A Gem of a company

This is a family run supplier of automotive paints and accessories. I have used them in the past where they have been very helpful and friendly to me as a non professional. I have recently purchased aerosol paints etc in order to renovate an old motorbike back to a high standard. I am very impressed with their products, service and competitive prices. I have no affiliation with their company other than being a customer. I would recommend them to anyone.

Non-performing Deffective Synstryp - supplier not interested

Purchased 5L of Starchem Synstryp paint stripper. This stuff is supposed to contain Dichloromethane which is VERY good for paint stripping. The container arrived looking like a balloon (swelled from heat?). Also the container was only about 2 3rds full. The stripper had no odour, and only softened the top layer of paint - it didn't bubble like it should. I found some Nitromors which did a way better job - Synstryp should seriously outperform Nitromors, so there was clearly a problem with the stuff I received. I spoke with a friend who knows about these things and he said the stripper had likely "gassed off" due to heat in stroage/transit, rendering it almost useless, as the key elements had evaporated. I'm convinced the product was faulty, but when I raised this with Auto-Paint St Helens and they really weren't interested and simply dismissed my comments. Very disappointing and a waste of time & money. BTW: their website shows "Customer Feedback" but doesn't have an option for entering your own feedback and seems only to show selected comments (hence, I'm writing here)
