Delivery was fast, quality incredibly poor!
The jacket arrived fairly quickly. So, I’m giving a decent rating. However, when I saw how teeny the package it came in in my mailbox, all I could do was chuckle as I knew it would not be what was pictured. The green velvet jacket is anything but velvet. It has the quality of a Halloween costume. Not worth sending back, I’ve put it in my donate box.

Horrible customer service with this bank!
Too bad this historical bank with an illustrious rich history has become just another craven shark trying to suck dry the poor folks like myself who don't know any better than sign up for a credit card that charges 30% a month in interest.
Even when I tried to cancel my card tonight I was told I could not do that (?!?) and only after I insisted did the agent finally lament but only after reading a lengthy legal document and then telling me I need to hold 3 -4 more minutes why they verify my new mailing address.
I had this card for over 5 years -- no appreciation or loyalty -- just craven greed.
Misrepresentation
This company misleads consumers - false claims 'cashmere jumper' but actually polyester arriving in a tiny package with no return info and no labels. Customer service ignores emails. Claim via credit card company and report them to trading standards - Dutch company selling fake Chinese clothes. Shocking.
Dishonest, Rude and Still Holding My Money
Barclays cashed my settlement check and then claimed they never received it. I have full proof the check cleared from my bank, yet they continue to deny it and refuse to honor our agreement.
Every time I called, I was met with outsourced agents who were either blatantly rude, silent, or refused to escalate. One so-called manager wouldn’t even give her name or ID number — a clear violation of consumer protection standards.
When I asked for my own account number, I was stonewalled. I wasn’t asking for favors — I was asking for accountability for money they already took.
This is more than bad customer service — this is a mishandling of funds tied to a legal agreement, and it reeks of fraud. Barclays is either operating with negligence or actively deceiving customers.
I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and I will not stop until Barclays takes full responsibility.
If you’re dealing with them, document everything. Don’t assume they’ll act in good faith. They didn’t with me.
The Reviews Say It All
Barclays Customer Service is useless. They will only read pre-written copy to you. They are NOT there to help.
Barclay's Has Poor Customer Service & Don't Reward Loyalty
I paid off my card and closed it. It went from 0% interest to 25% -- yet they wanted to know why I wanted to close it. I understand the 0% can't last. But going up to 25% certainly isn't going to make me want to stay. Also, the only time you can get through to someone in customer service on the phone is when you want to close your account - previously just trying to get a question answered, I sat on hold and was disconnected FOUR times. Account services answers quickly when you call to close; however, it still can take forever because they want to know why you're closing, and they spend needless amounts of time repeating back what you say and apologizing, etc etc. Very annoying company, overall. Avoid if possible. I have nothing good to say except that they did offer me a 0% interest once. When you close, they say you can NEVER open another account with them again. So, on top of the bad customer service and insanely high APR, they are also petty.
Update: after I closed my account, they offered me 0% interest for transfers.
DO NOT TRUST BARCLAYS CREDIT CARDS
I can see now that 10 years ago before I started doing business with BarclayCardbank.us I should have red TrustPilot reviews. When their rating is a 1 you don’t want to trust them!! I have been doing business with them 10 years ago and I want to state that up until today I have NEVER: been late, over my credit line (or even close), asked for a cash advance, or done even a balance transfer!! I pay my bills on time. I had major surgery on my spine/neck in November and was off work for almost 3 months. Between my loss of income after 1 month, large medical bills, and my wife having to care for me, we had financial difficulties. We ended up having to use some of our credit cards just to get by. NOT ONCE did we fail to pay our payments but our balances did go up. We went from 21% debt ratio to almost 30%. When Barclays saw that, and my score declining, they reacted by dropping my credit line down to within a few hundred dollars of my balances. Within 2 weeks 2 of the bureaus dropped our score even further, showing we were using 90% of our credit lines - DUE TO THEIR ACTIONS! It’s good t know that you can have a stellar record of payment for years and they don’t care. I have proof of the thousands of doctor bills we incurred, and my credit report proves we never missed a single payment to Barclays Card or anyone else furling the last 6 months, or for the last 10 years!!! However, Barclays could care less! They took action that made our situation even worse and they know it. I tried talking to the people at the Bank but it was useless. Their only reply “we will review your accounts in 6 to 12 months to see if your situation improves. In talking with a Credit Attorney he told us it could take up to TWO YEARS to get all of this corrected not just a few months. He was surprised that we had the payment record we have across ALL our creditors, and Barclays ignored our records. Never trust a Bank - especially Barclays!!
