Reserving a car here means nothing
Genuinely one of the worst dealership experiences I’ve ever had. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
We paid £99 to reserve a CX-5 on Thursday and were clearly told it would be held for us. I explained I was having surgery and couldn’t return until Monday, and was reassured this wouldn’t be a problem.
We arrived earlier than intended, on Saturday, for my husband to take a test drive, while I was still recovering, and were left waiting an hour and a half. Eventually after speaking to Keith, he informed us the car had been on another test drive. We were confused because we had reserved the car so why would someone else be giving it a test drive. He then informed us that another person was interested in the car and wanted to buy it.
When my husband and father repeatedly asked Keith a simple, direct question — “Has the car been sold?” — he would not answer it. He deflected, shifted blame, and avoided giving a straight response. After my dad pressed him to just tell the truth, Keith abruptly jumped out of his seat saying he didn’t like the accusation. We were asking for clarity and expressing disappointment - nothing more.
Only when I went to the manager were we told plainly that the car was sold.
The entire interaction with Keith felt evasive, defensive, and deeply unprofessional. Watching someone refuse to take responsibility in real time was astonishing. Yes, we got our £100 back — but that doesn’t undo the wasted time, the stress, or the complete lack of integrity shown. Never mind the huge disappointment that we couldn’t buy the car we wanted.
If this is the standard of service here, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.
