While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more
To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. Autrace helps UK used-car buyers understand a vehicle before they commit to it. Every check starts free. Enter a registration and you get the official record: DVLA vehicle details, current MOT status and expiry, and the complete MOT test history including every failure, dangerous defect and advisory, with mileage readings plotted over time. There is no account to create and no sign-up, because a first look at a car should not cost anything. When a vehicle looks worth pursuing, a one-time £4.99 report adds the licensed checks that are difficult to find any other way: outstanding finance markers, police stolen markers, insurance write-off and scrapped records, mileage discrepancies, plate change and keeper history, and a market valuation where the data supports one. Credit packs are available for anyone comparing several cars at once. There is no subscription and no automatic top-up. What makes Autrace different is what happens at the end of the report. Most checks hand you a list of markers and leave you to work out what they mean. Every full Autrace report finishes with a short written summary drawn from that vehicle's own records: what the records show, what it means in practice, and what to ask the seller before money changes hands. It leads with whatever matters most for that specific car, and it is honest about what the records cannot tell you — nothing in a data check reveals the state of the clutch, the gearbox, or how the car drives. It never tells you whether to buy. That decision stays yours. Sources are always named, and an inconclusive result is shown as unknown rather than dressed up as a clear pass. Autrace is operated by NONSTOP SERVICE LTD (company number 12271149), registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference C1989967. Autrace is not affiliated with DVLA, DVSA or HPI Ltd. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
