Time to update my review as Mum has now lived at Avon Park for nine years – and still loves it. All the residents enjoy a great quality of life, in a lovely setting, and very positive and life-affirming atmosphere. The team of carers deserve high praise for their unceasing efforts, patience and good humour. The place is kept in immaculate condition – always clean and fresh and welcoming. Residents are helped to do exactly as much as or as little as they choose. For example, Mum likes to keep pot plants on the patio, and play her piano in her room, but meanwhile group activities are going on elsewhere, for the enjoyment and entertainment of all who want to join in. Finally I should mention that the chef does a great job and the food is excellent. I’m very glad we found Avon Park!

My grandmother has been at Avon Park for over 2 years now. The atmosphere at Avon Park is warm and welcoming and the care is personal. As a community nurse I visit many care homes in my local area and I can tell you that many of them don't have that vibe about them. The staff are lovely, caring and friendly and really seem to know the residents. Amy the nurse manager is fantastic and really goes out of her way to provide the best care and my grandmother really respects her. The home also make a great effort with all the activities and outings and I can now follow these on their Facebook page. When I visit, I am always offered a meal (which is always delicious) and my grandmother likes to be able to eat lunch with me. Finally Alex the owner is really lovely. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Avon Park.

My mother, due to circumstances beyond her control moved, with no notice, from her home at Tavistock, Devon in April 2019 where she had lived for some 40 years to enable her to be closer to her family in the Southampton/Winchester area. After looking at several homes, the decision was taken with her agreement to move to Avon Park. Now comfortably settled into her new home, she has made new friends and most importantly feels safe and cared for. The staff at Avon Park, led by a very strong and committed management team, are totally resident dedicated. I could not ask for more regarding her care and well-being.

My mother has been at Avon Park for three years now, having moved at 92, and after being unable to safely live alone. She never wanted to leave her house but in fact is very happy, and is glad she moved. The staff are very caring (and very patient!). There are always activities taking place. The Christmas party, to which family members are invited, is very enjoyable and demonstrates how proactive the team there are. The home is very clean, very warm and I am very confident in the care my mother receives there.

My Mum has been at Avon Park for nearly a year. It is a lovely home and always clean and tidy. She is very well looked after by all the staff including excellent activities and entertainment (which the family have also enjoyed). She has been very well fed and the staff go out of their way to cater for her individual diet. A lot of effort goes into celebrating events. My Mum has improved considerably since being there which is a credit to Amy and all the team and shows their passion for the job goes well above and beyond.
We always enjoy visiting everyone in the home as it is a refreshing cheerful environment where staff and residents are happy. This provides us as the family with reassurance our Mum is safe secure relaxed and well looked after

My father has lived at Avon Park for over two years and he’s very happy there. The staff are lovely and it’s very reassuring that he’s in safe hands. The only thing dad has mentioned to me is that there aren’t many activities during the day, but given he sleeps most of the afternoon I’m not entirely sure he’d attend them!
