Best rental ever

I experienced some challenges during the booking process, and Michele went above and beyond standard customer service to assist me. I was truly impressed by the exceptional level of support, including the availability of WhatsApp contact, which greatly facilitated communication.
Upon my arrival, it was a genuine pleasure to meet him in person and to feel that someone truly cared about my overall experience. An outstanding level of service—truly over the top .

Do not offer the full insurance + debit…

Do not offer the full insurance + debit card option during booking. This practice appears designed to steer customers toward the more expensive debit card option and increase additional charges at the counter. Their competition provides full insurance + debit card option.

Dear Customer, we are sorry for your perception. A physical credit card in the customer’s name is normally required for the rental, as it is needed to cover the deposit and excess amounts. Debit cards are generally not accepted as a guarantee, as stated in the rental conditions.

Any possibility to proceed with a debit card and full coverage is an alternative solution offered at the counter, at the operator’s discretion and according to the applicable conditions, not an obligation. Acceptance of this option always remains the customer’s choice.

We went to your office in Milan central…

We went to your office in Milan central station,,I brought my passport and my international driving license,they rejected to give me the car as my local license wasn’t with me,,the attitude of the employee was very bad and that’s not professional at all,,I sent you an email but no respond back

Please note that in order to collect a rental car, presenting a valid original national driving license is mandatory, even if you also hold an International Driving Permit. This requirement is clearly stated during the booking process and must always be respected.

As for your comment about staff attitude, we regret if you felt the interaction was not handled as you expected. We take such feedback seriously and will share it with the branch management.

Worst experience to rental car: never again

I booked a rental car through CarTrawler, which operates as an intermediary on many airline sites, in my case WizzAir. The actual rental was handled by a local provider (Autovia/Ecovia), who refused to deliver the vehicle for unclear and undocumented reasons — despite me arriving on time and showing legally valid ID (an Italian driver’s license).

Here’s what happened next:

I immediately submitted all required documents and was told the refund would be processed within 48 hours.

Three weeks later, no refund.

CarTrawler now claims they are “waiting for feedback” from Autovia that didn't reply

No escalation, no deadlines, just empty promises and silence.

It was a very poor experience with No protection. No transparency. No customer care.

I want to underline that I waited for 90 minutes on queue and the same situation happens to multiple customers.
