Waiting for refund & shocking customer service

Loan paid off early with an over payment. I have been waiting for 3 weeks for the refund, which is still with the resolutions department (who can't be contacted other than by e-mail, even by Avant Credit staff).

Shockingly bad customer service and wouldn't recommend or use again.

Word of advice

Word of advice. Don't pay off loan early if you think you may use them again. Impossible to get another loan with them after that.

If you have issues in your house . Avant customer service is not bothered to resolve it . I have couple of issues in my house since I moved in ( Sep 2018) and I am still waiting for my house issues to get resolved. 😔. It’s a complete nightmare to deal with them

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service - interest rate three times from Clearscore (13%), first loan agreement (no decision)34% to 45% in last loan offering, however still not with decision in sight despite almost 3 weeks of process. Scam!

Stunned

Paid my loan off no problems, invited to re apply then quickly declined despite no issues and circumstances improved from initial loan, seems to be the norm with this company, strange way to operate.

Paid my loan off in full and 18 months…

Paid my loan off in full and 18 months ahead of the schedule.
Avent now owe me over £150 but refuse to repay me. Saying it's now in the hands of the refund team. They have said this three times .They dont responded to E-mails and the 03300601021 number never picks up or calls back when you leave a message.

In short an appalling company , give these thieves a miss .

speed is not of the essence with…

speed is not of the essence with AvantCredit - people generally want quick fast decisions - their website is misleading - its only same day payout if you get approved instantly and ive been told there is a delay in the underwriting department, so 6 days later, i'm still waiting to find out.
Not great service and not operating as their website suggests.

Avantcredit is okay

Avantcredit is okay, got a loan and paid it off. Their emailing service is super slow so it's better to call. Not sure I'd get a second loan from them. I'd look into 0% credit cards first!

Never had any dealings with this company, yet they keep searching me on my credit report, rang them go told to email resolutions. So far absolutely no response will be reporting them to the information commisioner.

Must say I am extremely disappointed…

Must say I am extremely disappointed with Avant this time around. Took a loan out with them a couple of years ago and it was a really good experience.....seamless and efficient. I paid that loan on time and even cleared it early.
Reapplied recently as my experience was so good last time, and my credit rating is much improved this time around also.
However, I applied and was told I had been accepted, I followed instructions, downloaded all paperwork required, direct debit was set up etc etc.
After that the experience went rapidly downhill.
I heard nothing and emailed their team umpteen times and each time I got the same response - the funds will be in your account by midnight. After a week, still nothing?
Eventually after sending an email asking for escalation I got an email saying they had tried to contact me on my mobile to “finalise”...... I had no missed calls despite repeatedly emailing them my work mobile number as best number to contact me on.
Eventually I phoned them again and spoke to a chap who seemed very uninterested but asked that I confirm my income (which has increased since my last loan with them considerably) and also to confirm what I wanted the loan for. I did this even though I had already sent through everything electronically previously??? So they had that information.
An hour later I got an email telling me that I had been declined?
I am at a bit of a loss how you can be declined AFTER sending everything’s through, being told you have been accepted, then after a phone call that the customer has had to pursue, to then be told you are declined? Very bad set up and it is obvious that this company has fallen apart customer service wise.
My advice is to avoid them like the plague if this is how they are now operating.
Thankfully Santander have been much more efficient!
On reading lots of reviews for the UK and the USA it would appear that this company has been suffering a tarnished reputation worldwide. They definitely do not reward loyal customers but seem more interested in preying on the vulnerable who may struggle to pay back their loans. Before you apply make sure you research thoroughly is the only advice I can give. I think I may have had a lucky escape :).
Avant you really need to up your game

I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience

I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience with Avant Credit. They approved me with a loan in 2015 & everything ran smoothly, even in 2017 when I was injured in an accident & unable to work, they let do a reduced payment for 3 months but I had to enter into a DMP as my injuries were more significant than first thought & I was going to be unable to work for quite some time. Everybody I have ever spoken to at Avant Credit has always been polite, friendly & very helpful the majority of the time. My only gripe is that they wouldn’t let me change my payment date when I got a new job around 6 months after taking out the loan, I was told I’d signed an agreement for a specific date & that is what the date would stay at.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid

I have had the loan since 2015. In October 2017 I called them to change the date that the payment was taken from my account, the operative inadvertently changed the payment schedule to come of my account twice a month, I asked for this to be rectified and in doing so he put my account into arrears (I was not in arrears). I was then 3 days later charged an additional payment (which after painful phone calls had refunded).

The 'arrears' went on for another 4 months, I would receive an email to tell me I was overdue, they began to charge me late payment fees, I received an email from every month to tell me I was overdue and the fees had increased, every time they emailed I called them and I was fobbed off with 'We have escalated this to our resolutions team' and every month they didn't sort it and another email would arrive in my inbox. Feb 2018 I was issued with a default notice. I spoke to Customer complaints who finally got the account put straight, the charges removed and the 'arrears' rectified.

Having had enough of their horrendous customer service, I paid the loan off in full. I am still waiting for them to put my online account right, it still shows a future payment schedule with a further 7 months of payment. Every time I call them the fob me off with the aforementioned 'we have escalated it to the resolutions team' and now the new 'the team is in America, we can't contact them'. I have been promised that they will call me back, I am still waiting on 3 call backs.......

I have advised them that I will be submitting a subject access request and that I am reporting them to the FCA. Nothing works. I am so stressed with all of this and don't know what else I can do...... I just want my online account to reflect the truth and closed so that I can wash my hands of this abysmal company.

Very poor company to deal with

Very poor company to deal with. Gave me a 100% pre approved deal stating the rate would be 11.7 % without telling me changed it to 35%. Luckily I noticed before accepting the deal. On the original offer it stated if getting the loan the 11.7 % rate was guaranteed. Very dishonest company. Surprised these kind of companies are still allowed to operate in the UK. Would not advise using them.

Stay clear

I first took a loan out in 2015 with avant, couldnt fault their service. Having now reapplied in 2018 i would strongly not recommend, i waited days for a decision so cancelled, the lack of knowledge and communication was awful ! Good company gone crap!!!

Total rip off company

Total rip off company. Offered me a settlement for irresponsible lending, which I paid, then sold the settled debt to Asset Collections. I am going to court to get a ruling against this company. I will post my defence once I have had it struck it off. Asset Collections have already lost a case against me regarding a loan with Uncle Buck. It should be noted that they did not attend court and submitted sub standard evidence which the judge could not even read with her glasses on!
