The app is responsive and works reliably. The learning experience integrates across multiple language skills (listening, speaking, written comprehension, etc.) The content is fun and includes some vernacular, making it more relevant.
I would like to have better feedback about progress and areas of weakness, Ideally, this would include guidance aimed at addressing areas of weakness.

I am having a great time learning and the but I feel like the daily exercises are too easy sometimes, often just asking for a single word. Particularly, the listening exercises with multiple choice answers because the choices are different enough that a complete novice has a good chance of choosing correctly based on the sentence length.
I would like an option to be asked to transcribe the audio as this will be more mentally engaging.

Grown up language app! I Like the lesson structure you can see ahead and practice opportunities. Would like some longer audio practice to listen to in the car, say 30 mins rather than 13. Some early lesson recaps would be useful to get the foundations to sink in.

I love the variety of exercises and the possibility of reviewing the preceding day's learning before starting a new section. I also like the use of pictures for the vocabulary. The sound quality is very good. There are many other good things that make Babbel so superior to the free app I had been using.

Excellent range of learning styles. Vocab daily practice available . Grammar lessons, which I’ve just discovered which are very helpful. I love the travel podcasts they are brilliant. I love the conversations with Italians and Italian students as well.

The lessons are immersive but they point a bit too much on translating.
If you sign up for babbel.com, make sure you go to your account because they will set you up with automatic renewal without you knowing it. I do like that there’s many ways on the app to practice your new language. There’s grammar, repetitive training sessions, and podcast and scenarios that you can listen to with narration to help you. You can even run it at a slower speed as you learn. It’s definitely not boring! I would highly recommend immersing yourself in the language you’re learning because you will not learn just by using the app by itself. Listen to radio and watch TV in the language and apply it in your daily tasks associating words with actual objects. Visual input really helps. Watch movies in the language if possible, try YouTube. Good luck!

I have tried to cancel this service, but you are still stealing money from me every month.

I saw reviews online saying this was a great way to learn a language because of ai. but The app isn't as good as duolingo. And 3 months later they. Stole money with out my consent. I am utterly appalled that this company unethically touted 45$ for a 3- month membership but didn't mention anything about a subscription. This is predatory and wrong. When I asked for a refund the day after they charged me. They said they won't honor a refund and will give me a voucher for someone else to use. Congrats Babbel hope its worth it for $45 you just made an enemy.

So much better than DuoLingo plus, which I used before! Relevant topics, and challenging but still easy to practice.

Appropriate vocabulary with sentence building managed through a variety of tasks.
Altough my native language is Dutch ( not available to learn Italian) i have already learned more in one month then i did in 3 years of Quizlet.
Words without context and very little grammar in Quizlet, This is not the case in Babble, it motivates me a lot.

Good on Grammar in the lessons but needs to provide simple summarised explanations of the grammar rules in each lesson - such that the summary can be accessed independently of repeating each lesson

I was using Duolingo (for free) but I increasingly found it kept changing its learning system to impede free learners. Jumped at the chance to buy a discounted one-off fee for Babbel and haven't regretted it. I find Babbel more fun to learn with and the French lessons feel more contemporary and similar to how people speak in everyday life. Babbel is not afraid to teach you grammar too, something Duolingo shies away from. I still use Duolingo as an extra source of vocabulary and excercises though.

The structure and methodology are very good. Easy and user friendly!

I like being able to study the grammar, and go back to repeat a section at anytime. I like the flexibility of doing a quick workout testing writing, reading, speaking and listening. I enjoy the podcasts. But would prefer more content from people from Spain not only South America. I am based in the UK and unlikely to travel to Latin America only Spain. I am sure other European users feel the same. That is my only issue. Other than that it's a great app.

Natural voices and realistic learning scenarios such as visiting cities in Italy make Babbel a pleasure to use.
Also almost no glitches or errors, only seen one in 3 years of daily usage. Lifetime purchase is I think a bargin.

I'm in general very happy, but there is one thing that's annoying. When I have answered a question on a page in the app, the app automatically jumps to the next page. Many times, I would like to have a better look at the question and answer on one page, to really understand it. It would therefore be great with a "continue"-button so that I can move on when I'm ready.
