Lied to try to get me to sign a doc admitting liability even though I already said the screen chip was there when I collected.
Returning a hire car in Germany, he points out a very small chip in the windscreen. I told him it was there when I collected the car and that I would like him to check against the original photos. We go back into the office and he hands me a some paperwork to sign. I asked him what it was and he said it was just confirming the return of the car. So before signing I used Google translate on the form (it was in German) and turns out it was me accepting liability for the chip! I called him out on lying and trying to get me to sign something knowing that I didn't know what it said. He then lied again and just said it was me accepting that they would investigate. I replied it clearly states that it says I am accepting the damage was caused by me and that I would pay for the repair. I refused to sign, he said I had to to allow me to return the car. I said no
Well that didn't go down well!
Always translate forms before singing!!!!
