I had AU health insurance policy that was cancelled on the 5th. On the same day, I contacted customer service to reinstate my policy and reimburse my hospital cover, which had been cancelled effective 17 April.
I was advised by the CSR that, due to the short time frame to cancel the hospital cover, the payment of $197.45 would still need to be processed. This amount was debited from my account on 22 April.
At the time, I was considering switching from AU to HCF, but I ultimately decided not to proceed with the change and to continue my cover with AU. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with the CSR, during which I was assured that my policy had been successfully reinstated and that a confirmation email would be sent to me.
I have not received any email confirmation, and my insurance has still not been reinstated, despite the payment being taken.
I am extremely disappointed with this experience. The information provided by the CSR was unclear and inconsistent, and it appeared that he did not fully understand the process he was advising on. This has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
I request urgent confirmation in writing that my policy has been reinstated, along with clarification of my current coverage status.

I didn't have to wait nearly as long as my previous time of call Australian Unity. The call was answered quickly and the person was very helpful, knowledgeable and could answer all my questions. He was friendly and polite. In fact I have always found the service to be very friendly and polite there was just an issue with the length of time it took to answer a call.

We phoned to take advantage of the extra time at the current rate offer & without our requesting it our customer service rep Duncan went through our policy and found us a cheaper option. Duncan was interested, polite, friendly & very knowledgeable

Never been able to register for an account and log in to make claims, pay bills etc. Ongoing issue for 3+ months, noone can seem to fix it.
Waiting 1-2 hours on phone every time I call and being transferred to up 5 people to resolve the issue. Customer service is thankfully polite but offers no help.

Our experience with RUTH was excellent. Ruth helped re-instate our membership with AustUnity, which had been wrongly cancelled. A ‘compare’ company offered us a deal but I had to speak to my partner, I cancelled the offer within in 24 hours, and my Aust Unity had already been cancelled. I phoned Aust Unity, spoke to RUTH and everything was sorted.