8/21/2024 UPDATE:
These people have chosen to even be more despicable than earlier from March - May 2024. They have now not only dropped my CL by over 75% down to the current level they set in May. Now since May they have lowered it again TWICE - each time I make a payment on my 2 accounts they lower the credit line another $100-200 to just above the balance. How low can they go to kick a man when he is down?? I guess next they will close the accounts due to FALSE REASONS.
PLEASE NOTE during this 6 month period I HAVE NEVER MISSED a payment or been late to Barclays or to ANY creditor on my credit file!! My score dropped initially in March to about 670 due to Barclays and 2 other banks reducing my credit lines due to my having several surgeries in the prior year and having to use my credit cards to live and pay Doctor bills - but they don’t care. My score is still between 670-680 but is slowly rebounding due to my excellent pay record across the board!!! The people at Barclays are not sympathetic to a persons problems, even when they continue to pay like clockwork. I realize the actions they continue to take could be retaliation for my review in May on Trustpilot, but if that is true it is important that I get the word out to the public to NOT use Barclays Bank credit cards or if you already do, be very careful because they may screw you also!! How uncaring or unfair can they be?? G. Furguson Flower Mound, TX an excellent customer for over 8 years but who cares - not Barclays Bank! I wait for their next attack on me!
The negative impact of outsourcing...
I had Barclay card US for soo long and as time goes, I really feel they are lacking on communication skills, as nice as these people are, they are simply not proficient enough, even the managers. Getting frustrated on a major issue i had that seems to stall...they are outsourcing their customer service, and you feel like you are dealing with tourist agents from Asia...

One of the worst credit card companies…
One of the worst credit card companies I have ever dealt with. I was out of state and didn't have my card I accidentally left it at a Walmart in North Carolina while traveling and somebody ordered $1,700 worth of items from a company I didn't even know of. I contacted Barclay to file fraud charges because the charge was made while I was in Pennsylvania and the charge was made in South Carolina. I made a charge the day I called to file fraud charges on my father's card to show we were in Pennsylvania. They filed it as fraud than a week later while I was still in Pennsylvania they put the charge back on my card I didn't have and said the company provided proof of delivery. I asked to see it and it was a picture of somebody's door but not mine. They didn't seem to care so I ended up paying $1,700 for charges I did not make. The company is a scam and totally pathetic. My father has had a card through them for almost 20 years and they screwed us on a charge they know we did not make because they replaced my card knowing it was missing. I have several credit cards and I've never had any one of them Tell me a charge was valid because of a picture of a package in front of a door that wasn't mine. The door was not mine the number wasn't mine and neither was the package. Never again.
No words to describe these guys!
As of Oct. 24, '23 Barclay has 928 reviews and 1,149 ratings and gets 1 1/2 stars on Consumeraffairs.com. My experience is similar to many other reviews there. Offers Barclay doesn't honor, deception, lies and stalling is the norm. I do not understand how this company remains in business and avoids legal prosecution. I have tons of detailed notes I kept but here are the highlights.
My wife and I each have our own Barclay card to accumulate American Airline miles. She received Barclay offer to spend a certain amount on the card over a three-month period and receive additional points/miles for doing so. They did not make that offer to me. Is that legal or even important? I'll show why in a bit.
We started using only her card to reach the monthly award spending amount when her card started to be rejected. It took a while but we discovered the limit on her card was lower than the amount the award required to be reached. We called Barclay and they raised the limit on her card but this took 14 days during which no purchases could be made causing us not to be able to meet the requirements in month one of the three month offer. After 6 calls with Barclay agents/mgrs, I was told it was their mistake and they would reset the system to resolve the matter and we should continue to use the card to satisfy the requirements for the next 2 months. I was an idiot to fall for that.
