Avoid – Argos & AZNU passed responsibility for faulty refurbished phone



I bought a refurbished phone from Argos as a birthday present for my son. Unfortunately, the phone stopped working after only one month.

When I contacted Argos, they refused to take responsibility and directed me to the supplier, AZNU. However, AZNU did not respond to my emails or phone calls, leaving me without any support or solution.

As the issue was not resolved by either Argos or AZNU, I had no choice but to use my insurance to replace the phone, which caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

Very disappointing experience. I would strongly advise avoiding refurbished phones sold through Argos where responsibility is passed between companies and customer support is ineffective.

Argos need to get real!….

Aznu are a company that do not do “detail”. I bought a refurbished iPhone SE from Argos, for an admittedly excellent price.
Got it home, everything looked pristine but when I stuck the lightning cable in the socket at the bottom of the iPhone I found the lead hard to get in and it was at a wonky angle. Double checked with a different lightning lead, the same!

I really wouldn’t bother purchasing these unless Argos change their returns policy on these second hand phones.
It’s just not worth the “gamble” and strange that a company like Argos think they can deploy the same unremitting returns procedure on these second hand items as they do on brand new phones!?
Avoid until Argos “get real” on returns with these…

Unfortunately Argos has started selling refurbished iphones through this company so please do not buy them! I got one after yrs of having argos refurbished apple phones and never had issues, always came in apple box. The current one i have came from them and was clearly not in new condition as promised but i kept it. 9 months and endless issues w overheating, battery, and lagging i decided to order a newer model from Argos hoping it wont be them. Well it was and what arrived today was covered in hair, had broken and bubbly wrap that had some crusty residue and was peeling off. No protection on the back and the back camera was scratched. Currently in the process of returning and refunding it. Never again.

Galaxy s20 ultra from argos there is no refurbished quality status on there mobiles over priced, awkward not straight forward customer service from AZMU MOBILE and Argos customer service is deteriorating if there is a problem, the price charged for these mobiles they should be prestine condition, will not use argos for refurbished phones again, I have experienced better

I purchased a refurb Samsung mobile…

I purchased a refurb Samsung mobile from Argos and on reciept it was faulty (black spot under the screen) so obviously had not been checked and recieved in an 'as new' condition as promised on the website. I have had so many problems trying to return this and obtain a refund. I took it to my local store the same day I had it delivered to return it and obtain refund only to be told that I had to deal with AZNU direct as it was a third pary supplier. I tried to say that I purchased from Argos so surely it was their responsibility to offer a refund and take the item back but was firmly told not possible as they have no way of processing it. After several phone calls to Argos Customer Care and AZNU, emails back and forward to AZNU, I have now been able to return it to Argos. So after 2 store visits, several phone calls and several emails later I am now awaiting refund (fingers crossed). I would not advise anyone to purchase one of these phones - fine if you get a good refurbished one, but nothing but hassle if you happen to get a faulty one and need to return it.

Faulty Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.

I brought a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G from Aznu Mobile via Argos online. When I received the phone was promised an all tested working refurbished phone, but for it to be faulty that wouldn’t work 2 different SIM cards and kept dropping signal every 4 seconds didn’t seem to be user error as I restarted, reinserted many attempts but seemed to be a faulty device, however Aznu Mobile states on their website products brought via Argos, Argos has to deal but then Argos told me to contact Aznu Mobile anyway?! Asked Argos for a refund and was annoying Argos couldn’t refund their and then as it had to be dealt with online and not in person which seemed to be a faff around and waiting for online support, 1st phone call to customer service at Aznu Mobile was very unprofessional sounded like an actual 16 year old child on the other end of the phone and just said to me. Refunds can’t be done on the phone has to be done via email ‘in it’ bruv he said. Seemed a very unprofessional person on the phone. Had a 2nd phone call from Aznu Mobile which sounded like a call centre in India was hard to understand what they were saying but somehow in the end I got the refund returned the faulty device via DHL delivery service and got refunded my money after a week of faff around but definitely I’d never buy from this company again be my first and last time.

Untested iPhone 8 Plus sent out

Refurbished iPhone 8 Plus was purchased from Argos through company Aznu. The Home button that is required to set the phone up is completely unresponsive. The phone had not been tested prior to being sent out.
I eventually navigated the Argos call platform and advised someone would call me back so I waited in but there was no call back.
I phoned again next day to request a refund and I was told someone will call me back its now 6pm and no calls or email from them today.
I needed this phone for a relative who is going on holiday next week so not a good customer experience & will not be dealing with Aznu again.

Phone flat after 2hours

Refurbished iPhone 7 was purchased from Argos through company aznu. The battery from 100% to 0 in 2hours on standby or turned off - usage, one 4 minute conversation, no internet, no other apps being used. Turns itself off at 52%, Argos customer service on how to be rude, offensive, deny an fault, refused a refund "don't waste your time, patience or money!", I now wait for it to be "collected??" For a refund??

All as said when advertised

All as said when advertised, only thing-which is superficial- the phone was not secured in the box well, it rattled around in the box and when I took delivery the box was vibrating, the phone was on when I opened the box. Apart from that all was fine.

Impressed

Easy to order, phone was delivered in 1 1/2 days, it was beautifully packaged and when I opened the box the Samsung S10 phone looked and worked like I had received it straight from Samsung. I definitely would buy another phone from Aznu without hesitation.

Bought an 'As new' Galaxy note 9 for…

Had an issue with first phone with a minor scuff on the stylus pen,and they took ownership of the situation and apoligised and replaced the unit with an immacuate one immediately, worth the extra money as ebay refurbs can use poor quality parts whereas AZNU only use Samsung original. Took a star off for the issue with the first unit, but will use again in future 100%

Loved everything about it...

Loved everything about this... The site is easy to use and blimey do we need premium refurbished phones. Loved that I helped the environment all the while getting a great price. Fast and effective check-out experience and the product arrived in record quick time well packaged. As for the phone, I can't believe this is a refurb, it really is as new. Super impressed beginning to end.
