Representative was absolutely phenomenal dealing with a credit card company on my behalf for a fraudulent credit card application. She was extremely professional, even when I wasn’t, in dealing with the credit card reps who transferred us a handful of times to get to the right department and insisted on getting me to give my SSN over the phone (which I didn’t). I couldn’t be happier with her friendliness and patience in getting to a solution of the card company closing the application and reporting it as fraud to the credit bureau.

We used Aura about 2 1/2 years ago as extra protection because we travel and worried about using non-secure wifi. Their service significantly slowed (and at times even stopped) us from being able to do business online. After 5 months, we cancelled our membership and deleted the app. Two years later we are still trying to get them to stop charging us.

After 3 years being with Aura, the suddenly decide to increase my annual membership from $120 to $199. When I called them to ask about the increase, I was told " ITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE" . What?? Instead of giving me a discount they were going to increase the price.
TBH, the service is not that great.my vpn stops working, and I seem to have issues with other apps since I got Aura, thinking it was my service with Verizon. Verizon has no issues on their end and even suggested i remove Aura.
After reviewing customer complaints, and websites like Reddit and Trustpilot, I now see they scam people.

If the support people had had me run the cleaner app 4 weeks ago when I first had the problem I would have been all set then. This problem has caused me no end of grief along with a couple of virus attacks!
Today Julian took the time to have me run the cleaner app which solved the whole problem! I'm very grateful that I spoke with him! :-) FYI Aura is a very powerful and useful app to protect yourself from many types of attacks both on your computer and phone! :-)

This is a follow-up to my 11/11/25 review about unhelpful customer service. An Aura customer service rep who monitors trustpilot called me about the review. He explained that California (and Alaska, Georgia, Michigan, Montana, Wisconsin) has a law which precludes updating third party public records companies with DMV information to protect consumer privacy. Aura will still protect me if my car title is stolen. Also, they are updating training for their call center customer service on this issue. So, kudos to Aura customer service, they were helpful.

WOW! My go to knives are the Aura Calafia (Chef) and the Aura Alta (Utility) that were custom made to match my kitchen. I did not know what I was missing, until I used my Alta for the first time. There is no better blade for performance and the aesthetics equally steal the show. It is truly a luxury knife that will last a lifetime; so in my mind, the craftsmanship, design, quality and enjoyment make it worth the investment. The hardest part is making a decision on the color-ways and material options because the choices are stunningly infinite and the decision process almost turned me into a collector. I also purchased three Calafia’s as gifts, the black gift boxes are elegant and perfect for the person who is hard to shop for or who has everything. It is a memorable gift and purchase that will receive use and last forever. I highly recommend the brand, they are very knowledgeable on everything they do and helped me make my decisions. I LOVE my knives.

The good reviews shock me. Immediately after installing Aura, I started getting spam emails. Additionally, my Door Dash account was hacked and I got hundreds of dollars of false charges. I installed another AV program and it all stopped IMMEDIATELY!
Aura just replied with a bunch of blah, blah, blah. There was no way to reply to them directly, so I'm editing my post. What they ignore is the fact that my problems started IMMEDIATELY after getting Aura. And I did not mention the new AV that I got initially but now I must. I removed Aura and installed Bitdefender and all my problems stopped IMMEDIATELY!!! That is too great a "coincidence."
The more aura keeps contacting me, the angrier I get. This has nothing to do with any previous exposure. For my problems to begin IMMEDIATELY after installing aura, and they stopped IMMEDIATELY after uninstalling aura, and installing bit defender is no coincidence.

I've recently tried a couple other online safety/identity protection and call monitoring services namely cloaked and guard.io...they did not do what I was hoping, expecting or even what they said they would. AURA however...did exactly what they said they would AND THEN SOME! When asked by a close friend of mine how much Aura was costing me after I'd told him how great they were doing, I told him the price really doesn't compare to tge peace of mind I get from their protection!

The agent was extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient. I had a previous problem with identity theft and she handled my situation and assured me that Aura would continue to monitor the issue. I was so thankful for her help. Aura notified me immediately when the occurrence happened.

HAD TRAIL PERIOD ESTABLISHED AND MERE DAYS LATER AFTER PROVIDING THE COMPANY MY SENSITIVE PRIVATE INFO (ie SOC. SEC NUMBER) SOMEONE TOOK CONTROL NOT ONLY OF THE ACCOUNT BUR ALSO HACKED ALL MY EMAILS, MY PHONE(S), BANK AND OTHER ACCOUNTS, ALL WERE HACKED AFTER TAKING THE TRIAL PERIOD. HAD FULL CHARGE APPEAR IN BANK BECAUSE AURA REFUSED TO HELP GET BACK INTO ACCOUNT OR CANCEL SERVICE BEFOR TRAIL ENDED.
I THEN FILED CHARGE BACK CHALLENGED WITH BANK BUT ARURA REFUSED TO ADMIT THEY REFUSED TO CANCEL THE ACCOUNT AND SOUGHT TO ESTABLISHED FULL CHARGED ACCOUNT IMPROPERLY ONLY FOR FINANCIAL GAIN KNOWING I WAS UNABLE TO GET THEM TO CANCEL AS THEY SHOULD OF.
I FILED WITH FTC HACK REPORT AND CONTACTED ARURA DIRECT.
PROMISED REFUND AND CONFIRMATION EMAIL AS TO AGREED RESOLUTION BUT NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND.
i NOTICED THE AURA AGENT THE CALL WAS RECORDED, SO NOW TAKING THE RECORDING AND DOCUMENTATION AND SUING THEM IN COURT.
THIS IS A POOR RUN COMPANY IN REGARDS TO CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
ADD TO THIS, IF THE COMPANY PROMISED PROTECTION AND I WAS HACKED THEN THEY OUGHT TO BE RESPONSIBLE IN PAYING THE INSURANCE THEY SUPPOSEDLY PROVIDE IF YOU'RE EVER HACKED. ADDITIONALLY, IF THEY REFUSED THE REFUND I AM ENTITLED TO THE ONE YEAR SERVICE THEY BILLED FOR RIGHT? THEN WHY WOULD THEY INDICATE THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED AND NOT REFUND MONIES OWED?
BOTH CANNOT BE TRUE, EITHER ACCOUNT EXIST AND GOODS & SERVICE ENTITLED FOR WHAT WAS PAID /CHARGED FOR. OR, THE ACCOUNT SHOULD NOT EXIST AS CLAIM AND REFUND TO THE CONSUMER IS PROPER BECAUSE CONSUMER "DID NOT' GET WHAT WAS PROMISED AND PAID FOR!
