After reading all the horror stories online about car rentals in Croatia I was really doubting to rent a car. However after I found Avax (Split airport), I was really convinced. They were online all the time to answer my questions while I was booking. At first sight it looks more pricey than other car rentals but after reading the reviews from those places it was definitely cheaper at the end. Didn’t need to leave a deposit with full coverage, the transfer of the car went very smoothly and quick. The car was super clean and new. They were very responsive, flexible, available and nice! The car pick up is 2 mins drive from the airport but they picked us up and dropped us off again at the airport. Overall the experience was really good. If i ever go back to Croatia again, would definitely rent here again. Definitely recommend!

We had an extremely good experience from booking to check-out.
During booking procedure, the customer service has always promptly and kindly answered my very specific questions about terms and conditions via the site chat, helping me to make my choices consciously. This is absolutely not a common feature among car rental, because I tried to contact so many of them before receiving clear answers. With Avax booking is transparent and easy and the payment is totally postponed at the pick up moment. Furthermore they allow to pay with debit cards, which is also rare among croatian rental services.
The company really tries its best to meet customer's needs. I had asked for a specific car model within the category I had chosen(which is generally not possible), because we needed a big trunk, and they gave me just that model. We met Eugen at the airport parking area and after a few minutes we were ready to start our trip. He has been available to help us all along our holiday, being professional and also funny. I totally recommend Avax if you need to rent a car in Zagreb.

Great communication and fast response via phone and messengers. They had few cars in stock, so we got option to choose and even got free upgrade which made our trip even more comfortable.

The car itself is clean and full tank ready to conquer the road.

Everything was perfect. Nobody tried to get more money out of me than necessary as apparently other companies do. Prices are fair. I parked the car incorrectly at their place and gave it back too late and we just communicated via WhatsApp and it was all no problem. They’re relaxed, trustworthy and friendly. I took the highest insurance and I didn’t have to pay any deposit. Would definitely recommend.

Hired a car in Korcula Town and returned it to Dubrovnik. Avax are very cost-competitive and the whole experience of booking, collecting and returning was very easy. There was also good, helpful and friendly communications from their team during the whole rental period.

After reviewing all other car rental companies available from split airport I was very unimpressed with the horror stories regarding additional charges all unlegit. We eventually went with Avax as they only had good reviews and can confirm they were brilliant. We were greeted directly at the airport by Elvira Lampalov who was in contact with us by email and whatsapp before and during our visit. She was brilliant and the service was impeccable. Would recommend to anyone, thank you.

Very good experience in Dubrovnik! Responsive staff (reply to the emails in a minute), no hidden fees, also there is a possibilty to take a car without any deposit and credit card. We received new car without any damage! :) no extra charge for the border crossing.

The company were friendly and responded quickly when questions showed up before the rentalday. It was easy to fill out the forms online. They have a meeting point in Podstrana so we didn't have to go far to pick up the car. Everything worked out really well. I can surely recommend Avax Rent-A-Car!

I recommand strongly Avax rent a car for the very good service.
We had no bad surprises: the car was on time at the airport, the contract was signed in a few minutes, the price corresponded to the price on the website. I took the full insurance and everything was ok.
Elvira took care of us and was extremely reactive, she responded immediately to our questions during our stay.
The return of the car was very easy, we just left the keys at the airport and no bad surprises with supplements or anything else.

Very friendly and swift service. Good car quality. Good price quality ratio. A few days later we were allowed to store our luggage at their downtown office for a couple of hours. No problem at all.

Everything was great. Best local car rental company ever. The car was practically new and worked perfectly. I got it for an amazing price and I even got the green card to cross the border to other countries in the Balkans for free. That's not something other companies will offer. Plus the staff was extremely nice and their service throughout the rental was outstanding - we had their phone number and WhatsApp and they'd assist us immediately in case we needed anything. Totally recommended!

petra managed to get us the exact vehicle we requested - the directions from arrivals to pick-up office were good - the customer contact and experience were first class - collection, fuelling and hand back were excellent - the vehicle was faultless - and we were provided all the necessary paperwork for border crossings / ferry trips too

I would thoroughly recommend Avax Car Rental. Everything was simple and efficient. I have rented cars in many foreign locations and often with the global car rental companies and I generally find it a very painful, non-customer centric experience.
