Avoid – strong red flags and high-pressure NFT tactics
I was contacted by someone claiming to be an art collector who insisted on using AxieArts.com to purchase my work as NFTs. Throughout the exchange there were multiple red flags: refusal to provide basic ID or business details despite initially agreeing to do so, insistence that only their chosen platform be used, and repeated pressure for me (the artist) to pay upfront “minting fees” in crypto before any purchase took place.
Requests for off-platform invoices, deposits, or standard due-diligence were rejected, and the process was framed in a way that shifted all financial risk onto the artist. This is not how legitimate art purchases or professional NFT acquisitions are handled.
I chose not to proceed. Artists should be extremely cautious and avoid paying any upfront crypto fees or minting costs at the request of a supposed buyer.
