line at no charge). So I'm saving them $170 over what they would have had to spend.
I'm told I'll get a check in a week, no check, I file a report at BBB and they respond saying they're sorry and I'll get the check in a week. Each week that passes in calling them or texting them and leaving messages for 2 months, not a single attempt to contact me. The BBB marks my complaint as resolved?!? I'm still working on changing that, that's why I'm here once again.
I've filed a report with the Arizona Register of Contractors and will be filing a small claims court case for much more than the tiny $231 they promised to reimburse me , I'll be bringing up all the other things that they left out and ignored and anything I bought along the way. They've already admitted to owing me yet ignore me? I don't see how they think they'll win in court. I've been so nice about this entire job and they have not cared one but about me. They're concerned about their profit while they underbid the job, it's absurd! I had no choice in them doing this job, the insurance company assigned them to me and I had no direct link to the insurance company to let them know what was happening. I will be contacting them with these reports I've filed.
