Good experience, despite a bit of a tracking issue. Great customer service!
Firstly, I'd like to say that my experience was an overall good one. Please note that my experience might not mirror everyday business, as the particular battery I was ordering isn't a common one.
After my initial order, I had originally thought I was being misled, as the PayPal information didn't seem to match the website, however, I received an email confirming my order, which helped settle my nerves. I only mention this so that others are aware, in advance. If you purchase through PayPal, you will see it process through a Chinese name, that doesn't resemble the website name.
I had originally thought that the website's listing of my item being in-stock meant that it would ship from Australia. The email I had received, which gave my order's tracking number, mentioned local shipping taking 2-6 days, and gave me a tracking number for "Fastway," which is-- as I understand it-- the old name of a courier service, which was bought out in 2016, and now operates under the name "Aramex"...??? Feeling a bit confused and impatient about it, I received an email, requesting a review about my experience. At this point, I was in the dark, with inaccurate shipping information, and no clear tracking of my order, so I will admit that it was a bit harsh. After reading through other reviews, I discovered that AustraliaBattery.com has multiple warehouses, and that (likely due to how uncommon my battery type is) my order was more likely shipping from China, instead of being in Australia. That wasn't a big deal, but it did mean I would be waiting a bit longer than I was hoping to, so I waited patiently.
A few days later, I received an email about my review, from Amy, at AustraliaBattery. There was a bit of confusion as-to why I hadn't received confirmation of delivery, and she had provided a screenshot of tracking information, which showed my order as waiting at my local post office. As it would turn out, I wasn't able to track my order because while the tracking number was correct, the reported shipping courier wasn't. I was relieved to have been made aware of this fact, and was able to confirm that my battery had, indeed, arrived at my local post office. In addition, when coming to update my review, I also came to realize that my battery had actually shipped from Australia-- so, while I was prepared to wait for 3 weeks, it took only two, to arrive to Tassie! :-D
After everything is said and done, apart from the order tracking email not providing the accurate courier info, I'm more than pleased with my purchase. I commend the customer service for reaching out to me like they had, as I otherwise wouldn't even have known my order had arrived, and would've assumed the worst.
