Worst telecoms experience ever

The internet provided is intermittent and will entirely cut out regularly. This unfortunately means contacting the customer service department. They are only open 9.30 - 5.00 on weekdays; for a telecoms provider this is entirely inconvenient. Not to mention to get in touch with someone you will have a minimum wait likely to be in excess of 20 mins.

This is up there with one of the worst companies i have ever had the displeasure in dealing with and for a telecoms provider I am surprised they are still in business other than knowing people in rural spots have limited options and they take full advantage of this and lock you in and then provide 0 service.

My advice is to stick with the slow internet provided by the usual suspects, the speed may be slow but at least the internet will be there and the customer service will be far superior.

they are a waste of time

they are a waste of time, firstly they said they could install the dish within a week, i got the equipment delivered within two days but it took five weeks for them to actually turn up. The engineer was hilarious, tried telling the dish would be better lower down rather than up high??? more like its easier to install !

they claim it is up to 30mbps but its more like around 1mbps. we went with a high data package but after just probably around 30mins of use, just looking at things like face book, emails etc, no live streaming or downloads, the data ran out!

we actually do not bother using it any more, waiting for the contract to end. would have been better off paying for two bt lines, still have one bt line which only gives us about 1mbps but is still a lot faster that the satellite !

How can communications be this bad!

I spoke with Chris Jones this morning and he seemed quite helpful. I thought I would go ahead, however the trouble I had getting through and continually ending up with answerphones etc made me look for other peoples experiences. Just in time I decided not to go with them. My own experience validated the comments made by others.

WOW. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY?

WOW! First time I have read these comments on the company. I have been with Avonline for a few years. We live 500M up a Scottish hill so we do not have a land line. BT wanted £12,000 to lay a telephone line to our house. I assumed that they did not want the job.

We upped our bandwidth when my son and our granddaughter came to stay for a year. The my granddaughter went back to NZ and my son met a pair of blue eyes and took off. Rang the company to reduce bandwidth and this was done pronto. Can't imagine what has happened to cause all this negative comment. But, there must be a reason.

This company is a disgrace

This company is a disgrace to uk business it’s Customer service team lies to you, they also commit fraud by taking money out of your account when your contract with them ended 3 months ago and won’t refund it back to you.
Have sent email with no reply back and called over 12 times to sort it out with the customer service team that have no idea and make things up to cover their own back

This company's customer services will…

This company's customer services will not reply to any communication unless its in their favour. I ordered a system on 5/12/2017 which I was forced to cancel on the 11/12/2017 due to not being able to install a satellite dish to the property. I have paid in excess of £400 for the euipment which was delivered to me immediately. I have sent numerous emails to the company to collect their equipment and refund me. But as I have stated they NEVER bother to reply. Yesterday they sent me an invoice for £25 cancellation fee! What a complete joke the way this company is managed. Let's hope they read their reviews, but I do doubt that they are not receiving income in these instances so simply will not bother,Has anybody out there got any suggestions? Thanks .

I had avonline satellite for 3 years…

I had avonline satellite for 3 years when I downgraded it was a nightmare trying to get it sorted.they still kept taking the same amount out of my account.
In the end I had to cancel my direct debit and still have not been refunded.
I would think twice before getting satellite broadband from them.
And there customer service is rubbish every time I managed to get though they said they would sort it.but no such luck.keep well clear.

Avoid at all costs - not worth the painful customer experience.

I've used them on and off for years - any port in a storm. I currently have 6 unanswered emails to their technical department since November 2017. Absolutely useless. Avoid them if you can find an alternative - which is what I'm about to do. Currently sitting on hold for 10 minutes for them just to answer my call!

So poor it’s surprising how they stay…

So poor it’s surprising how they stay in business. Complete exploitation of members of the rural communities. I have been a customer for 4 years and the service has actually got worse not better over that time. I have a £49 per month package, cannot stream films and can’t get from 1 billing period to the next without running out of service. Their Customer service phone and complain service on line is shambolic.

Appalling customer service; no replies to email, money owed to me not refunded despite many, many promises that it would be sent to my bank. My advice is choose a different company

Beware

Fine for the first 2 years and then suddenly they took out unauthorised amounts of money from my account each month and owed me nearly £200. This stook 3 months of continual calls to get refunded with endless broken promises and ridiculous excuses. Beware!!!

A compleat waste of time

The time it takes for you to answer the phone is very bad
My problem was I could not log onto the new customer portal and the forgotten password link did not work,
After wasting a lot of time and phoning customer service 3 times one of which that was never answered I managed to get logged in only to find that apart from my personal details there is no other information.

They overcharged me for months after I …

They overcharged me for months after I dropped my tariff down. I called in and was told they would refund me. Then they carried on taking the increased amount and never refunded me, and it's impossible to get through to anyone on the phone, and no one answers emails.

As said before i wish there was a no star rating.
They are the worst company i have ever dealt with. They constantly bull##it they just try and fob you off with lies. This happened over the entire year of the contract and i have proof!
DO NOT have anything to do with this company, you have been warned.

Be wary of Rapport…

I was having trouble with over usage of the satellite link particularly at night. After consulting with supposed experts to try to identify the programme that was causing this I was still none the wiser until Gabor got onto the case and identified Rapport as a possible cause.
We removed this programme and my usage fell from about a 1 GB + per day to about 200/ 300 MB !

He was most helpful over this matter and I am most grateful for his help as I am now working comfortably within my 20 GB allowance. and I am very glad not to have Rapport monitoring me in the background all the time of which I was entirely iunaware and have no idea how it got installed in the first place.