We continued to spend over the next 2 months to double and triple of what was required to satisfy the offer and expected the points/miles to be posted to the account. To get to the point, I have spoken 15 times to 15 different agents/managers about when and where are the points and today they finally tell me what I should have known. They claim we did not qualify since we did not meet the requirement for the first month. This is in spite of the fact I documented 2 conversations when I was told we would get the award.
It's obvious their aim was to get us to spend money using their card with no intent of fulfilling the offer. Why would they make an offer to spend a certain amount to a card holder whose card could not reach the amount and not make the offer to someone (me) who had a card that could satisfy the requirement? Why would they say they had fixed the problem and tell us to continue to spend on the card when they had no intention of fulfilling their offer?
The amount of times Barclay moved the goal posts (changed their story or reasoning) is staggering and would take up much more space than I’m sure anyone wants to read. One Barclay agent told me if I didn’t have the resources to spend, then I should have never taken the offer. HUH? Barclay even had the audacity to say we would be put on a list and they would contact us about future offers of this type.!!!!! Folks, these guys really think we're stupid. Considering the number of people who still give Barclay business, I'm sure they feel like they can get away with anything.
Horrible Application Process For Jet Blue Credit Card
Trying to apply for a Barclay's Jet Blue credit card. During review process, received a letter in the mail requesting copy of driver's license and social security card be sent in the MAIL. Who sends that information in the mail. The letter from Barclays had not phone number or contact information except a PO Box. I sent a letter to that address asking for a secure link over which to send the requested information. Never heard back. Called four (4) different numbers at Barclays to try to get a link over which I could complete the application. Nobody at any of those numbers (if you could get a person to actually respond) could help me and just suggested another number to call.
Lied about a dispute
Lied about a dispute. They sent a letter stating they called me 2 times for additional information. On both those occasions they called about 5:30AM PST and I still picked up. When I answered they (Rep or Robo?) hung up without saying anything. I assume so they could just close out the dispute for Audible.com without having to put forth any effort.
Chat Service or Not Chat Service Over two and a half hours on the chat…
Over two and a half hours on the chat service trying to resolve and raise a coplaint about the service I have received and still nothing done
Rewards points modified to suit them
Rewards points modified to suit them, even retroactive on previous purchases, cutting my relationship with this card today.
Awful customer service
Of all the credit card companies that I have held accounts with, this one has to have the worst customer service. Extremely long wait times, lots of gatekeepers, and no interest in doing what they can to keep a customer happy.
I've had good experiences with Chase and other options. Barclaycard is awful. Go elsewhere.
This company is rip-off and very…
This company is rip-off and very incompetent and don't have knowledge of their work I wanted to make a balance transfer from another card to pay this one off because of their high fees instead they took the money for the transferer fee out and now they are charging me a fee because of the worker didn't speak good English her mistake I'm so done with all these fees they charge
I had a charge at a clothing company…
I had a charge at a clothing company declined. Entered again, decline again. I went to their site, logged in, and asked why my purchase was being denied.
We got a phone call within minutes from Barclay and assured them we were making a legitimate purchase. We thought the matter was settled, even though no explanation was made for declining.
Then I get their email response to my online question. They put a hold on my account. Their response to my question: Why? was a canned explanation of their security policies, even though there was never a security issue. All further attempts to communicate with Barclay, produced the same canned response.
My response will be to close the credit card account and a Barclays savings account. This is a company that has nothing but contempt for their customers.
2FA and Email alias options absent
Even after years of reports, Barclay Card Services failed to secure customers' online security by implementing 2 factors authentication and allowing '+' aliases in their emails. Please avoid.
Poor customer service, poor excuse of a credit card company.
They have flagged my card for suspicious transactions several times when I use the card, then I have to call them, being placed on hold for an hour and still not reaching anyone. How do you call security at a bank and not reach anyone? Is this a bank or being run out of someone's basement? Had to enter my card number, last four of my social number then transferred to a person, only to be asked for the information again, then my name, then they wanted to send me a one time password - I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and was told it will take 15 days for one to call be back as that is their policy. I told them I want to cancel the card, and was again told well we have to send you a one time password or you have to wait 15 days to talk to a manager then you can cancel your account. When I insisted, all of a sudden a manager could get on the phone and cancel the account. Shame on American Airlines for partnering with such a poor excuse of a company.
